That sportback looks so good with the Evo front. But as someone who thinks STis are a waste for most people, I feel like the Evo is as well. That being said, you can get the Evo in a manual which is a significant advantage for fun driving.
It does look great doesn't it, the Evo is definitely the better car for me but obviously not for everyone so it's good that there's an option to suit different people and their needs
Great comparative video between the RA and EVO X, please keep them coming👍 Outta curiosity, in terms of weight, my NSW rego papers for my 2014 Ralliart Sedan says 1522kg, can you tell me what the rego papers say for the EVO X and the RA sport back?? I’m curious to know exactly what the difference is, thanks mate!!
Thanks mate I appreciate it 🙏 Its so hard to find official weights are our papers up here in QLD don't seem to list weight on them so going off carsales here says the MR weighs 1620kgs But then it says RA weighs 1590kgs but I know that isn't accurate. I have always heard its about 70-90kgs difference though
Yes, exaclty even at the slow speeds I take corners I don't like how much play there is in the steering wheel of the Ralliart compared to the Evo so I could only imagine the difference at 220
Thanks man, so its just an unbranded Android unit you can get off ebay but them to use the Rockford Fosgate you need an extra adaptor which the seller on eBay will usually sell as an added extra
I am really more curious how different the X is than the RA when pushing 9/10ths on unmaintained dirt not tarmac or asphalt. If the wider track and more advanced AWD system make a difference to an average Joe. My RA SB has impressed me on our oilfield roads. Pushing over 85mph/140kmh, not quite pushing hard enough to utilize it but playing with the lift off oversteer. Ground clearance seems to be the limiting factor, already busted one oil pan playing with an outlander sport(rvr?) who couldn't even begin to keep up.
When pushing our RA i didn't feel like it was as confidence inspiriting and the steering wasn't as sharp and predictable. I have a friend who races a RA sportback and an Evo X FE and even though the RA is a full on stripped out racecar and the FE just has bolt ons and coilovers the RA is still slower
Before purchasing my RA brand new, luckily the Mitsu dealer gave me a Lancer evolution for 3 days (weekend) so i had a while to do a good comparison....1000kms of it..i bought the Ralliart...i would say much to the dealers disappointment lol...So glad i made the right decision and saved thousands of dollars wich i then put into the RA resulting in a better, quicker car...and STILL saved Thousands......i think its more of Ego than Evo. Your video would have been more accurate if both cars had of been stock standard btw.
Yeah the Evo is definitely not for everyone and obviously I prefer the ot over the Ralliart but everyone has different preferences. Both are amazing cars though and I'm glad we have been able to own both. Yeah these are both pretty modified so hard to compare in a lot of aspects but when test driving the stock RA it definitely feels a lot slower than a stock Evo but really nobody leaves them stock for long haha
Hey man, wheels are personal preference but I'd say get any style you like that's around 18x8.5 +35 to 18x9.5 +38 Exterior mods there's lots of little things you can do so checkout the previous videos I made on this ralliart Sportback in the video
idk if you'll respond but I noticed the ralliart has an evo grill, is it possible to swap the ralliart grill with the evo grill? or is it an evo bumper?
@@PR1NCETD0T the STI does come in auto though but it's just a generic torque convertor auto and can't handle the power so is slower than the manual. With the Evo the MR is faster so they definitely should have made it

Yeah its looks great Right?
Has become one of my favourite colours on the X now
Aways wanted the rally red but can't find one so I end up with the wicked white

When you're peeling off a straight at 220 and coming into a sweeper at 160 you want the smallest turning circle so less room for error if you get lose

What front rotors are those?
Looks good
Both cars are running DBA rotors but the MR has the 2 piece
the only unnoticeable thing different on both are their rear absorber towers
The chassis stiffness and steering are the main noticeable differences especially when driving the cars hard

It's an Evo X replica front bumper, we then added evo x rexpeed fog light delete and some mesh as a grille

Thanks mate
whats the front bumper on the ralliart
Hey mate, its an Evo X replica bumper
Should’ve just made the rallyart the “MR” version of the evo and the gsr is the manual. Mitsubishi could’ve saved a lot of money that way.
Nah they needed to make the Ralliart to compete with the WRX and keep the Evos to compete with the STI
@@JacksonStrain yea what i meant was, they didn’t have to make an MR (auto version of the evo) since sti’s are manual only as well.
@@PR1NCETD0T the STI does come in auto though but it's just a generic torque convertor auto and can't handle the power so is slower than the manual.
With the Evo the MR is faster so they definitely should have made it
I thought in the United States domestic Market the regular Lancers 2008 and up did U- turns much tighter than EVO's of the same era
If they're the front wheel drive models then yes they do
@@JacksonStrain so could you theoretically put a standard Lancer power steering rack in a Ralliart to give it the same agility as the evo or am I getting things backwards
I don't think it's that easy unfortunately as AK racing tried to do that on their Ralliart track car
Do you still prefer the Evo X as an overall car?
Yeah I definitely do, the only real downside is the smaller boot and the turning circle but both of those i can live with
Haha I definitely know the struggles of the poor turning radius of the Evo
Haha yeah it's something you get used to pretty fast but can be a pain at tight intersections
Handbrake U-turn....if you get caught tell the cop you did it on accident lol
