I bought my dad a Benchmade auto in 1994. As far as I know he's carried it every day since then and it is still very snappy to this day.

Out of the knives I do have, that Hogue Microswitch has been riding my pocket the most. It's the 2.6" drop-point blade with gray handles and stonewash finish. The spring tension on mine is stiff enough to hit hard on deployment, but soft enough that I can close it with one hand.
I have a Launch 1 and I love it. Some of the smaller of the Launch series aren’t really my thing, but that Launch 13 looks sweet. I like that Gerber too 👌
When it comes to a small auto i love my launch 10! That hawk bill blade works great.
For many of us knife guys, WEIGHT IS IMPORTANT. In the beginning of my knife craze it didn't matter, but as years went by I realized that I tend not to carry heavy clunky knives and they eventually fell out of rotation. I have a bunch of ZTs that are in a knife storage bag in the bottom of my closet. After blade length and steel, the next important knife stat for me is weight.
My two favs....Microtech Stitch in M390 and Pro-Tech TR3 Operator. Great vid!
I have a Piranha Fingerling that I picked up at the Blade HQ storefront while in Salt Lake for Locomotive Engineer school. I love it!
The Piranha is by far the quickest opening blade I own.

I did some knife sharpening for a sporting goods store I worked at and one guy brought in a Benchmade Anthem he had been using to cut open bags of concrete.
I carry an Anthem daily and i work for a Outdoors store. Amazing knife!
Was hoping the Buck 110 auto would have made the cut. It's a great auto rendition of a classic.
I had my Kershaw Launch 1 fire in my pocket a couple of times when I first got it. It was because my keys moved up and got between the button and my leg. I just make sure to be aware of where everything is now and I haven't had any problems since. I have a couple of Boker Kalashnikovs and the Launch 1. I rarely carry a non-auto knife now.

Hello. Love these videos. Y'all do a great job. My question is, recently Hogue came out with a knife, Sig Sauer by Hogue K320A, which y'all have with an Able lock. I have seen an Auto and I was wondering if y'all will be carrying the autos?

I love Zac and totally need to meet him. I feel we both have a lot in common, we are both knife guys and both know a lot of random facts and I think we would get along quite nicely. I'm definitely going to have to stop by Blade HQ in Utah some day.
My favorite auto in my collection: Microtech Signature Series Hellhound Troodon in Carbon Fiber. Yeah, it’s an OTF. But it’s still an auto and it’s a damn sexy one!!
I'm obsessed with microtech's otf's I have an ultratech blue handled and a orange combat Troodon that I EDC with a Tanto blade it's f****** gorgeous I absolutely love Microtech knives.
I have the hellhound Ultratech. It’s a brilliant knife! I only wish it were a bit bigger.

My dad had his boker strike go off in his pocket today but that was the only time its happened and it was user error and its probably his favorite knife besides the pocket clip falling off which neither one of us know where it is or know how it came off lol

Gerber 06...ugh. The damn thing has a hard time opening. But the Empower is a great choice (for a Gerber)
Booker Strike is a fabulous auto. For the price point and build. I find the strike in my pocket often.
I have a launch 9. It's a great blade.
Surprised that the Boker mini Kalashnikov is not one as my EDC auto, it is always my go to. What would make these better is higher quality metals than AUS8 or D2 as my personal preference for edge retention is the N690Co. Just my opinion and was curious after watching this.

Has any ever removed the spring from an auto? I like the push button mechanism but can’t carry an auto. Kind of like the protect Malibu. I’m wondering if it will work?
Honestly, a well-built flipper is worth the money. I am not sure if there is a pushbutton flipper.
An auto with the spring removed would probably not open as easy as a flipper making it a two-handed open (unless you are ok with an extreme amount of blade play)
Hogue makes some nice button lock flippers

Do some grail videos, budget knives are nice, but you guys must show them that there is another echelon. Benchmade's and Spyderco's are like standing on the edge of the diving board, show them what the true deep end looks like.

I had heard bad things about Piranha knives heat treat does anybody actually own one that can attest to this? The outdoor shop near me says they always had them returned and stopped carrying them

So I got the 9400. I'm not a big auto guy so I don't have alot of experience with them. But it has som front to back wiggle. Is the normal for an auto? I have the pivot screw right where it still has snap cant be tightened anymore. Anyone have any input on this?
It’s normal; a plunge lock pushes a cyclinder downwards. I had this issue with a protech so i think it’s normal.

Ive never understood why you guys always hyped up the launch 4 lol, over the launch 9 i mean. The 9 was my first auto ive ever bought and absolutely love it. Just feel like it never got the attention it deserves and for whatever reason the 4 did.

Love your guys videos. You've managed to influence me to spend over 1,400 on your website. You mentioned the freebies with the benchmade knife purchases this recent black friday, so I purchased a bailout. You should mention that people need to add those free products to their cart because when I called to let someone know I didn't receive them, they said I was SOL. Petty reasoning, but I feel fleeced, and ill be supporting another business in the future.
