I've been a Nightwish fan for almost 25 years now, but I'm sorry. There is no way I can put them on the same level as Queen or Pink Floyd. Just my 2¢, but just no.
Greatest Rock Band in history............Freddie Mercury, THE greatest stage presence of all time....incredible vocals......amazing energy....the absolute GOAT ! RIP dear, amazing Freddie Mercury.
September 1980, Madison Square Garden, I got to witness this live. Honestly, my favorite song of the night was a Brian May song "Save Me", a new song from The Game album. It starts off with him at the piano, his "Red Special" in his lap, and Freddie opening up the song. A must watch! When the stage went dark, they used the original "operatic" section from the album. Brian has stated that it's impossible to recreate live due to the multiple layers. No problem, it's epic! This is about halfway through the show. If you watch the whole thing, he comes out in a leather jacket and slowly loses his clothes until he's just in a pair of shorts, barefoot wearing a cape and crown for the finale.
I had the honor and privilege of seeing Queen live in 1977, their "News of the World" tour. It was my first concert ever (I was 13). It set the bar impossibly high for all future shows.
Freddie is the GOAT when it comes to frontmen. No ifs or buts. it's not debateable, it's a stone cold fact. Nobody like it before him and nobody like him since and there will NEVER EVER another one for the ret of time to come. If he was still alive, he'd have probably written the guide to stage presence himself as he perfected it.
You've got to See their 1985 full set at the Live-Aid Show.. That'll totally convince you that He Truly was The Best Frontman in Rock History!!! IMHO..
Freddie started the show wearing leather jacket, shirt, and jeans, but the lighting and his phenomenal energy started to "burn" his clothes off and at the end of this Montreal concert he was barefoot, wearing just a bandana and white short shorts. 😅
he has always had great stage presence and was one of the greatest performer. like she said, he not only sings with his voice but his whole body. in my opinion, there is only a handful of performers that were the same where perform their songs with their whole being like he did
Feeling you feeling him feeling them feeling it Shirt is a non issue The King of Queen❤ Somebody to love from the same show please 😅 Love from Cape Town South Africa 🇿🇦
hallo sweet heart.. i miss your deep and touching and emotional reactions it's time for guardian nusantara reactions by alffy rev Guardian nusantara is a sequel to wonderland indonesia part 1 and part 2
Their energy was always so high…you should know this is the end of the show, before the encores. It’s an amazing performance & even at the piano Freddie’s emotional presence is front & center…I always found it interesting how off to the side his piano was on stage. Freddie was often less dressed by the end of a show lol
The show begins with Freddie in a Superman tank and black jacket. The jacket came off a couple of songs in and the tank followed several songs later. You can see the shirt hanging from his waistband. The lights were likely very warm but Freddie also squabbled with the filmmaker about wardrobe continuity. By the end, Freddie is wearing shorts and no shoes! Also, notice that the a cappella intro is skipped. Freddie is singing all the harmonies on the studio version so not replicable onstage. Another commenter already pointed out that the operatic section is the original recording. 180 overdubs were used to create the chorus effect in studio so, also, not reproducible onstage. Thanks.
I have seen many legendary bands in concert. I have three regrets. One is never having a chance to see Queen live. The other two are Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd.
Now watch the full Live Aid set of some 22 minutes. Charity concert at Wembley Stadium UK twinned with a concert in Philadelphia USA. You won't regret it in the slightest. Queen 👑 walked away victorious! They stole the show! Freddie had the audience in one hand and the microphone in the other hand! th-cam.com/video/ngf1KF2_kPI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=kkQDOVGOBcnhCwZs When you watch the set, you will know who Queen is.
A well-developed & thought out set list, rehearsed choreography and rote recitation is essential for any successful band, well, except Queen. Their bad performances are still worlds better than anything you can see today. Freddie never sang the same song in the same way. He truly was a master, and was, is, and always will be a legend taken too soon. RIP buddy!
Just leaving a p.s.a., Ren has asked the reaction community to support his latest video "kujo beat down". I still think you are missing out on a you experiencing a gold mine of musical experiences by not doing any more Ren. The theatricality in the 13 minute "Tale of Jenny and screech" is jaw dropping
i think we are in need of some metal reactions in this channel ; ) would like to suggest the Clansman Iron Maiden Rock In Rio 2001 ; ) that would be fun, must stage things to react on that one
Like the reaction, thanks 👍 I have a suggestion, can you please react to "like a tattoo" by Sade, live from San Diego??? It's one of the best songs I've ever heard
I'm wondering what it would cost me to have you react to a Led Zeppelin cover by Heart ..I'm not a guy who can afford to have my favorite reactor react to a song I know will floor her. All winners if I can get you to see this one.
I wasn't taking notes, but I thiink he ditched the shirt during Brian May's big guitar solo. Yes, they had energy, they had pyrotechnics, they had harmonies, and of course they were loaded with ambiguity. But as I was watching, I became more confused. This is a very powerful song, with very powerful lyrics, yet, for me, the staging did nothing to advance or illustrate the story. In fact doing a shirtless strut while singing nothing really matters is downright bizarre.
He is hot like a Spaniard, he sings like a Scandinavian angel, he's from Hawaii. Can you react to a song without having watched it (yes) first? If so, check out *A shadow in the Dark* by *Shel Rasten* I dare you to not fall for him: th-cam.com/video/cEldDtn4t9s/w-d-xo.html
Can't imagine why you're getting a fit over this performance - there are MANY better version from concerts around the world than this. Try the Queen Live Aid set - which blew away all the other great stars at the event
Was popular in 70s and 80s for rock musicians to go bare chested or just a shirt opened to the waist. Robert Plant, Roger Daltrey, Freddie always started with a t-shirt and leather jacket. I think probably he just got very hot under the lights, as he stripped down usually got a Hugh cheer from the audience.
He's the greatest front man in the history of rock and roll.
When it comes to making music big and epic, nothing beats Queen, Pink Floyd, and Nightwish! This is art from another planet!
Couldn't agree more to all three. It's more than music - it's essence of life.
I've been a Nightwish fan for almost 25 years now, but I'm sorry. There is no way I can put them on the same level as Queen or Pink Floyd. Just my 2¢, but just no.
Tool hold my beer
Freddie was the best showman that ever lived and the best that will ever be.
music comes from heart...and his heart was gigantic like his voice
Best frontman that has ever been
ABSOLUTELY..Saw them in 82 New Haven Coliseum. No band can match their live concerts!
Greatest Rock Band in history............Freddie Mercury, THE greatest stage presence of all time....incredible vocals......amazing energy....the absolute GOAT ! RIP dear, amazing Freddie Mercury.
This song is a classic. I surprised that you never heard it before. I'm glad you enjoyed it so much.

I really love this song😢❤
Few artists have as much stage presence than Freddie Mercury...matched with his singing and artistic skills.
Freddie started the show wearing leather jacket, shirt, and jeans, but the lighting and his phenomenal energy started to "burn" his clothes off and at the end of this Montreal concert he was barefoot, wearing just a bandana and white short shorts. 😅
As it should be .. short shorties alert! 🚨

I never understood the shirtless look. it just looks like they can't afford one. Maybe the broke look is relatable?
