In the Dynamic Subdivision section of this video. After hitting DSDiv and clicking Make Boolean Mesh, I get one whole polygroup instead of several different ones. Anyone know what might be going on?
How do you merge subtools without loosing the boolean operation details?, because when I do merge down those boolean substractions disappear even though I put MAKE BOOLEAN MESH, thanks
@@MichaelPavlovich Is this technique of boolean operations recommended for a model that will be decimated, retopologize and animated? I tried using those options but the boolean operation of substraction dissappears., don't know what else can I do?
@@deadstem_dj Sure, that's exactly what I did in the sci fi pistol series: th-cam.com/play/PLkzopwqcFevbWhV669XJZNclPLaIpO9de.html This was created before the option to add folders, so you won't see the boolean folder technique (I don't really use start meshes anymore because of this), but fwiw
Answering in the teacher's name, you'd want to do a Mirror and Weld to make sure your object is perfectly symmetrical. Symmetry is useful for working on a sigle side and having changes reflect in the other one.
You won't be seeing your applied Booleans in the same Tool you worked with. "Make Boolean Mesh" creates a whole new Tool where your work is collapsed. Switch between Tools to spot your recently created Boolean Mesh.
this is the best bool zbrush tut because it shows you how to refine the mesh after the fact. THANKKKKS sooo much
Your tutorials are life savers, thank you!!
Great refresher, Mike!

Tool > Subtool > Boolean > Make Boolean Mesh will create a new UMesh in your tool palette (that you can append to your current tool)
