- After putting a few hundred miles on my Icon Airflite Mips Stealth helmet I decided to do a detailed review. Overall it is a good helmet that is well worth the price, but it also has some flaws.

Do you ride with your glasses on as well? What size is your helmet? Great review!
Yes, I do ride with my glasses on, but I have to put them on after I put the helmet on and remove them before I remove the helmet. I have a fairly small head so according to the Icon size chart I needed a small, so that’s what I got.

At first it felt too tight after switching from a helmet that was too large, but after a short while I got used to it and it feels great.

Hah, I also have the Vulcan S and was thinking if this helmet would look out of place. It seems like an aggressive sports bike helmet, and not really a cruise helmet. But I guess it works on cruisers? What do you think?
It's a bit of a shame though that this MIPS is the only helmet that's a bit redone compared to the others, it's easier to clamp the intercom on this one. But it's glossy. I don't like glossy helmets.
I considered some loud green helmets, including one from Icon, but I ultimately decided on this one due to the MIPS technology. A few days ago I ran into a guy who had the same helmet and had it airbrushed and it looked great. At any rate, looks are a huge part of the decision factor for helmets, and motorcycles.
After around a dozen of watched views and even more user comments at this point I honestly think those who complain about the noisiness of this helmet are just over sensitive comfortists.

Thanks for watching and commenting. I would imagine that if you are comparing the Icon to a Shoei or something it could be considered noisy, but compared to the other helmets I have worn it is quiet. I guess it is all subjective, but you can't reasonably expect a $330 helmet to sound as quiet as riding in a luxury car. Best of luck, and ride safely.
@@themotorcyclegene Well said, sir! I do not have a well rounded knowledge on high tier motorcycle helmets so I cant really comment on the pricier helmet's comfort level while being well ventilated. Indeed, comparing a 330$ helmet to a 850$ one is kinda absurd. Thank you again, I will be sure to venture through your content!
I think another possibility is that they are running a larger size than normal due to the helmet being long oval shape, which would result in the helmet being louder than intended as it wouldn't be fitting correctly
I have this helmet (olive green) for 2 years. Haven't noticed wind whistle at all. Your review is good and honest, but in 1 thing I don't agree and that's the chin windshield. It's pretty bad in a way that doesn't stop wind at all and actually your chin 'freezes' during the lower temperature even in a lower speed. Overall, the helmet is cool with the great look and defenitly worth of that money.
It is entirely possible that it is my beard that's stopping the wind on my chin and I just assumed the chin guard works. At any rate, thanks for watching, and if you haven't already, consider subscribing.
A little late to the party but huge thanks for the review, you have in a way a unique perspective, the first review I've seen with someone wearing sight corrective glasses.. I've noticed with some of the helmets at competitive price points the visor tends to distort vision slightly (a distraction no rider needs). This helmet with a rider wearing glasses effectively having triple optical layers with the addition of the sun visor down. The only other concern I have/had is noise as my ears can not / will not tolerate in-ear ear plugs Your thoughts & experience re rider vision with glasses would be very much appreciated. After wearing the helmet for a while it did get a little noisier, but not horrible. My only real complaint today about it is the finish is bubbling up, possibly from the sun.

Thanks! Hopefully it helped. By the way, the helmet gets a lot more comfortable after wearing it for a few months, but there is also a little more noise as well, but not a substantial amount.

They are VERY noisy. However, easily remedied with earplugs.
It is a bit noisy, but still a lot quieter than the HD helmet I used to have.
Thanks for this quality content. I bought the helmet before watching this lol but this is a highly accurate video wind noise isn't an iissue, my helmet doesn't whistle that I've noticed atleast. Visor never fogs, and it really does let a lot of wind into your mouth hole

Hi mate! Very good job with this review. I just own an x-lite x-803 ultra carbon, in my opinion the best of the best...very light but noisy. I was looking to a every-day usable helmet and this one looks amazing. Do you think it would be a good choice? I ride a ktm 1290 superduke r 2020
Thanks for watching and taking the time to send a message. I wear the helmet every day, and in the most part I think it is a phenomenal helmet. I recently rode to Ft. Worth, TX for the Get On Motofest (video will be dropping soon), which is a little over six hours from me, and I decided that while it is a great helmet for daily use, it is not the best helmet for long distances on the interstate as at speeds over 75 the helmet becomes very noisy. In short, so long as you are not planning to wear the helmet while crushing major miles at high speeds (70+ MPH) than it would be a great helmet for you.
Will this fit Comms systems pretty well?
Supposedly, but I haven’t tried yet. Once I get a communication system I’ll make a video on it. Sorry I couldn’t give a more definite answer.
Chris, as promised, I am getting back with you now that I put a com in my helmet. I put a SENA 5S in it and it fits well. I will try to make a video on it soon, but I don't know when as I am currently working 50 to 60 hours per week.
How’s the sizing??
Mine fit pretty well and I bought mine based on the size chart on their website.
Did you order the recomended size? Did you need to size up or was it okay?

I've moved things around, and painted, but I may still look like a creepy wierdo. Im probably not a good judge of that.
