Bro hearing your worst wipeout at the start gave me anxiety, I am so happy you got that breath before you went over for a second time, I could feel your panic inside me as I have been in similar spots just not as life threatening, amazing video btw.
That quiet place is the only place where we truly feel alive and free. Mahalo bro for your wisdom. I've been trying to find my self after loosing a loved one. And you truly help me do that. Mahalo
I've traveled the world with Dom but my most favorite trips are the ones where I am able to join him at Teahupo’o! Dom is one with the water and you won't understand that unless you witness it in person. He's genuine, a jokester with an infectious laugh. I miss him and I miss Teahupo’o! Thanks for such a great piece on my buddy Dom Dom!
@Beth Lyden howdy and THANK U for taking the nanosecond/time to type the whole name- proper name-- kool name!!!! I'm sure Many People appreciate a billion times more than me!! I do too, that's why I'm complimenting U!!!! smiles joy and good luck to you and yours
So beautiful!! That wave is a freak of nature.....when professionals get hurt or worked there, I'm a intermediate surfer and there is NO WAY I'd surf there!
This deserves so many more likes and views than it has. Fantastic story telling, wonderful job in creating the mood, and capturing the experience...just phenomenal work.
10:09 the way the guy look at the wave is so unique, dropping one of the most difficult waves in the world and still had time to appreciate the moment, what a clip!
PLEASE! Keep Teahupo'o as it is. NEVER to be developed with nasty buildings for money! I beg you. Absolutely stunning. It needs nothing but love and respect. Thanks for the eye candy, beautiful imagery🥰🤙😃
So much respect. No board, no floatation, and heavy camera in tow. i’ve only lost my board a few times in 20+ years of surfing, and each time was the most scared i’ve ever been in the water. I can’t imagine doing what he does. Fins or not, you have to be in some serious shape.
Wonderful. Teahupoo is beautiful and has the most beautiful and scary waves when they are big. The guy on the speedboat smoking one haha. And what an image the guy must have had in the last wave. He looking at the top and inside the wave... you don't see any surfer admiring this beauty above his head. Congratulations on the beautiful work.
Anyone can film from a boat but you put yourself in the water up close and personal with the Surfers that is serious photography! Please stay safe Aloha brother and thank you for putting yourself on the line amazing shots!
such amazing video, The most important thing in the water is a photograph who record the moment in the best place at the best time without fearing ❤ without u we cannot live the moment with all the surfers
This is the first time seeing this. This was a beautiful explanation of how the photographer is very much a part of the story in the photos or videos they take. Mr. Mosqueira your work is amazing.
Thanks for the comment Michael. He’s a beast! If you have a chance check out some of our other films and if you like them please subscribe! Appreciate the support Brotha!
Hearing about the wipeouts at the start of the video I noticed I was holding my breath and feeling really anxious...that’s the stuff of nightmares. Mad respect to you (and anyone) who takes nature on like that
outasight!!/ thanks for putting up something so informative but tightly held by nature + beauty.. ie, I like your insight, stay safe around that beast!
“That sinking feeling…” “I need air now!” Brought back some intense memories. Insane. Perfect description of how that feels when you get man handled by Mother Nature.
Lived in Tahiti for 25 yrs. and the worst case scenario he described can happen at any of the reef passes there when the swell is pumping - pure, absolute TERROR. Easily some of the best, craziest, baddest locals on the planet hands down when the ocean gets angry.
Very cool interview, I tried my luck out there as novice August 2020 and Dom was out there shooting nearly every session, dedicated to the craft and that spot.
Hearing his story reminds me of the old days. You're caught between panic and clarity, but somehow you get through it and thank fuck you're still alive, but exhilarated and scared shitless still.
@@PirateandPalm You're welcome. It has everything I have not seen about that magical place. I love the way it goes from his drama of nearly drowning to the bridge, the village, the dope shots of that reef, surfers, body boarders et al. Fantastic!
@@alhassant9204 I am so happy you enjoyed it. A lot went into this film so it's great to see people like you really appreciate it all. We will be putting out new videos every Friday and hope you continue to enjoy all the new content.
hearing about that wipeout experience is something that kinda scares me going into bigger waves. I've never surfed anything like teahupo'o before and I'm honestly not too sure how to go about it. it looks amazing though and this video showed me a little more about what it may be like. thank you for making this video man, really appreciated it
That was a great watch, Good story and some amazing water photography from Dom. That one shot of Jon is incredible. Maybe one of the best wide angle shots I've seen from Tahiti. That wipeout story is mental, would love to come shoot that wave one day. Looks incredible. Great work to all involved
