The scissors are meant to lock only after you spread the jaws. Weird but cool mechanism to keep them folded tight when they are put away.

Leathermans are absolute beasts. Ive had the wave for years and it never fails me.

They’re not nail nicks on the tools like a SAK, you’re supposed to push in with your thumb and they all pop out, then fan to the tool you want. Makes for easy one handed opening.
Thank you so much for leaving this comment! I got mine today, and was using another tool to pop open these middle tools because it was breaking my thumbnail. I just tried what you wrote, and they popped right open!
Yes, I figured that out afterwards. That works out really well.
The scissor will lock on when the spring settle down. So you should open it fully. If you got used to the free P4,you wont have pain on the Arc

@@TeeFetch ,it is an amazing one handed opening and closing,it's best so far,my only grip the should have made main blade with the sheep foot a tad longer an put a T-shank adapter on it an left tic marks on there as well as all leatherman usually do an possibly put the eagle claw style can opener on it,just my opinion an it would be even greater,but with that said, people do mods these tools so I'm sure I could get someone to do it for me to make it more of what I need an prefer,so far no regrets on my purchas,I use it more than my surge mostly cause it's quick to deploy an especially one handed friendly, people in my family and friends an co workers like it,surge is my king for heavier duty tasks an work horse. The Arc is much lighter an for pocket carry if you choose to do so, also I wished they had included a lanyard loop to tie on it in the package to make it easier pulling out of the pouch or pocket.

@@Robs_Nerdy_Knives Thank you for the information. I am asking because I am from VIETNAM and I have bought a leatherman arc sale in USA only and so worry it's a counterfeit since the bit kit was produce in Vietnam. Now seems like it's not for sure.

that's why i bought a Vic. Spirit XC (serrated blade) because didn't pinch my palm like a gerber/leatherman had in the past. That's been my criteria every sense.@@Robs_Nerdy_Knives

That’s weird your scissors are doing that. My Arcs scissors lockup fine. I’d maybe see about exchanging that’s one for another
It’s breaking in. I suspect it is a tuning thing and I’m okay with it break in. It’s not terrible and they do lock up, so that’s good. I do not use that tool enough for it to be a concern for me. I just like to have them when I need them in those rare cases. All my other tools are great.
Scissors lock in once you release the scissor handle (the one you push with your thumb) from the rest of the assembly.
@houseofstylz yes. That works. It’s what passes the point where the spring engages and gives it tension to stay open. 👍
I prefer my Gerber multi tools.
Use what like and are comfortable! 👍✌️🤜💥🤛 There are option for us all. Someday I’d love to compare them, so who knows how I’d feel then. It may be a factor of what I need at the moment.
leatherman is hands down the worst most over priced company there is they completely against what there customers want and they just discontinue things with no for warning of any kind they are a total joke never give them any money
