You just don't understand how cool this video is. I hope that you do this for more than just the great Google Pixel fold, but, other phones /foldables you may happen to own. Well done! 👍I had no idea that there were so many interesting gadgets for the Fold. Again, thank you for your research. Keep up the great work!
@@scaryifliteral I'm sure that it does take a while to get together. To me the extra gadgets, etc, and, the search of is part of the adventure of a new smartphone!
Man, love your videos. I have the official google case for my fold which I like. But, I did receive my pitaka case last night. I decided to have the back case only on and it looks unbelievable. Very little protection but looks perfect.
Also, while it doesn't come with an alignment tool like the ESR ones do, the Nillkin MagSafe rings are a good alternative that doesn't have as sharp of edges as the ESR ones.
I bought the JETech case as a hold over until i could decide which case to get but honestly its good enough for me that ill probably just keep using it for the foreseeable future
I also believe the sopiguard skin currently only wraps the entire phone. I bought two and they go over the sides and front. Which I prefer for grip but it's a little finicky to put on and you must use heat to wrap it over the edges. Im hoping they'll make a back only skin soon for those who arent good at wrapping.
The back piece fits fine on my Pitaka. It's the front piece that's a bit loose. The left corners also lift up when the phone is closed. Pitaka is sending me a replacement because of that.
The 1st gen Pixel Stand is also the cheapest way to get a google charger and USB-c cable. I picked a 1st gen Stand on your recommendation for $18 on Amazon. It came with the charging block and cable. The Google Store sells the 30W charger for $25 and the cable for an additional $20. Now I am not sure if the stand's charger is 30W or not, but my Pixel Fold does say "charging rapidly" when I plug it in directly. The charger is plugged in behind my desk so I cannot get to it to confirm. If anyone knows what wattage the stand charger is please let everyone know.
do not purchase the PITAKA - i ordered the case and it's day 12 and i do not have it and the support is not great. I had to give up and go get another case..
I pre ordered the z fold 5 with the blue s pen case and have been looking for good accessories including a kickstand (maybe a future video 😉) I did like the one on your z fold 4 but can not get it where I live 🙈
I got the Pitaka case and it's almost perfect, but I do have a skin on my Fold so I didn't experience the fitment issues in your review. I also got it recent so wondering if they made any improvements to the latest batch since it was out of stock for some time. MagSafe is a must for me since I also carry my iPhone 14 Max and I just for too used to having MagSafe on cases at this point.
Shane, this is like the 3rd time watching this video. Ive gotta ask your thoughts on the pixel stand. Ive picked up the stand 2 but the max wireless charging is 7.5 watts. That is mind blowing. Is having the fan worth it? The gen 1 stabd for 19.99 seems like a decent option. Or maybe just stick to regular wired charging?
The fan won't speed up the charging (in a form that matters). But heat generation is a significant part of battery life. The warmer your phone gets while charging, the worst it is for its lifespan. So yeah 40$ is a huge price bump, but considering what u spend on your phone it might be worth the price tag.
I really want to get a fold but I'm finding them much harder to find second hand than duos when they first came out. I was able to get a duo for like 300 bucks less than 2 months after its release. Nothing close to deals like that for a pixel fold.
All those cases leading to rapid overheating of the device. It is extremely critical for folds because their tiny soft screens, covered by plastic are rapidly burning out and losing blue color.. Having abad experience with them especially at car holder.
None of these cases led to rapid overheating, or overheating of any sort. Each of them was used for at least a few days. I can vouch for several myself, and have people I trust who can vouch for the others.
@@scaryifliteralall cases are basically heat insulators. It is no constantly hot, but inner temperature is higher and quickly raises. You can't easily notice it but in use it for GPS for example in car it cannot for example take charge because of temperature.
Bro, I have reason to believe that you don't sleep. 😂. Keep up the good work.
Not enough
😂
Now I changed from Surface Duo 2 to Pixel fold. And I'm kinds 50/50 but still loving it because there are many options of cases out there.

I've done something similar for a few phones now. Takes a while to get together.

Something worth noting with the DBrand leather skin: I love mine, too, but it *does* make a reasonably water-proof phone water-sensitive again.

I didn't get a replacement for mine, but I did get a refund and so now I just live with the front being a little wonky lol
@@samanthamarasca8864 I have been sent two replacements now. I'm also now just living with the front being a bit wonky.

Can you recommend good stick on kick stands for foldable phones? Really appreciate it
I've never personally tested one that worked well for me. The closest thing I've used would have been a case with a stand.

I bought the later case, just waiting for it to come in
