@@CybermanBill When I had my first favorite song it was a battle between Another Brick in the Wall(pt 2) and Another One Bites the dust. This was in fourth grade. for a fourth-grader choosing to listen to the game or the wall the Wall won out. I then continued on my Floyd fanaticism. Looking back at the Game it is a way better album than my fourth-grade self had rated it. BUT Queen put out a lot of very good songs but also lot of just crap too.(My opinion) Floyd to me never played a wrong note outside of the Final Cut. So I am glad to listen to Queen but I am thankful for that fourth graders' choice in bands.
I realized the genius of Queen, the day I heared a 8 years old girl who said every single Queen song is completely different. I never thought about it before.

Brian May is my favorite guitarist. Someone once said this referring to him "It's not how many notes you can play, but how many you make count." His famous Special Red guitar is absolutely one of a kind. Handcrafted by him and his father. If you want to see him play a bit faster check out "I want it all". He shreds in that one.
My granddaughter absolutely loves this song! It is her favorite! No idea how it became her song, but she loves it! She isn't even 1 yet, but goes crazy! Its the cutest thing ever! Hell, I wasn't even born when this song came out!
I’m just glad I was a teenager in the 70 s 63 years old and I feel young again especially watching the reactions and seeing other generations appreciate the songs
According to Dr. May, this was Freddie's song from start to finish. As for the meaning, Freddie never said what it was and Brian never asked. It was Freddie's baby.
This is the BEST comment and reaction I have ever seen to this classic. I'm so pleased I saw them 3 times live in concert in the early 80's 1982 (twice) and 1984 ....... and that made my life complete!
*The only good thing a feel, about me being old.* Is, I'm so lucky to have lived through 70's and 80's music. The birth of such great artists & music.. Every singer and band had their own recognisable style and sound. Not like today when the songs are still good, but it could be any of a hundred or so singers performing it.
That's so sweet to see your reaction. I'm getting on a bit now but I was 13 when this was released and it was just the same way back then on the first hearing.
The first time I heard this in 1975 when it first came out on the radio, I had the same reaction. So glad a new generation is experiencing this beautiful song and phenomenal band. 👑
From your end comments I KNEW it would be impossible for you never to have heard at least SOME of this masterpiece, even in a lift or a shopping centre!! But was nice to watch a genuine reaction to the song by someone who loves rock music. At the risk of diverting attention from the video at hand, (in my view the greatest single by any band at any time ever) if you need a band to give you goosebumps trust someone old enough to have raved over Bohemian Rhapsody to his disbelieving parents back in 1975 when I tell you that a metal band from Japan called LOVEBITES who fell in love with music of my era and now play it every bit as well (if not better) than their heroes NEEDS to be on your list of MUST DO reactions. Great reaction, honest and passionate as always.
I was in my 20’s in the 1970’s. And guess what? I never heard this song or any part of it until that movie came out a couple of years ago. So not hard to believe a 20 year old today never heard it before. Although her reactions are phony and overdone . Annoying to say the least. So in this girls case, I have my doubt.
I was fortunate enough to grow up in the 70's and got to see Queen several times. It's wonderful to see people appreciate this music for the first time. Great reaction. Thanks!
Xmas 1974 i was 12 and first heard Queen sing Killer Queen on top of the pops.... the love affair began right their, 29/5/82 i saw them live at Leeds Uniteds Elland Road ground and as a massive Leeds united fan that was a truly amazing day. Then in 1986 i was lucky to be at both nights at Wembley stadium just 12 month after Live Aid..... when Freddie left us i was devastated and wept i even had the day off work. ive been lucky enough to visit Freddies Kensington home, i have even visited Freddies haunts around Kensington. Fast forward to next week 30/5/22 i will see the band perform again 40 yr and 1 day since that first gig in Leeds, sadly minus Freddie but the music lives on . The 70's were special times. Enjoy your love of Queen the music is timeless.
I've heard this song hundreds of times and every time it gives me the chills. Freddie's voice is timeless and there are very few artists that can touch people the way he did and still does. RIP Freddie. You are forever.
I got the "Night at the Opera" LP when I was 11 and listened to this song over and over. I never get tired of it. Freddie didn't usually tell people what the lyrics of his songs were about. He would ask people what it meant to them, so here's my interpretation of this song. I think the first part is his confession to murder and thinking about the consequences, then the rock opera part is his trial, and then the part where every human being head-bangs is his anger, and then he seems to accept the fate he's made for himself. I have no idea if that was the intention, but I'm going with it. I'm teaching this song to my 11 year old grandson now. I told him singing Bohemian Rhapsody is a life skill everyone should have, like balancing a checkbook or picking out good produce at the store. :-)
Absolutely iconic band, they supported Freddie fully in all his ideas musically and my goodness didn't it pay off. So much respect for them all. Not only extremely musically talented but super smart and well educated men. One with a degree in graphic design and illustration, another with a degree in physics, a third with a degree in biology and finally the last with a first in electronics. Despite not being born till the 90's I can't help but feel such a sense of pride. Amazing music, and amazing friends in supporting Freddie once he got ill 💕
When the solo comes in, that is all of England in a riff. The song is about a young man who must stand trial for his crime (murder). When you see Freddy as an outcast - from his family, from society, etc., you can feel how personal it really is.
Im So happy 😁💕 to see the younger generation who have never even heard of Queen and other bands from the 70's and 80's. Realize that you have missed out of over 60 yrs of awesome rock music 🎵. Rock on Girl friend!

Nobody, and I mean nobody, gets even close to Freddie Mercury as a Rock n Roll frontman/lead singer. He is the best of all time. There was/is no one like him. Just so unbelievably gifted. The high notes that you hear Roger Taylor (the drummer) hit during the operatic section are not manipulated in any way; his voice literally is that high. There is a video where Brian May goes into the studio and pulls apart the original tracks so you can hear how the song was constructed.... it's mindboggingly fascinating and clever. I'll find it for you and send it over Instagram. By the way, I just learned that your birthday is the day after mine... I'm on the 11th 🤣.
i am from the era when queen was always there, its so wonderful to see new reactions to the power and glory of Queen and Freddie.. so long as new people experience them
Bohemian Rhapsody is pronounced; Bo-he-me-an Rap-sad-ee Bohemian Rhapsody was written, in 1975, by the late Freddie Mercury (lead vocals and pianist), the falsetto (high pitched) vocals was provided by Roger Taylor (vocals and drums), the bass player John Deacon (white suit), the guitar solos is by Brian May PhD (guitar and vocals, with the striped shirt, playing a guitar he and his father made out of an old table top.) And no Autotune anywhere in sight.
Great reaction....very thoughtful. You are a great communicator. I caught them on this tour in the States and it was awesome. Queen had to leave the stage in the middle section because they couldn't replicate it live.
It is most unusual. But yeah sometimes you know the song but not the name nor artist who created it (band or composer). Also sometimes you hear a song but you're not really listening or feeling it. It's why sometimes solitary listening helps appreciation for it as a piece. Then you listen to it with others and connect.
Your reaction to the 'opera bit' was funny:)....'Take me back, music of the 70's so much better'...aaah, music to my ears. Queen are the soundtrack to my childhood, you can't go wrong with any of their stuff. I miss those days.
This song takes me on a Rollercoaster ride. I heard ,but this is just me, that when he says he killed a man it was him killing the man he was pretending to be. It was his coming out
You understand the meaning of this song, great. The important thing is, everybody should her of his own body. Thank you to react to this video. PS: you are the first one, to keep some notes from this song!!
Bohemian means stylish in an old fashioned way, a Rhapsody is an epic poem or tale, so Bohemian Rhapsody, means "An old fashioned epic tale", which in this case, is between good and evil. The 70's where very different, i can remember it well. Glad you enjoyed the tune, yakky da!
not really, bohemia is an eccentric lifestyle characteristic of some creative personalities, in fact, this term has its own history, but specifically for this song "bohemian" means a carefree life when you don't think about anything and just go with the flow as the main character of this song did. Rhapsody is a type of musical composition in a free style that can mix different styles in one song, which is what we observe in Queen's song.
If you like that one, try the one about the bicycle. It's a little obscure. But Freddie Mercury was classically trained for more than decade in Opera! When you hear the falsetto, it's him. Rest in peace Freddie Mercury
Freddie Mercury wrote this and all he would ever say about the song's meaning was that it was very personal to him and he refused to elaborate further until the day he died. No one knows, in other words.
I always felt the meaning and lyrics are pretty straightforward. At the beginning he is commenting on how unreal/surreal his situation is. He's having an existential crisis after killing someone. He is trying to pass himself as stoic or unconcerned ("Any way the wind blows, Doesn't really matter to me, to me") . I think it's all bluster, trying to act tough. Or perhaps lamenting/commenting on himself being a sociopath. The middle part is an operatic way of depicting his trial, where he and his layer plead for mercy and make excuses for his actions, but to no avail. There are references to Galileo Galilei's trial of course. The rock segment is where reality sets in as to his fate, and he feels sudden strong emotions and conviction and panic/anger. The final verse is where he has begin to accepted his fate and is resigned to it, and states that "nothing really matters to me" was actually true all along, or it's a coping mechanism. His life is over and he's pondering how surreal it all seemed. Maybe he's even going to his execution. At least that's how I always understood it. It's like a condensed "5 - stages of grief" thing - The lyrics includes anger, denial, depression, bargaining, acceptance etc.
A common belief among many is that it was Freddie's way of coming out. He'd killed the person his mama thought he was, and embraced the person he really was, and that person was glorious.
@@i_kill_for_zardoz "He's having an existential crisis after killing someone.' No, it's a metaphor. He is acknowledging that he has to be his authentic self and although it will hurt his loved one's (esp mom) he is in a sense killing off the old version of himself. He was gay and in the 70s you couldn't just come out - especially if you were famous. It would have been career suicide. This song is about his sexuality and how he struggled coming to terms with it. This song has absolutely NOTHING to do with killing another person.
Great to see the appreciation of such great music, by the young today. Perhaps when you see us old guys walk on by, you'll realise what we have lived through and loved, and the huge souls that gave us?
50 years on - what current band could DO what Queen did in this song? Today, songs are sampling, with some chanting over the insertion of other people's music. Queen didn't sample. They sang and played their own instruments. And they were uniquely creative. And they were (every one of them) world-class musicians. Bravo Queen!
My music teacher in elementary school always said there is no bad music, only bad musicians and Freddy is one of the best of all time, if not the best! Every song is a revelation (I'm born 1956 , 65 years old now)
This is a great song, and it is always fun to watch someone hear it for the first time. In spite of the lyrics in this song, it is like a carnival in that there are all sorts of things coming at you from all directions. Brilliant!!! Thank you for reacting to this song. The movie is not a documentary so it is not correct on all fronts but it does do a fairly good job of showcasing Freddie Mercury. It is a movie, not reality, created for entertainment value. Enjoy it but you are probably better off to pay attention to what all the Queenies or Queen Army here have to say because most of them have really done their research and watched all of the interviews of the band members.
I love your reaction, the way you react to this legendary tracks Pure and true! 😊❤️ And why one cannot? QUEENS was one of the legendary band. Still many youths listen to Freddy's beautiful voice.
There is a school of thought that this song was Freddie's coming out song. The person he killed was the old straight Freddie, and pulling the trigger was just telling his mum. Once it was said, he couldn't take it back. Brian May says no, but listen to it and make up your own mind.
Whenever I hear the lyric, I always imagine a poor young man ('I'm just a poor boy from a poor family'), working for mafia/terrorist and couldn't escape the organization at will ('caught on the landslide, no escape from reality'). One day he killed someone ('Mama, just killed a man, put a gun against his head, pulled my trigger now he's dead'). He might have got arrested and sent to death sentence because of that. On his remaining days, he still felt surreal about everything ('Is this a real life? Is this just fantasy?'). He then confided in his Mom how frustated he was to die at young age ('life has just begun, but now I've gone and thrown it all away'), that he was so scared to the point he'd rather never born ('I don't wanna die, I sometime wish I've never been born at all). He also felt sorry for making his Mom sad ('Mama, didn't mean to make you cry'). However, he knew it's already too late for him to repent anything. Then he told her to continue live like normal after his death ('If I'm not back again this time tomorrow, carry on carry on as if nothing really matters'). Then he faced his final moment with so many mixed emotions. In the end, what he felt was helplessness ('nothing really matters, nothing really matters to me').
Bohemian Rhapsody is a magnificent rock opera, in three parts. As you listen to the song, look for three subjects and associated music. The first part involves murder, and recognition of it and its impact. The second, the chaos, circus, accusations and counter accusations. The third, acceptance of the verdict. Note that the last note is s single strike on a symbol, allowed to die. This is not just a song, it is truely a composition. Bohemian Rhapsody, Queen, and Freddy Mercury will live forever.
Great reaction. “Can we go back to the 70’s?” Ha ha, I was fortunate enough to be 12 in 1970 so experienced the 70”’s to the fullest as a teenager growing up on the Canadian prairies. And yes some of the most outstanding music came out of the 70’s.
Wales has inspired many musicians. Robert Plant did a lot of writing in the northern part. Not coming to mind but several other artists I have read on also.
I love watching reactions to this song by the youth today. This is still considered one of the greatest rock songs ever written. I also strongly recommend "Hotel California" by The Eagles and "Stairway to Heaven" by Led Zeppelin.
You will never understand what this song is about, the only man who knew has been dead for nearly 30 years (RIP Freddie). For most Queen songs the writer(s) refused to explain the lyrics, leaving the listener to assign the meaning that makes sense to them.
@@iygirl he said in one of his interviews that he does not want to explain his songs because it would destroy it. I mean the expectations of the listeners. Let it leave to them to interpret however they wish. 😁
It's one of those songs that takes specific personal experiences to understand. You know if you know, and if not, revisiting it to explain isn't worth it to most with the necessary experience. Painful memories, trauma.
You are absolutely right. The music from the 60s into the 70s was spectacular. All of the super Bands like The Rolling Stones, The Who, Led Zeppelin and on and on. It was coming at us so fast and so much of it, we could hardly keep up with it. Then around the early 80s, music turned to crap for the most part. And don't even start with today's music, or whatever it's supposed to be. Yes, the 60s and 70s were what's known as the "Classic Rock" era. There's a reason they used the word "Classic" in there. I was in my 20s in the 70s, and now I'm almost 65 yrs. old. What a time to be a young man or woman. Things were a lot simpler, and better for the most part. Keep listening to those 60s and 70s Hits, they're the best Rock has to offer.
When this song was used in Wayne's World (1992) it became popular again and some young folks who never hear it before thought the song title was Bohemian Rap City.

Queen is one of the greatest band of all times. You'll be in such a ride for epic music
Must do the Live Aid concert 22 minutes of Queen of engery
Epic.
Greatest singer of all time.
My favorite queen song is crazy little thing called love.
5 minutes isn't long enough to digest this.
Music means what it makes you feel. The writer's intent is interesting but overall doesn't matter.
Thank you for the earlier message.
14k for sure tonight.

Ah.... Freddie's tribute to Elvis Presley and his love for him! The love they both have for their fans and especially for performing always comes out in their live shows!! Great choice for a favorite song! Unfortunately, I love them all so their all my favorites!!
March of the black queen,my fairy king ,prophets song, great king rat
K zynp
epico
I realized the genius of Queen, the day I heared a 8 years old girl who said every single Queen song is completely different. I never thought about it before.
I am fortunate enough to have grown up in the 70's and 80's and the rock bands were amazing! You're right when you say it was the best era for music!! I saw Queen in concert a few times and that song sounded exactly like this if not better. Absolutely AMAZING!!!
I attended many Queen concerts in the 70s and 80 s they were at the forefront of musical videos , and no auto tune in these days just pure genius and talent , they have a huge catalog of hits , Queen greatest hits is still the best selling album in the Uk ever !
Your facial expressions are priceless! Thoroughly enjoyed your reaction and look forward to seeing you react to more Queen songs.
Huge Queen fan base on here 😍 keep them coming! Loved your reaction! Please react to Queen at Live Aid 1985, the whole 21 minutes, it’s the best live performance ever 💐
Brian May is my favorite guitarist. Someone once said this referring to him "It's not how many notes you can play, but how many you make count."
His famous Special Red guitar is absolutely one of a kind.
Fantastic reaction; a great ride, just what I needed to see today 😁😁😁
*The only good thing a feel, about me being old.*
Is, I'm so lucky to have lived through 70's and 80's music. The birth of such great artists & music..
Every singer and band had their own recognisable style and sound. Not like today when the songs are still good, but it could be any of a hundred or so singers performing it.
Same. Nothing like having lived through 3 decades of excellent music. 60's to 80's.
That's so sweet to see your reaction. I'm getting on a bit now but I was 13 when this was released and it was just the same way back then on the first hearing.
Bohemian Rhapsody is a 4 act opera condensed into six minutes of pure genius
The first time I heard this in 1975 when it first came out on the radio, I had the same reaction. So glad a new generation is experiencing this beautiful song and phenomenal band. 👑
Of course she has heard it before its just good clickbait saying first time
It is strange I don’t remember learning the words and I know every word. Lol.
Freddie had an amazing 4 octave range. No autotune, just pure talent.
Awesome reaction. You are so right about the music from the 1970's. into the early 80's.
Thank god a reaction without interruptions, i love your react.
Thanks!
I LISTENED TO THAT ON VINYL WHEN I WAS 9 YEARS OLD. THAT WAS 1981 AND I WAS / AM HOOKED. YOU TREAT THIS WITH RESPECT. THAT IS ART.
3:18 Brian May wrote the solo
It's so funny when she realises she can't keep up with this forever changing classic 😂
Im So happy 😁💕 to see the younger generation who have never even heard of Queen and other bands from the 70's and 80's. Realize that you have missed out of over 60 yrs of awesome rock music 🎵. Rock on Girl friend!
I first saw queen in 1977 and a massive fan since.yep I'm over 60. And since the death of Freddie Mercury in 1991 ,ihavent really been into much music , until a year ago when I heard ghost love score from nightwish and wow wow I'm now an avid nightwish fan ,not sure if I'm ever gonna get to see them .but luckily I've got you tube for that.keep up the good work,..
Try "Somebody to Love" by Queen Live at Montreal!
YESSSS - My favorite
One of his best performances ever!!
Their music changes lives, even after all these years....
Changed mine. Second biggest love of my life from 1973 after Everton from 1969, and before meeting my wife in 1986!
i am from the era when queen was always there, its so wonderful to see new reactions to the power and glory of Queen and Freddie.. so long as new people experience them
Bohemian Rhapsody is pronounced; Bo-he-me-an Rap-sad-ee
Bohemian Rhapsody was written, in 1975, by the late Freddie Mercury (lead vocals and pianist), the falsetto (high pitched) vocals was provided by Roger Taylor (vocals and drums), the bass player John Deacon (white suit), the guitar solos is by Brian May PhD (guitar and vocals, with the striped shirt, playing a guitar he and his father made out of an old table top.) And no Autotune anywhere in sight.
Great reaction....very thoughtful. You are a great communicator. I caught them on this tour in the States and it was awesome. Queen had to leave the stage in the middle section because they couldn't replicate it live.
The greatest song ever written! And this was one of the best reaction vids ever!
You’re right. The 70’s kicked ass.
I am a bloody Bohemian Rhapsody Reaction Tourist, and I enjoyed your reaction a lot! :D Welcome to Queen
It is most unusual. But yeah sometimes you know the song but not the name nor artist who created it (band or composer). Also sometimes you hear a song but you're not really listening or feeling it. It's why sometimes solitary listening helps appreciation for it as a piece. Then you listen to it with others and connect.
You can also learn vocabulary, learn how to read. Generally speaking, educate yourself.
@@Darjeelingla Okay
Your reaction to the 'opera bit' was funny:)....'Take me back, music of the 70's so much better'...aaah, music to my ears. Queen are the soundtrack to my childhood, you can't go wrong with any of their stuff. I miss those days.
This song takes me on a Rollercoaster ride. I heard ,but this is just me, that when he says he killed a man it was him killing the man he was pretending to be. It was his coming out
Love this song. Great reaction.
Its nice to see someone who plays the whole song and not keep butting in thank you very much
Bohemian Rhapsody is the very song of our lives. Simply
Love of my life is a great song from queen.its about Freddie loving his wife so much
I love that this song requires the listener to headbang. It's involuntary.
3 songs Mercury wanted to produce and he put this (Rhapsody ) together.
This was the greatest song from history's greatest band
Never to be matched
@@toxidermist2697 Oh right, so Brian May is wrong then, as that's what he told it meant, in person, when i asked him. Go tell him
@@Retrospective. it's cool that Brian told you this, but it doesn't make any sense.
If you like that one, try the one about the bicycle. It's a little obscure. But Freddie Mercury was classically trained for more than decade in Opera! When you hear the falsetto, it's him. Rest in peace Freddie Mercury
Try hearing Queen live in Montreal in 1981 singing "Someone to Love". You will hear how great Freddy Mercury can sing in this live version.
Freddie Mercury wrote this and all he would ever say about the song's meaning was that it was very personal to him and he refused to elaborate further until the day he died. No one knows, in other words.
because there is nothing to know
I always felt the meaning and lyrics are pretty straightforward.
I believe this is His Death/Rebirth on a Level so deep only few would understand.
A interesting fact about Queen...the guitar player has a PhD in Astrophysics
Great to see the appreciation of such great music, by the young today. Perhaps when you see us old guys walk on by, you'll realise what we have lived through and loved, and the huge souls that gave us?
Agreed!!! Take me back to the 70's, the best music in history came out of that decade.
In the Dutch 2000 on the radio its always number 1. 16 years in a row! Only one time It became second. After Hotel California...
Brian May says no, but listen to it and make up your own mind.
yay! the 70's were my teen years,
I may be biased but I still think we had the best music.
You are so cool!
Keep up the great work!
Love your reactions!!!
Love the reaction 💖
Nice reaction
Queen is iconic across the board
Bohemian Rhapsody is a magnificent rock opera, in three parts. As you listen to the song, look for three subjects and associated music. The first part involves murder, and recognition of it and its impact. The second, the chaos, circus, accusations and counter accusations. The third, acceptance of the verdict. Note that the last note is s single strike on a symbol, allowed to die. This is not just a song, it is truely a composition. Bohemian Rhapsody, Queen, and Freddy Mercury will live forever.
Hi - hello to a fellow bass player - seeing your smile - made me think of me discovering my parents music from the 60s
You did the right thing to listen to this with headphones 🙂
Great reaction. “Can we go back to the 70’s?” Ha ha, I was fortunate enough to be 12 in 1970 so experienced the 70”’s to the fullest as a teenager growing up on the Canadian prairies. And yes some of the most outstanding music came out of the 70’s.
Just for the record, this song was recorded in Wales, Rockfield studios near Monmouth.
Wales has inspired many musicians. Robert Plant did a lot of writing in the northern part. Not coming to mind but several other artists I have read on also.
Exactly, how Freddie wanted it. He would never explain it.
The way they do it is amazing
@@iygirl he said in one of his interviews that he does not want to explain his songs because it would destroy it. I mean the expectations of the listeners. Let it leave to them to interpret however they wish. 😁
It's one of those songs that takes specific personal experiences to understand. You know if you know, and if not, revisiting it to explain isn't worth it to most with the necessary experience. Painful memories, trauma.
There are documentaries about this but Freddie doesn't give a straight answer in them either
(edit: pun is intended in many ways)
Freddie wrote the whole song in college
Awesome reaction!
When this song was used in Wayne's World (1992) it became popular again and some young folks who never hear it before thought the song title was Bohemian Rap City.
Queen has touched every walks of life ,as they have a little bit everything in their music ,
it is so versatile that everyone can listen to their music an enjoy it!..😎
Great review!..👍
I also liked the Get down make love song!...😊
First time? You will deffo listen to this at least twice over!

That was a fun reaction. Can’t wait to see more Queen reactions. When you do watch the movie, come back and react to the real live aid performance. (Doesn’t matter you saw the excellent re-creation)
Just an afterthought ... you mentioned the muppets. Were you referring to their version or did you not know that the muppets actually had a version. It’s a fun thing to watch. (FYI - they DO get around the dark lyrics)
Loved your reaction---you looked like you really enjoyed this master piece---that is the way the song should be enjoyed--you will love the movie too---thanks
