I got the $2 per month and I used the VPN on all my devices and really liked it. Now I'm not sure if I will keep the service.
I have and use Google One. I am very disappointed we will lose the VPN through Google One. However, I will keep the extra storage.
I had the original Pixel, the 3, and have the 6. Waiting to see the final specs on the new Fold before I decide what to do next.
Since the VPN is in Pixel settings with the 7 and above, I likely will have it again soon when I upgrade.
Not happy about the potential wait until October for the specs on the 9s and the next iteration of the Fold ... but will upgrade to a Pixel of some kind as I have been very happy with the Pixel line since its beginning.
Also have the Pixel tablet, which has been the main driver for looking hard at the Folds 😉 ...
Google should give the 100 GB tier something extra now that they took away the free photos postage and VPN. 20 Magic Editor edits and "circle to search" would be welcome.

Google one VPN has no use case as you can't bounce your location, so what Google is doing, doesn't cut for me at all

I have the 2T plan and been using the VPN since day 1.
I'm thinking about changing this now.
Here in the UK, the premium Google One option has Fitbit Premium and Nest Aware included. I'd trade the VPN for that any day, and I expect other countries to get it at some point.
It should just be the "one" subscription. Bundle everything together.

I use Google 1 and share storage with my family to keep photos. VPN was a major sell point for us. I'll see if we can transfer our data to another storage service that provides better benefits.
It's a bummer and a classic for Google to change things last minute, not to mention the condition of living with bugs etc... I personally use VPN feature on different devices soon I won't be able to which is unfortunate

I have the 2tb subscription and do use vpn. As you know, i have an iPhone 15pm, and do use it on that too.

I have Google 1, the 200GB plan. I didn't know it had a VPN, I just thought it was cloud storage.

I pay for another VPN, but I would use the Google One VPN occasionally. I agree that while it's great all those features are going mainstream, it does feel like my subscription is worth less. What they should do is drop the price of the AI Premium and just make that the main 2TB Premium plan.
I have been using the Google One VPN since day one, so this is a bummer to me. I'm glad my pixel will still have it, but I'll miss it on my other devices on the rare instance I had to connect to public Wi-Fi
I really liked the VPN when I was just doing normal daily activities. I have a more secure VPN if privacy is something I care about at that time. I will miss the Google VPN due to ease of use.
I only used for storage the rest was a bonus.

I do use the Google one VPN. It came with the subscription so I might as well use it
I have the 100gb plan really for the storage but the exclusive features were a nice perk. Ive used the VPN once or twice while out and its better to have it than not. Even though it wasnt been used often it was there, with so many features being removed they need to update the pricing or add new features.
I have G1 and wasn't even made aware of VPN, just set it up for what it's worth. Hopefully will get a few months use at least.
I use a $2 subscription because if I don't pay, Google notifies me all the time that my memory is full and that I may not receive emails. 😂
Google is very boring with that but I will not pay $2 😂
I actually forgot that I got Google One free with my Chromebook. I have no idea when that expires though, so that'll be fun to see XD
I've got a subscription and I used the VPN a bit but stopped because you couldn't change your location. What I did like was you could select which apps would bypass the VPN. I'm not sure ultimately if I would miss the VPN.

I've never used Google's VPN mainly because it had few options and also I don't much trust Google anyways. That said, they have a ton of my data at this point but I generally do not use VPN's as a service.
I have a subscription but thankfully, now, use Fi's vpn.
I have the 2 euro subscription, specifically for photo storage. So none of these things I see as loses even though the 2 euro subscription lost value while the expansive option gained value. I guess I have my own user statistics to blame as google saw a way to allocate funds to where it maximizes growth potential.
I have Samsung portable SSD t5 with 4 TB and is thousand times faster than that cloud and I don't need internet.. I would like to know if you got your clouds with lots of pics and videos how long will take you to find the one you looking for ?? even in 5G connection will take ages for Google photos showing all your staff 😅 if google wanted for 0.50$ month is not worth for me, no thank google!

I use the VPN whenever I connect to wifi away from home.
Even after buying google one (mainly for photos) I pay for NordVPN it's just a better product. Besides you could always use free vpns in a pinch like proton suite which is all free
Have the lower subscription ... Am a bit miffed that they are removing benefits and not the price ... Or at least bring the unlimited edits to all subscriptions!! I didn't use the VPN specifically because of its lack of being able to select the region.
I keep the VPN on just because i have it. It would be nice if they keep it. I dont use public wifi but its still good to have. I know u cant change The region just like other VPN. I think thay why people didnt care for it. If they did it would be here now. One les subscription is a plus

I have Google One but I get VPN free with my Pixel Fold I love it no changes but better enhanced
I am now thinking about canceling One again and again to use onedrive from the MS Office abo. vpn away, google photos advantages away, who knows what will soon be omitted... I'm really disappointed
Just so it's clear though, the Photos advantages aren't gone. You're just getting them for free now.

@@JDRos you must have looked at the eclipse without glasses. TH-cam Music is a downgrade compared to Google Music. Is trash. Also, they haven't improve the music matching for auto-playlists. That tells you that service is not a priority for them.

Zune went away, Groove went away, iTunes changed ... I don't like or need a sub music service, just buy what I like ... then the service goes poof! Tired of rebuilding a library that becomes orphaned. For me, the music died ...
