MOLLY PICKLUM TEAHUPOO WIPEOUT!

In the lead up to the Paris 2024 Olympic held at Teahupoo in Tahiti Molly Picklum spent some time getting to know the wave. On a swell in October 2023 Molly spent a few weeks in Teahupoo alongside Sierra Kerr and the crew getting to work. Early one morning before the crowd Moll;y hit the lineup early in hopes to get a wave that could change her life. Here is a short behind the scenes moment of what it's like to ride a famous wave at Teahupoo.

that is so heavy and terrifying. i am happy you are well and in tact after that, Molly. i am not a teahupoo expert, but that seemed too deep to me, regardless of pumps, how big or small, or otherwise. serious guts for charging that :) proud of you :)

Molly and three or four others have raised the bar for women's surfing in waves of consequence the last 2 years. Got the first 10 at pipe for the women's comp.Betty Lou, Caitlin and Molly absolutely charged decent pipe this year then went ballistic at Teahupoo.

100% the stepoff wrecked it like Lennox said. She just had zero speed down the face. Couldn’t gain any speed. Surely just paddle, they won’t be doing stepoffs at the Olympics 🤙🏻😎

Stepoffs. You stepoff the side of the jetski and straight onto your board. It’s tricky to perfect/get used to. If you do it properly, you’ll be flying as soon as you hit the water. Clearly this is not a good example of how to do it. 🙏🏻

@lancejackson3618 Wow not seen that before. Seems to complicate an already difficult situation- though could add momentum if done right, I suppose. Hideous wipeouts though, I'd imagine with the added bonus of losing a jet ski as well!
