A Rhapsody is a musical composition that evokes a spontaneous outpouring of emotions, often containing contrasting moods and tempos. You can really feel the emotions Freddy put Into this piece and we can all see and relate to the emotions it evokes in you. Both are absolutely beautiful.
I’m 52, I was introduced to Queen as a kid, my Mother who is now 75 loved Queen, especially Freddie. It’s great to see younger generations also appreciate his music.
This could be the best song of all time. In fact it feels like three songs in one because it combines the melodic, operatic, and metallic into a perfect musical composition.
Saw them in February of '77 in Springfield Mass. Thin Lizzy opening! Started with " Tie Your Mother Down " and ended with Freddie and the guys doing covers of "Jailhouse Rock " and " Hey, Big Spender "! To this day it's one of the best concerts I've ever seen!
This is my first time watching one of your reaction videos. I love that you don't continually stop the music to talk. You made much more real and enjoyable than other TH-camrs who just want to hear themselves talk. I'll subscribe ❤
In the Netherlands we have the top 2000 on NPO2 for the last 4 days of the year. The whole of the Netherlands listens to it. And this song has been at NO1 for years. So on December 31st at midnight, the whole of the Netherlands will sing QUEEN......
Your respect and love for this music is to be admired. I grew up going to these concerts, I've seen Queen twice live. I so wish you could experience these guys live. I found you and subbed on "Since I've been loving you" and you are never a disappointment. Mad respect to you.
When Freddie's original handwritten lyrics were dislayed at auction, he had the phrase "Nothing really matters to me" centered with a box around it. Really quite special to see it in person. Even Brian May had not seen it prior - can you imagine?
Never be another song like this the artistry of Freddie a hugely talented band.Freddie wrrote 3 songs over a lot of years in the end he put them together. Hence a Rhapsody.
Wow that's great! I would have loved to see that tour I saw the jazz tour and the next 2 after. I would have loved to see the early days! I worked with a guy here in Portland Oregon Who said he went to see mott the Hopple and there was this back up band called queen touring with them I never forgot that comment from him 😊
'it looks new', nice reaction! I'm 50 and this tune is as old as me, its a rare music concept in that it reached UK No1 in 3 different decades and is one of the first music videos and one of the few tunes that does NOT repeat itself! :)
It is ART, and I saw them perform LIVE IN TORONTO, CANADA on August 30th, 1980. The Best Concert I ever witnessed! Have been obsessed with QUEEN since I was 16
Saw their first 3 American tours, then a couple times after thry got big and then once after Freddie passed and Paul Rodgers helped on vocals. They were great always but a rock n roll hurricane in those early days, see anything in 1974, those shows were masterpieces. Just like Led Zeppelin, when they got big, some of the older stuff gets dropped for newer hits, they were great whenever I saw them but those early shows stand out for me.
It sounds like three songs in one because that's what it started as. Freddie had three songs that were mostly done, but couldn't figure out how to truly finish them. Then they began recording for A Night At The Opera and he was inspired to roll them together into one large song and it became one of the most famous and loved songs in the world. In many ways it is their Magnum Opus.
When they presented this song to the musical department of EMI, the label, it was rejected in the long version - not suited for radio airplay. Some stations then put it on heavy rotation and in the end "Bohemian Rhapsody" stayed on No1 in England for 9 weeks ;-)
This is a work of total perfection. A musical masterpiece that encompasses the melodic, operatic, and metallic. Just a brilliant composition by every possible metric.
Excellent reaction Steph, I think the more you do reactions, and you look at them non-myopically, you will see and appreciate the brilliance and uniqueness pf Freddie Mercury and Queen...have a great day!
This song IS THE GREATEST ROCK SONG EVER!! It is this in the number one spot and the EAGLES Hotel California in the number two spot. Both are amazing and completely unforgettable!!!
agree with you. i am a huge beatles fan and i would say that the 5 best songs are in no particular order bohemian rapsody, hotel california, stairway to heaven confortably numb and any beatles song among many....no particular order but exept for bohemian rapsody that will be my number 1 forever regards from france
Thanks, Steph! I enjoyed your reaction.. Queen has so many more incredibly creative compositions.. besides all the popular ones you know.. I hope you watch and react to more... !
Wonderful reaction! In the beginning you said you really like Freddie's stage presence. So you definitely should watch Queen Live Aid 1985, it's a 21 minute show full of awesomeness.
I was surprised when you said you heard the song before, thought it was your first time. Anyway your reaction was so real and emotional it was great to see and I'm going to check out your other reactions to Queen. My favorite band and quit frankly this is not only the best Rock/Pop song of all time, it's simply a work of art that will live for a long time. It's AGELESS!
If you're interested in how this song came about, there is a video of Sir Brian May and Roy Thomas Baker, the engineer from the recording session on the 30th anniversary of the song. There's also a second one that is a little longer from 2002. As a fan from the beginning, it was really interesting.
Also if u are curious they have a video where a green day concert and in between acts before green day comes on in England the whole crowd starts to sing this song classic concert moment. Green Day is in the back saying nope lets just go home the crowd was amazing singing that song.
Love your reaction So nice when someone younger seeing them relizes how Amazing. RIP FREDDY YESit is a story I call it Rock Opera ! So glad you see it . .
It is almost fifty years ago that I saw this video for the first time, on the television. It blew me away, and it has not aged, even as meanwhile Freddy has died and Sir Brian May has white hair.
Maybe watch the DJ play this song at the Greenday concert in England before they came on stage. When the huge crowd all start singing the song perfectly. All the harmonies, the hummed guitar parts are perfect.
In concert they would perform the first part, then play the tape for the big choir part( which was done with 3 of them singing parts, recording a ton of overdubs ), then perform the last part.
If Freddie Mercury were still alive today he would be 77 years of age, I was born one week after him in 1946. He was extremely talented. It is thought the man he killed in the song was his previous self when he came out of the closet and informed his mother he was gay.
It was one the UK radio 1975. It was number one in the UK music charts Christmas 1975. The film cost 500 quid to make. It's what was played on TV. Us young ones were spoilt for music back then . . . The 1960s and 70s were amazing not forgetting the technical changes and the sound engineers who help sculpt the sound.

You are so beautiful I will be watching you everyday. ❤❤❤. Your smile is so infectious. If you don't mind me asking where are from Iove your accent
Great reaction video! And that fact you said "of course ive heard this song before but first time seeing video" There are some reactions out there They say first time hearing Bohemian Rhapsody. I guess they must have lived On a deserted island or something And i know it wasn't Zanzibar 😅
I'm not sure if it's true but, I remember being told that Queens' record company didn't think Bohemian Rhapsody was going to be played on the radio much, if at all, because of how long it was. Radio stations generally don't play 6 minute long songs, but this ended up being an exception.
Thanks for sharing your reaction :D... probably not something you will share, but many crowds sing along to it at concerts, YT has lots - the crowds are there to listen to Green Day (for example) but they know all the words to Bohemian Rhapsody - it makes me smile :)
In the Begegnung,no Radiostation wanted to play this Song, because it was 'to long'. But then the Radio-DJ Kenny Everett plays the song 14 Times at one weekend and Queen had there first number one song.
Other songs from the concert in Montreal may interest you... Save Me, Dragon attack, Love of my Life, Another one bites the dust. Other earlier songs are March of the Black queen and White Queen

Innovative and eccentric song structure to say the least, totally huge hit and became an even bigger song after it was in Wayne's World and on MTV. Queen has a bunch of big hits, for something from their earlier albums that are amazing songs but don't get the reactions they deserve, do Liar from their great self titled debut, from Queen 2 do Ogers Battle and from their 3rd album, Sheer Heart Attack, do Brighton Rock. These songs are right there with any of their big hits as great tunes and hope you hear them sometime. Enjoy! More Queen... 🔥🎵🎸🎤🎸🎶🔥
The a cappella intro is only Freddie singing lead and harmonies. For the operatic section, the boys overdubbed 180ish harmonies to create the choral effect.
