I love how Americans claim this is such an expensive multitool and the price is so controversial. For some of us in other countries this is 450-500 dollars after VAT/shipping, I would pick up one of these for 230 without even blinking haha
Initially didn't care for the sound effects, but I watched to the end and I REALLY appreciate this video. I work in industrial maintenance, but I'm also into camping/bushcraft activities, so I'm in the woods a lot too and yours is the only video I've seen using it in that type of situation. I've been a swisstool fan for 15 years, and I was shopping to replace my old X when I came across the ARC. I'm a little sketched with the wire cutters and I'm not sold on the bit driver, but it's got the toolset I like and a magnacut blade, so I ordered one this evening. I got it for $160 plus tax (military discount), so it was really just a few bucks more than I would have spent on an X. Hoping it doesn't disappoint.
Straight away those pliers breaking and jamming on the hard cutters mean its not worth $230. Its not as good as the original leatherman even because of that. Stop letting manufacturers get away with this trash. They should have recalled them and fixed the problem.
They should have recalled them. That's why I mentioned it in the video. It's pretty disappointing. Regardless if my pliers do fail, they are covered by a 25-year warranty. I can't justify the price for everyone. I am happy with my purchase for my application
The fact that Leatherman IS NOT A NEW COMPANY and yet let that stuff get out to begin with before testing is pathetic. It's not hard, just test the tools first, torture test, and then once they're good, put into production. This isn't rocket science. They're getting lazy, even if trying to improve in other ways. They need to focus on putting out quality tools first, THEN implement the revolutionary technology afterward. 🙄
@@ThueyOutdoors Think I heard Leatherman is trying to fix the wirecutters, but they should've tested them before putting these into production anyway. It annoys me when companies are that complacent. It only embarrasses themselves, which is not good for business, so why they'd risk this is beyond my comprehension. 🤷♂️ Guess they know they've got a huge following, so people will stick with them no matter what. This is why competition is good, it makes these stupid companies stay on their toes and not take things for granted.
Wow,your the first I've seen taking the the Arc outside an doing Bushcraft tasks with it,I don't care about the cutter's,I'll replace those, but now I want the Arc even more now,I do love the majority of the the tools they gave it,it's like a lighter version of the surge but more one handed friendly with a upgraded blade steel.
My Arc just arrived in the mail a couple hours before I watched your vid (my youtube algo is basically all arc reviews at this point). I've been really having fun playing with the free tech with the pliers, and also spent the first 20 min testing the magnacut blade by slicing some cardboard i had lying around (went through like butter). The made in the USA stamp feels good. I actually went ahead and got it engraved with my name on the handle, and my motto ("Success Must Be Made") on the blade in cursive - if I'm spending that much money for a premium product that I'll hopefully be carrying everyday, I want it to be fully mine and feels very worth the extra $10 per engraving. I live in an apartment, and I work in tech - so I don't have a LOT of immediate projects, but I started noticing some ikea furniture that needed bolts tightened and I went ahead and tested the scissors out on my fingernails. I help volunteer with setting up events, festivals, and food banks which is where I mostly see this coming in handy, but frankly in my new apartment I don't feel the need to get my toolbox out of storage with this thing on me. But this thing is begging to be used, and it has me looking for projects (particularly watching this vid makes me want to try to awl out on some leather projects I've had in mind). I saw a custom bit you can buy for the arc that lets you put a magnetic ferro rod underneath the scissors or driver - and I really can't wait until my next camping trip so that I can try making a feather stick with this (hopefully going on a church retreat soon, and will definitely be raising my hand for fire duty haha) Great job on this vid! def one of the better reviews i watched, and i watched a lot of arc reviews the last two weeks.
Newbie here. Mine should be able to cut barbed wire more than once. Have a reasonable saw. The knife should be able to feather stick. A good pair of scissors would also be useful. Can and bottle opener. Don't necessarily need screwdrivers. Focused on bushcraft. I could use some advice, and thanks in advance! Greets, TW.
I lost my p4 and had bought a p2 as a replacement and it’s not smooth like the p4 the plier heads feel stiff my new arc feels great I took the wire cutters off the free and put them on the arc 😂
You meed to put out some more content bro an while using your Arc,i noticed thst you said that you were gonna show sn use your mora garberg, its s great knife as well for medium batoning an general camp an Bushcraft tasks thst ive seen over the years.
@@ThueyOutdoors ,ok Kool,I'll stay tuned an can't wait to see when you post,I just ordered my Arc this morning, can't wait to use it,I do plan on doing something to the cutter's when I get it,I got mine engraved with my name on it an a Kool design, but I'll definitely keep my surge close by too,it's been with me for years now on 3 or 4 camp trips
I have liked having a "tool box" in my pocket ever since the skelitool. How does the price compare to the Arc? Iv looked at a few of those heavy duty victorinox. Have you had one before?
The cutters problem occured earlyer on Surge but somehow nobody noticed to post on youtube. I have it on a black Surge with molle sheath, i understand its for US but i live in Europe. I bought 2 pairs of eod cutters and replaced on both my Surges, even at the good one. Eod cutters have no notch. The real problem of the Arc is that u cant sharpen the nice blade with the tool's file.
14:55 How? The pliers are junk. You can get something that does the same for an 8th of the price minus the blade. I’m f you really need a blade that much wouldn’t you just buy a decent knife?
I'm going to say this I've said it a dozen times about the ark you got to remember one thing about the ark it is not a Bushcraft tool it is made for a guy in the city that works in the office around the house it is a light duty tool it is not worth almost $300 price tag if you want a heavy duty tool to use Leatherman super tool 300 the wave the search which I carry far better better than the ark it is a light-duty tool designed for an office it is definitely not worth almost $300 price tag don't buy it is a piece of s*** if you're working man it's not for you if you're in office man or a city boy or a man bun kind of guy then it's absolutely for you if you're a working man stick to the super tool The Wave or the surge who are the rebar that's a good obe to
lol oops on the spelling and i have the arc and i'm not impressed by it i have a surge a super tool 300 and a rebar there far better then the arc especially for price
Heck yeah grandpa! I do see your point, the price is pretty steep. I had to use my student discount to get the Arc. I really like the free technology in the Arc and have loved the MagnaCut blade so far. Definitely pros and cons to the Arc!

Im going to get it as my "on me while not working " tool. My surge and wave are my working EDC.

I do also love the look of the tool itself, your right it does look good with the black an stainless steel.

I just asked them for new wire cutters and they sent them straight away it's not exactly the end of the world😂
I heard that they send the same style of cutters as the ones that break

I’ve had my leatherman signal for 3 years now, use it everyday. I’ll definitely check this one out cause you made it look cool at the very beginning
Hidden feature 😂
I’ve spent much more that $230 on just a folding pocket knife. The ARC is worth every penny.

Thanks for the comment! Glad the review was helpful! Enjoy your arc, I have loved mine so far!
Got mine today🤟🏼
7:10 I didn’t know you could loosen them up bro, mine are always stiff😂 imma go do this to mine right now
I love my Leatherman man only thing i carry less is more i was told

Not CMP.
It’s CPM, for Crucible Powder Metallurgy.
Gotta love dyslexia👍 good catch!
Mines back at Leatherman right now, praying they’ll fix all the issues. They had an all black wave+ at the store and I wish I got that instead.
I'm sorry to hear that, hope they fix everything for you🙏

The hardwire cutters might be your only concern with the Arc, the toolset works great for bushcraft
Leatherman Signal is best for bushcraft imo, even includes a ferro rod and little diamond knife sharpener
Thank you guys, appreciate it a lot 👍
My Free P4 pliers blocked after use strong. Sold 3 weeks after buying. Same problem in Arc...😢
That seems like a great knife! Thanks for the information!!
Thanks Viewer❤
Not needing to finger nail the tools is the biggest feature for me. I have a free p4.
I totally agree!
I lost my p4 and had bought a p2 as a replacement and it’s not smooth like the p4 the plier heads feel stiff my new arc feels great I took the wire cutters off the free and put them on the arc 😂

I'm planning on doing a full bushcraft/ survival episode just for the arc! Stay tuned!! Iv got a few cool camp knives I'm going to test and review!

Excellent tool. I love my Arc for many of the same reasons you listed in this video. It’s really top notch.
💯 Agree!
But it can’t cut a coat hanger?
Why would I want to cut a coat hanger?
If I want bits I'll get a tool box lol.wouldnt want DLC looks nice for awhile.
Ill keep the V. Spirit X
and i dont get it for 3 days.

in France we pay it 299€ (322 dollars US) lol
Jeez, that's expensive!
Australia is $469
For that price it should come with a tent and sleeping bag.
That would be a nice addition 😂
14:55 How? The pliers are junk. You can get something that does the same for an 8th of the price minus the blade. I’m f you really need a blade that much wouldn’t you just buy a decent knife?
If you are mainly getting this for the pliers, I would probably recommend the P2 or P4 with the free platform and good 90° hardwire cutters
Especially if you are planning on cutting thick wire!

The price would cause me never to take it out in fear of it being stolen and I'd treat it like a nice pair of shoes instead of a knife
Arc not worth every penny, because in this money you can buy Kershaw bel air by 145 usd with magnacut plus good gerber multitool.
True, but that's a lot of tools to carry
