Something I completely forgot while recording is that you can Tribute the Link for another Colossus, making any combo using it much more formidable! Combo 4 will end in double Colossus. Combo 5 will end in double Colossus + Titan. Combo 2 can also end on double Colossus by dumping Hawk, which is probably better than Titan w/pop.
Real quick, for even more protection on your Colossus with combo at 3:54 you should use thunder dragons effect twice (add one thunder dragon then activate that singles effect for another) brings card advantage down. But protects the win con which is more important.
Cimo, in combo #4 you wouldn’t be able to tribute your batteryman solar, until you activated a thunder dragon effect in hand. You’d have to use thunder dragons effect to grab another thunder dragon and then the option would be available to summon colossus. Don’t let your opponent misplay on you! I use a lot of decks! These are my favourites Tachyon Dragon Frightfur Abyss actor Gimmick Puppets Danger! Thunder Dragon The reason I say this is because as a Danger! Thunder dragon player, I found it VERY cool to have a great tutorial like this, I love the deck, seriously, and I can recommend if you want to play Danger! I'm not new by any means to this game but I hadn't played seriously in almost a since early in the zexal era and even then i wasn't nearly as knowledgeable as my friends. With link evolution out i can now play with the people who I'm now friends with and be much better with a good deck having know some simple combos now. I just finished building a thunder Dragon deck and this has helped a lot
Hello cimoo, You talked about 3 card combo's with ending with 2 colussus and 1 titan. But this is also possible with your fitfh combo. Instead of keeping the some summer summoner (which didnt add anything like you said) you can and should tribute it for your third colussus. That way your opponent cant use infinite permanance or widow anchor to negate the colossus and still search.
"Deck thinning" If you draw both thunder dragons, they become a dead card on your hand. If you discard/add one by one you can use it to fulfill colossus summoning requirements and use it to activate titan's effect to pop a card on the field for future turns. Leaving one thunder dragon in the deck isn't going to hurt you because statistically it is very unlikely to draw into it and if you did, thunder Dragonhawk is a thing.
I agree. And I guess it depends on the deck build, but once you have one in-hand, Thunder Dragon seems more useful in the GY than in-hand. Can the player use this effect to grab JUST one copy, and then use THAT copy to grab the third?
absolutely love this type of video. a lot of deck profiles don't do combos so i still have to search around to figure out how to play it. knowing the basic combos gives enough info to start playing and figure it out as you go along

Thunder dragons is ridiculous. I was playing Link Evolution, and I pulled off a bonkers combo (at least it was to me) that I just have to share. My starting hand was: Thunder Dragondark, Thunder Dragonmatrix, Thunder Dragon, Gold Sarcophagus, and Thunder Dragon Fusion. I drew Effect Veiler. My opponent starts and summons 2 monsters to the field in attack position. I don't remember the names, but one had 1800 attack and the other had 2000 attack. 1) I used Gold Sarc to banish a Thunder Dragon from my deck. 2) I use the effect of the Thunder Dragon in my hand to discard and add the 3rd Thunder Dragon from my deck to my hand. 3) I use the effect of Thunder Dragonhawk to discard it and special summon a Thunder Dragon from my GY to the field. I now have 1 Thunder Dragon on the field, 1 Thunder Dragon banished, and 1 Thunder Dragonhawk in my graveyard. 4) Since I used a thunder dragon monster effect in the hand by discarding, I then special summon Thunder Dragon Colossus by tributing the Thunder Dragon on the field. I now have a Thunder Dragon Colossus on the field. There is 1 Thunder Dragon in the graveyard, 1 Thunder Dragon banished, and 1 Thunder Dragonhawk in the graveyard. 5) I then use Thunder Dragon Fusion and shuffle the 2 Thunder Dragon and 1 Thunder Dragonhawk back into my deck to summon Thunder Dragon Titan. Keep in mind that I still have a Thunder Dragon in my hand, and it's effect is not once per turn 6) I discard Thunder Dragon to activate it's effect and get 1 (not 2) Thunder Dragon from my deck which activates the effect of Thunder Dragon Titan which I use to destroy one of my opponent's monsters. I then discard the Thunder Dragon again to activate it's effect and get the 3rd Thunder Dragon from my deck which activates the effect of Thunder Dragon Titan which I use to destroy my opponent's other monster. 7) I then attack for 5800 damage. Not an OTK, but my opponent had no cards on the field and only 2200 LP left. 8) Opponent sets a monster. I destroy it by discarding Thunder Dragonmatrix and attack with my juiced up Titan for 3700 LP and win the duel. Just in case anybody's wondering, the reason I didn't discard Dragondark or Dragonmatrix was because, unfortunately I couldn't OTK my opponent (or at least I didn't see a way to), and both Dragondark and Dragonmatrix have discard effects that are "Quick Effects" that I can use on my opponent's turn to active Titan's effect. Thunder Dragon's effect isn't a quick effect. It didn't happen to matter in this duel, but I kept them just in case. Just to recap: Thunder Dragon was banished by Gold Sarc. Discarded to activate it's effect. Special summoned to the field by Dragonhawk. Tributed to get Thunder Dragon Colossus. 2 were used in Thunder Dragon Fusion and shuffled back into the deck to special summon Thunder Dragon Titan. Then they were discarded 2 more times to activate the effect of Thunder Dragon Titan. If I would have had another Thunder Dragon Fusion instead of either Dragondark, Dragonmatrix or Effect Veiler, I could have discarded one of the thunder dragon monsters and used the other 2 Thunder Dragon in the graveyard again to get another Thunder Dragon Titan. Depending on how you count, Thunder Dragon got used 8 times in this combo, which is the main reason I posted this. OG Thunder Dragon got a hell of a workout this duel. 🤣 Anyway, if you read all the way through that, I just wanted to share since nobody else I know plays this game and I was having a ton of fun with this deck.
Another cool tech option is lullaby of obedience bc when combo’d with colossus you basically get a mandatory monster from opponents deck ignoring the summoning conditions
Mr Tobi1018 it’s only preventing adding to the opponents hand, lullaby adds to the person who uses the spell, not the person who is limited by the colossus. Cards aren’t added to your opponent’s hand by lullaby, they are added to yours, Colossus ONLY limits your opponent from adding cards to their hand from either deck except by drawing them.
Another good iteration to add to the deck that can act as a 2nd Solarbattery man is Phantom Sky Blaster. You can also have Denko in the side deck as he’s searchable with Aeon or the fusion spell.
People also tech in thunderclap skywolf. You open batteryman and dump skywolf, proceed with any TD plays you have, make the thunder link, and leave a spot open for skywolf next turn and it sets up a quick effect raigeki. This isn't really the most optimal play and some don't play skywolf at all but just mentioning this for those who haven't seen it yet.

I very recently learned about Thunder Dragons and was so excited because Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon was one of my favourite fusions back in the day. I looked these cards up but I had some trouble understanding how to play them because every card normally requires a tribute to summon. I still wish they had at least one lvl4 monster in the archetype but you at least have helped me so much in understanding how to play these guys :) Now if only there was a way to incorporate Twin-Headed into this...
The last combo you can also Tribute Some Summer Summoner to Special Summon a second Colossus. So you can extend that combo a little as well as giving yourself another Colossus to block the opponent more
Opponent summons Cyber Dragon >megafleet Personally, this is one of the reasons I prefer the dino variant. Easier to make a link monster so that superbolt isnt in the ED zone, plus they also have to worry about Ultimate Conductor Tyranno. Plus one monster on board is just begging to be kaiju'd, no matter how strong it is.
For those confused, yesterday lacked an upload due to TH-cam shenanigans yet again. The video was strangely made private after posting. Chilled was out for the night, as stated on Twitter, and was unable to reupload. Chilled was not at fault here. I know this is very late but why not use dragondark's effect to get a thunder fusion, that way you could use it right away and get a Titan in addition to the colossus, or (if you want to keep thunders in the GY to protect the fusions) just keep it for the next turn for some recovery
Now for the fourth combo you could have ended in the same board as the fifth. When u went into some summer sommoner instead of adding thunder dragon you could add thunder dragon fusion. That would allow you to go into titan without a pitch. Then u could tribute summoner for another colossus. Also teching in cards like reasoning in this deck works well to dump cards and get a free summon. Further more teching in necroface works well since if you banish it both players banish 5 cards from their decks and unless its a mirror you can plus off of it if no other effects. went off. Plus since most devks this format don't do well with banished cards it hurts your opponent
Personally I feel people are overlooking the invoked engine. Just by adding in Aleister, Invocation and Magical Meltdown, the deck can do so much more. I can't remember the exact cards I had but once I had a Mechaba and a Superbolt in play at the same time on turn 1. Personally, I think Invoked Thunder Dragons will be the better deck, but I guess we will have to see.
Bateryman its your normal summon and playing him gives way more advantage than aleister so; batteryman + aleister in hand = aleister death in hand. it might top some regionals(isnt a horrible idea) but talking about big tournaments, pure thunder dragons works way better
Gold Sarc got hit on OCG and thundra got hit so hard rip. But the new card in savage strike has a monster that banishes stuff from your deck when normal summoned. That monster will be the Armageddon knight for thundra
You have to combine T dragons with invoked. Just to good. You can end up with 2 negates and superbol. Also invoked fusion spell can fusion summon the boss monster. It also helps to banish the monsters to get their effect
Here's another combo with batteryman solar and dragonhawk: Summon Solar, send Dragonroar, discard Dragonhawk to ress Dragonroar, summon token, use Dragonroar to summon Colossus, float up a Dragondark, use all cards on the field to summon Saryuja Skulldeat, then chain Dragondark and Skulldeat's effect to effectively +2 (Use dragondark to get TD Fusion), summon a random thunder type monster from your hand using Saryuja, summon Colossus, use Fusion to summon Titan, AND, if you have Dragonduo, summon it.
I've been playing with thunder dragons for some time now and the biggest flaw I've seen is consistency they either have amazing boards or no board and there's no inbetween and if even 1 combo piece gets negated it all over
I say always use sum summon to get another colossal on the board that way, if you opponent has a widow anchor or a infinite impermanence, you still have one active colossal
You forgot the best 2 card combo: You need batteryman solar and monster reborn or Avian thunder dragon. Normal solar, send beast, avian or reborn the beast, get a token, link away the token and beast for Kaminari, beast effect, summon bolt, link away bolt kaminari and solar for borrelsword or borreload (or whatever link 4). Bolt effect searches fusion. Activate fusion, return solar, kaminari and avian if you had it, if not, return beast and summon Thunderlord. You end up with a live Thunderlord who can banish twice for protection, and if he banishes bolt, you get a search for egg, who can activate effect and trigger thunderlord destruction effect
The best combo for Thunder Dragons: get a job, get paid, and use entire first paycheck for this deck. Probably gonna be as expensuce as Nekroz was originally
if you have the big fusion on field, the og thunder dragons are a constant pop opponents field especially if they're shuffled back in constantly leaving one in hand

Konami unbanned different Dimension burrial for the Thunder Dragons, with 3 of it you can get 9 Thunder Monsters back to the GY to protect them more often
There was a time were you can pull off a 2 Superbolt (Colossus) and 2 Lord (Titan) and a Darkness Metal Link with 1 Origin in hand from a "Glow-up Bulb-Origin-OG Thunder Dragon" hand...
You didn’t discard before summoning supervolt in combo 4, and if you change combo 5 around a bit, you can end on sorc instead of summer vacation, and I’m pretty sure a second supervolt. I know for a fact that the lord 2 supervolt combo can be made with 3 cards( solar, avian, and instant fusion) but I think with some cheekiness and skill, it’s possible with just solar and avian.
I don't think you should be using the og thunder dragon to deck thin. I think the best use for him is that he provides 2 pops for titan all by himself giving you strong board clearing
I have a pretty crazy combo you can do, but it requires 3 cards and the dark warrior engine. You can end your board with Knightmare Unicorn, Gryphon, and linked colossus and titan. you need to draw a way to special two warriors and have a thunder dragon hawk in hand. From there you just uhh... Abuse the link summoning mechanic

Normal summon Solar and use the effect to send to graveyard Roar. 2. Use the eff Hawk to summon from the graveyard Roar. 3. When Roar is summoned from graveyard then activate the eff Solar to summon a token. 4. Summon link Some Summer using the token and Roar and activate eff Roar to special summon from the deck the thunder dragondark. 5. Special summon Colossus 1 using dark and activate the eff dark to bring to hand the fusion thunder dragon. 6. Special summon in the other space for link monster the link Sorceress using Solar and Some Summer. 7. Activate fusion thunder dragon to summon titan in one place in the field that is under the target by Sorceress and special summon titan. 8. Activate eff Sorceress and target titan and use its eff to summon from the deck matrix. 9. Summon colossus 2 using matrix and eff matrix to add other from our deck to the hand.

Been playing with this deck on Legacy of the Duelist and it is absurd what you can do on your first turn and my deck isn't even that optimal, I'm still missing Batteryman Solar and I can still get Thunder Dragon Titan out on my first turn.
Instead of thunder dragon, add thunder dragon fusion and fuse into the titan in the next zone and then tribute the kaminari and summon a second colossus at the top, ending with 2 colossus and 1 titan

Why, every time a person uses og Thunder Dragon, they add both of the copies to the hand, it's so much better to add them one at a time instead!

I very recently learned about Thunder Dragons and was so excited because Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon was one of my favourite fusions back in the day. I looked these cards up but I had some trouble understanding how to play them because every card normally requires a tribute to summon. I still wish they had at least one lvl4 monster in the archetype but you at least have helped me so much in understanding how to play these guys :)
Now if only there was a way to incorporate Twin-Headed into this...

The last combo you can also Tribute Some Summer Summoner to Special Summon a second Colossus. So you can extend that combo a little as well as giving yourself another Colossus to block the opponent more

Personally, this is one of the reasons I prefer the dino variant. Easier to make a link monster so that superbolt isnt in the ED zone, plus they also have to worry about Ultimate Conductor Tyranno.
Plus one monster on board is just begging to be kaiju'd, no matter how strong it is.

I know this is very late but why not use dragondark's effect to get a thunder fusion, that way you could use it right away and get a Titan in addition to the colossus, or (if you want to keep thunders in the GY to protect the fusions) just keep it for the next turn for some recovery

Now for the fourth combo you could have ended in the same board as the fifth. When u went into some summer sommoner instead of adding thunder dragon you could add thunder dragon fusion. That would allow you to go into titan without a pitch. Then u could tribute summoner for another colossus. Also teching in cards like reasoning in this deck works well to dump cards and get a free summon. Further more teching in necroface works well since if you banish it both players banish 5 cards from their decks and unless its a mirror you can plus off of it if no other effects. went off. Plus since most devks this format don't do well with banished cards it hurts your opponent
I have been waiting 3 months for these cards.
Personally I feel people are overlooking the invoked engine. Just by adding in Aleister, Invocation and Magical Meltdown, the deck can do so much more. I can't remember the exact cards I had but once I had a Mechaba and a Superbolt in play at the same time on turn 1. Personally, I think Invoked Thunder Dragons will be the better deck, but I guess we will have to see.
Bateryman its your normal summon and playing him gives way more advantage than aleister so; batteryman + aleister in hand = aleister death in hand. it might top some regionals(isnt a horrible idea) but talking about big tournaments, pure thunder dragons works way better
@@crummymonky The problem here is pure Thunder Dragon mirror matches. It's a mess. I'll be much impress to see Thunder Dragon Dinos to top.

Gold Sarc got hit on OCG and thundra got hit so hard rip. But the new card in savage strike has a monster that banishes stuff from your deck when normal summoned. That monster will be the Armageddon knight for thundra
You have to combine T dragons with invoked. Just to good. You can end up with 2 negates and superbol. Also invoked fusion spell can fusion summon the boss monster. It also helps to banish the monsters to get their effect
Dascher it’s surprisingly less consistent and has a lower ceiling than the Dino variant tho...

Here's another combo with batteryman solar and dragonhawk:
Summon Solar, send Dragonroar, discard Dragonhawk to ress Dragonroar, summon token, use Dragonroar to summon Colossus, float up a Dragondark, use all cards on the field to summon Saryuja Skulldeat, then chain Dragondark and Skulldeat's effect to effectively +2 (Use dragondark to get TD Fusion), summon a random thunder type monster from your hand using Saryuja, summon Colossus, use Fusion to summon Titan, AND, if you have Dragonduo, summon it.
I just got thunder dragon Colossus and now I'm going to get the rest

I've been playing with thunder dragons for some time now and the biggest flaw I've seen is consistency they either have amazing boards or no board and there's no inbetween and if even 1 combo

Either Gold Sarc is getting Limited or Batteryman Solar is getting hit. Both cards are great staples for the deck.
Unless altergist are hit they will be tier 2 so no need for ban
I say always use sum summon to get another colossal on the board that way, if you opponent has a widow anchor or a infinite impermanence, you still have one active colossal

You forgot the best 2 card combo: You need batteryman solar and monster reborn or Avian thunder dragon. Normal solar, send beast, avian or reborn the beast, get a token, link away the token and beast for Kaminari, beast effect, summon bolt, link away bolt kaminari and solar for borrelsword or borreload (or whatever link 4). Bolt effect searches fusion. Activate fusion, return solar, kaminari and avian if you had it, if not, return beast and summon Thunderlord. You end up with a live Thunderlord who can banish twice for protection, and if he banishes bolt, you get a search for egg, who can activate effect and trigger thunderlord destruction effect

The best combo for Thunder Dragons: get a job, get paid, and use entire first paycheck for this deck. Probably gonna be as expensuce as Nekroz was originally

if you have the big fusion on field, the og thunder dragons are a constant pop opponents field especially if they're shuffled back in constantly leaving one in hand

@@zachcondel7116 yeah. Its what I would do. Discard. Add one. Pop, rinse repeat as much as possible. Keep one in hand, shuffle two back into deck. Rinse repeat

Konami unbanned different Dimension burrial for the Thunder Dragons, with 3 of it you can get 9 Thunder Monsters back to the GY to protect them more often
There was a time were you can pull off a 2 Superbolt (Colossus) and 2 Lord (Titan) and a Darkness Metal Link with 1 Origin in hand from a "Glow-up Bulb-Origin-OG Thunder Dragon" hand...

You didn’t discard before summoning supervolt in combo 4, and if you change combo 5 around a bit, you can end on sorc instead of summer vacation, and I’m pretty sure a second supervolt. I know for a fact that the lord 2 supervolt combo can be made with 3 cards( solar, avian, and instant fusion) but I think with some cheekiness and skill, it’s possible with just solar and avian.
Combo 5 you can actually end with both fusions, and gumbalr 2 cards out your opponents hand

Good video BUT in 5:48 you have a mistake, u bring to the field colossus and never discarded a thunder dragon monster before to summon it.
I don't think you should be using the og thunder dragon to deck thin. I think the best use for him is that he provides 2 pops for titan all by himself giving you strong board clearing
I have a pretty crazy combo you can do, but it requires 3 cards and the dark warrior engine. You can end your board with Knightmare Unicorn, Gryphon, and linked colossus and titan. you need to draw a way to special two warriors and have a thunder dragon hawk in hand. From there you just uhh... Abuse the link summoning mechanic

The biggest issue thunder dragons have is kaijus, thats unless they have effects that state they cannot be tributed

Combo with 2 Colossus, 1 Titan and Sorceress.
Cards extradeck: 2 Colossus, 1 Titan, Some Summer and Sorceress.
Cars in the hand to start the combo: Solar and Hawk.
Combo:
1. Normal summon Solar and use the effect to send to graveyard Roar.
2. Use the eff Hawk to summon from the graveyard Roar.
3. When Roar is summoned from graveyard then activate the eff Solar to summon a token.
4. Summon link Some Summer using the token and Roar and activate eff Roar to special summon from the deck the thunder dragondark.
5. Special summon Colossus 1 using dark and activate the eff dark to bring to hand the fusion thunder dragon.
6. Special summon in the other space for link monster the link Sorceress using Solar and Some Summer.
7. Activate fusion thunder dragon to summon titan in one place in the field that is under the target by Sorceress and special summon titan.
8. Activate eff Sorceress and target titan and use its eff to summon from the deck matrix.
9. Summon colossus 2 using matrix and eff matrix to add other from our deck to the hand.
Thunder coloss dragon is a good support in other decks too

Been playing with this deck on Legacy of the Duelist and it is absurd what you can do on your first turn and my deck isn't even that optimal, I'm still missing Batteryman Solar and I can still get Thunder Dragon Titan out on my first turn.
Instead of thunder dragon, add thunder dragon fusion and fuse into the titan in the next zone and then tribute the kaminari and summon a second colossus at the top, ending with 2 colossus and 1 titan
