    Any idea if these still work on the 2024's? I have a 2024 Vulcan 650 S Cafe and would love to install this but I think I read these no longer work on the new models?

    • @themotorcyclegene

      I honestly have no idea whether or not this will work with a 2024 model. I put the Booster Plug on a 2016 model and it worked fine, but I have no way of knowing whether or not it will work on a 2024 model.

    how is the heat coming off of the engine on a warm day? does it have a reverse, I don’t expect it to, but I’ve had a couple bikes with reverse and it did come in handy a few times. My Honda Goldwing I think I used reverse twice. My BMW K 1200 LT, I don’t think I ever used reverse. I’ve been riding a long time and I know not to park my bike in a situation where I would have trouble backing it up. does it have self adjusting valve clearance? is the suspension adjustable? Does it have air suspension, are there damping adjustments? Does it have unusual size tires?

    • @themotorcyclegene
      @themotorcyclegene 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The heat coming off the exhaust is pretty hot and about sets my leg on fire during slow speed such as when stuck in traffic. It does not have a reverse. Yes, it has adjustable air ride suspension. I’m not sure if the tires are odd sized or not, but when I replaced them I didn’t have any trouble finding them.

      @@themotorcyclegene thanks for the quick response. There is one of these machines for sale locally here in August 2024. So I have been watching videos. I have had motorcycles that have tire sizes that do not give you much of a selection from the different manufacturers. One of my bikes I’ve had there were only two companies that made the odd sizes I needed in sets for both front and rear.. thanks for telling me about the heat off of the exhaust onto your leg. That kept me from buying several motorcycles over the years. The Honda, ST 1300 was an oven, as was the early FJR 1300, more recently, the Yamaha V twin Venture is a leg roaster. One owner in Texas said that he ended up going to the hospital with second-degree burns, and he didn’t even touch the exhaust with his leg. that pretty much rules out me considering the Indian roadmaster. I had a Goldwing, GL 1800 that you could not feel any heat, I’ve had 200 Pacific Coast, same deal, no heat from the engine or radiator onto me ataall.. I even had for moto guzzi”s.. I could feel some heat, but it was not an issue, even though my knees were practically touching the backs of the cylinder valve covers.., it apparently is the exhaust pipes that are the culprit, and I understand that there is a catalytic converter inside the pipes on the Indian, which makes it even hotter.. thank you very much for telling me straight out and not trying to sugarcoat it

    Funny thing I finally found my deal on EN450 Kawasaki, that I had always wanted, with awesome belt drive. I just drove 1,000 km back and forth to Great Falls Montana! Had been parked from 2010 to 2024. I drained the tank and carburetors of old gas, replaced with new, started easily. It also changed the coolant. It was parked with new oil which still looks good, so why change? Brakes work with no issues, fluid looks clean, plus it has plenty of compression anyway -- I don't find myself using the brakes all that much to be honest. Forks & seals good, cleaned up the chrome with NevRDull and put on some fork gaiters with a good wipe of grease inside. Previously (many years ago) I started with CB750, moved "up" to CBR600, Bandit 1200, and the pinnacle: YSR80. Same thing with my Kawasaki, had to correct lots of nicks and scratches due to it being somebody's "learner" bike. "Sticking valve," what?! What valve do you think was sticking? There is no such thing as a "sticking valve," which I think you imagine is in the cylinder head: those valves either "break" or they "work," and there's no in-between. What you -probably- possibly had was a weak ignition coil or ignition control module, or loose/frayed wire, or something like that. No big deal to diagnose & fix. (An issue that self-corrects when it warms up seems more like one carburetor had an issue with its idle circuit, and that might be fixed as easily as mixing some carb cleaner product into the gas tank.)

    Your videos are always helpful. Is there anyway that you could tell me which way the two fuel lines on the left side of the tank get connected? I think one is a fuel return and a vent maybe? My tank is marked with a blue dot but neither hose is marked. One of the hoses runs down through the bike and out by the kickstand, should it be connected to the port on the tank with the blue dot or the other port? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I was hoping I could see it in your video but you didn't go that far with the tank removal

    Take your Indian into a competent tech at an Indian dealer and have the windshield and throttle adjusted. I ride a 2016 Roadmaster and the windshield functions beautifully and has NO rattle at all which is something I hear complaints about as well. Am just tired of people making negative statements about Indian motorcycle for things that are petty and could be remedied if they would do something beside bitch... and take the bike to the shop for adjustments. I love my 2016 Indian Roadmaster. When I have this parked in public places people walking past complement this bike. I don't want a Harley at this time in life... am just treating this bike with love and respect.

    Good coverage of the installation, shame about the missing section but, the coverage was sufficient to complete the installation. The Suzuki instructors are pretty vague so my concerns were dismissed when I watched you removed one of the main engine bolts. Thank you appreciated.😅

    when you take off the expansion tank cover (3:23) by removing the two bolts, the inner bolt has a 'U' clip nut, and on my Vulcan, it fell off when the bolt was undone, so take care not to lose that. The other bolt came out fine, but it wouldn't go back in, because the plastic tank hole wasn't aligned with the captive nut. No matter how much I pushed the plastic tank, that hole just wouldn't realign properly to allow the bolt thread to start. A real pain as the other bolt holding the expansion tank in place is only accessible after dismantling and removing the outer metalwork. If it won't align when I release the tank, I'll probably enlarge the hole on a drill press. A bit tedious really and something which should be straightforward isn't. :(

    How about an oil filter wrench instead of driving a screwdriver through the filter to losen it? It works in a pinch, but if you're changing your oil regularly, I'd get a filter wrench. Other than that good job!
