Killer line up of knives. I love your lists you make. Thanks Jared
Great list, great knives! Thanks for your work!
I love my Rex 45 Manix. Very robust and precise.
Would you say it's chippy at all? I find myself being more gentle with my s90v than my s35vn.
i believe rex 45 is just a smidge less tough than m4, and it’s high hardness so i don’t think it’s a very chippy steel. it’s tougher than s90v i know, i believe rex45 is about the same toughness as s30v while being quite a bit harder
I recently picked up the ritter rsk auto in purple from knifeworks. Im absolutely loving the amazing quality of it!!
Another banging list. Thanks
I thought PM2 blade was ugly until I got one, thought the Deka's wharnie was a little funky until I got it... I love it when I'm surprised by a knife.
Absolutely hated the appearance of Spyderco knives and was gifted a PM2, laughed at it in disgust and today it's my favorite by far.
Im glad that you gave a mention to the Hogue/Sig Sauer K320 - a knive that doesnt get much recognition, but is absolutely amazing. Ive had mine in pocket and used daily as landscaper for 12 months - never had to sharpen it, just strop, and still a razor! - amazing list, I see another purchase in my future, either PM2 or Deka! 👍👍
Great compilation, Neeves! I also like the Hogue Exemplar, and off-topic: Have you tested/reviewed the Civivi Stormhowl, with aluminum scales and Nitro-V steel? Thanks!
Killer list man! I know this is the wrong post but what are the Alexandria fragrances you usually recommend?
Excellent list, thanks dude. 😎
G!ad to see a video featuring USA made products! This one gets a thumbs up from me 👍😎🇺🇸
I first got the Kershaw launch 7 and it's such a cool knife but I thought it was a bit large for an EDC so returned it and went with the launch 18. Perfect.
The launch knives I tried have a very strong spring so if you go with a big one just remember to keep a good hold when you open it.
Amazing video, as always, a true service to the community. If you haven't already, please do a video explaining CONVEX edges specifically and the pros/cons. I've also been hearing about micro-beveled convex edges, so that could be an interesting topic as well. I love your videos, and you're an incredibly valuable member of the the community, definitely looking forward to all your future content🤙🏻
Love all your videos dude👍🏻. Question: Where is the best place to look for a large, readily available supply of aftermarket scales? Looking specifically for Hogue Deka, American Lawman and Para 3. ✌🏻
Totally love it broham!!!
I am a huge fan of the Manix2 LW in Rex45. Thinking about getting me a second with plans of modding them with different scales once available for purchase.
I am a little bit concerned that the Houge RSK and RSK Mini were not on the list along with the Griptilian. I love my RSK Mini in MagnaCut besides the fact it totally eats pockets with the super strong clip upon super aggressive G10 scales.
Great flipping review, as usual Jared!!
Perfection, thank you
I love both of my spyderco knives and definitely intend to buy more, largely due to the heat treat.
Thanks for the reviews..how would you say the American Blade would compare to the Quiet Carry Drift? Be well!
Chris Reeves Umnumzaan. Strider SNG or SMF. Hinderer XM-18. I don't understand how these don't make your list. Best of the best. Granted they are expensive, but they are top notch.
Glad you mentioned the Spartan Harsey.
Just ordered the rex 45 manix.. never ordered a knife so quickly. Bless your heart.
your gonna love it
@@NeevesKnives considering I already have a custom g10 version with s30v I know I’m going to love it. First knife that I will have 2 versions of in my collection. My personal favorite at this moment in time.
I second that idea !
Yes….. USA. Please consider starting a weekly USA only video
USA makes pure garbage most of the time us army combat engineer here
Theres not enough of actual made in the usa, compared to assembled in the usa
Or knives that come close to outside the US knives for materials and price…
USA 🇺🇸
Wow. Two Tactile Mavericks (hrc 63-64, 64-65!), a Griptilian gift for a friend, the Shaman in 15V, American Blade Works Model 2, two Paramilitary 2s coming (MagnaCut, Maxamet), went with two Stretch 2s in K390, Manix 2 in S110V, and... the Spyderco Native Chief in Rex 45. Life is good.
I've had my first Kershaw for almost 10yrs now that I bought from Dicks Sporting goods, it has been the best 40$ I had spent as an EDC. Only up till about a year ago when I started digging into the knife collecting world has the Kershaw been put onto my magnet display shelf. My wife just got me the Yojumbo BladeHQ Jade edition for V-Day. I absolutely love it! Great list!
Love my Manix 2! It’s just the regular S30V with G10 scales.
Hey Jerad, how do you fix lock rock on crossbar? My Drop Bear is moving slightly and I wonder if this will go away in time or no chance for it? It’s only moving up-down.
Thanks Jerad
I may get the Kershaw Launch with the bayonet blade.
Love your info but being a bigger guy, I would love a video on recommended knives that are at least 3.75 inch blades. 3.75 to 4 inches is what I prefer and would love info on recommendations in this size. Keep em coming.
Thanks for the review(s)! I did use your link to GP Knives (not Knife Center, lol!) to order the Stormtrooper version of the Manix 2 Lightweight with Rex 45. I am eagerly waiting the arrival.
You are gonna love it!
@@NeevesKnives Ok, I received it today from GP Knives. When I disengage the lock the blade closed but then it bounces out a couple of inches. Does this require some adjustment of the Ball Bearing Lock?
Use the latch to disengage the blade but let it go b4 the blade drops. It should keep the blade from bouncing back out. Keep playing with it you will be a pro. I have had a manix 2 in my pocket for almost 10ys and I still love mine. My latch spring was really stiff at 1st. A ceramic ball makes it soooo smooth if you ever want an upgrade.
Nice top pick 👍 cool content 😎
That Tactile Archer looks like absolute fire. *Very* bold pice point though.
I know it's a knife video but wow I love that all access pass
also you definitely got me to order a bel air lol
There were a couple times in this video i wanted to jump into the comments to mention the manix, for the steel options, locking system and price it comes at, only to watch to the end. Worth the wait lol
The only knives I would have put on this list that aren't here are the Native 5 and the Kershaw Livewire. Big agree on the Manix 2 LW, it's very tough for me to decide between that and the Native 5 as Spyderco's greatest knife ever.
This warms my heart. Made in USA
Correction.....
Assembled in America 👌
Dude that two tone blade red handle socom elite is sweeet
Are there replacement scales for the Manix or any other lightweight Spyderco?
Manix 2 is my favorite spyderco knife but it has close competition in para 2/3, shaman and vallotton.
Bel air will definitely be my next purchase. Thanks for your thoughts on these USA knives. I find it hard to pay the more premium prices as I have to go into attics and rough places at work where I have lost knives before. Kershaw seems to be knocking it out of the park lately. At least in my budget range. I currently have been carrying the launch18. Love it so far.
Not us made but civivi is killing the $50 knife market
@@mrj3711 Yeah I agree and have over 10 of them lol. However none hold an edge very long for my uses unfortunately.
Thanks,
The kershaw leek was the very first knife I feel in love with when I first started this journey
Mine was a Sitivien because coming from a Kershaw. I found that unassisted knives were so much better.
I got my first 2 sets of OG goat and love them on my hogues
Iv been watching alot of knife videos lately tryin to upgrade after 10 years of the same 940 .... all across the knife community everything is " slicyy " super sliccy slicy slicy slicy 😂😂😂 its hilarious
What they are describing is thinness in behind the edge thickness (BTE).
What are your edc needs? Maybe the community here can steer you in some directions.
It's pathetic, in my opinion.
Is the Rex 45 easy to sharpen? Thanks
I’ve had the leek for a while and with its sleek design and thin blade stock at 3 inches with a hollow grind and good steel the question is…. What knife is equivalent? What knife is comparably better? Been trying to figure that out for a time now and it’s American made
The Kershaw Bel-Air, man. I don't know how KAI pulled this one off as good as they did, but man... I just LOVE this knife! It's such a slicer and in MagnaCut!
Can't go wrong with Spyderco and Hogue for sure! What's your opinion on CRK? I'd like to think that they're just as good as the ones mentioned?
No Love for TRM huh? Come on Jerad they definitely deserve to be on this list. Besides that awesome list bro! Can’t wait to get the Bel Air in from your site! 🔥🔪👍👊😎
Hello my friend… Been watching your videos for a while! In your opinion, best budget knife $75 or less
I got a like new Rockwall for $170, so it's pretty great for that price. The Bel-Air seems like maybe the new gold standard though
Do you not recommend the ursa series venev? They aren't in your storefront.
Replace the Omega springs on the tactile and it's a fire ass knife
Kershaw Leek is so damn good
Got a link for those shaman scales?
Another fantastic USA made knife Three Rivers Manufacturing Atom & Neutron.
Can you show how you deassisted your leek and any adjustments you made?
I'm thinking of getting cjrb chord or the riff. Also like some civiivi knives too. What do you recomend.?
Do you use the Spyderco sharpening system? Have you ever re-profiled another blade to the Spyderco system?
I'm surprised the Benchmade Osborne 940 was not mentioned.... Great/Thoughtful Review, start to finish
I just received my Manix LW Rex45 DLC about a week ago. I love it! Thanks for the vid!
Do u sharpen knives for the public? Like can I send u my knife and pay u to sharpen it and maybe even do a review? I haven’t seen you do a review on the exact knife that I want sharpened it is from Templar knives it’s the Excalibur line OTF VG10 Damascus.
Merica!
What Taiwan brands are good
The Spyderco Sage 5 is made in Taiwan and is an awesome knife.
Got my Manix 2 LW in Rex 45 two days ago. Lock is incredibly stiff right now.
You can pull the lock all the way down and find something that fits in there tightly (I use a long torx bit) leave it for a couple days should loosen up. OCD4EDC sells a new spring kit and there are also aftermarket Titanium & Aluminum Cage locks for easier pulling as well
I bought it twice and worked the crap of them until it was at the end of return time. Neither came around to being acceptable so both got returned. Biggest disappointment in a knife last year for me.
Takes a bit to break in, man up…..good lord lol
Awesome video. How the hell is a Buck 110 not on that list.
I am not a product reviewer or product tester but I have several knives and yes, there is just something (that I cant describe) about my Buck 110. Besides the fact that I have had it for about 40 years. Maybe that is it, its the only thing in my life that has not died, disappointed me or been unfaithful.
That one Kershaw just hit the market😂😂 has 4 washers and two bearing, no captive hardware, and a questionable heat treat and its ahead of the deka.. am I crazy?
Hello Sir! Not trying to be a dick here, but it's his list. I was thinking similar thoughts, but we can always make our own lists. I'm sure he expects people to disagree. Kershaw just getting a lot of coverage lately. But I'd buy it. Maybe they suck though? It's like a Kershaw come back? I used to carry Kershaw before I knew much about knives. I'm kinda rooting for them. Sorry for piping in. Peace
No CRK on here? Is that cause their price tag?
where can I get reliable Omega springs ? anyone help plz
You may have luck finding them online.
Great video. Have them all except the yojimbo and the Bel Air. Was going to pick up a Bel Air, but then I saw a video on how weak the blade steel is. The reviewer was able to bend the blade by stabbing a tree 25 times. The thinness of the softer Magnacut didn't work.
So don’t stab a tree 25 times with your 3” EDC knife and you should be good right?
More USA made videos please
Can anyone tell me why Spyderco only use the ball lock on the Manix series?
I been saying the same thing, it's my favorite locking mechanism. There was one other obscure model called the poliwog or some such nonsense that used the b.b. lock but that's it as far as I know
I'm European but the "spider" has bitten me, I even have a pair of Benchmade Griptilians, 550 and 555, just because their opening holes ha ha ha.
Spyderco Paramilitary2 with CRU-WEAR Satin Blade & Brown Micarta is now $217.50!
Kershaw Bel Air with MagnaCut Blackwashed Blade & Aluminum is $150.
Why did you take the spring out of your leak?
I didn't it broke, but I don't like assisted knives anyway for the most part, I mean there's a few I really like that I think are done very well but I usually stay away
I just picked up a TOPS Lions Tooth Pick.
My new self defense daily carry.
Why does the Leek always make a list but never the Dividend?
I agree with all of those, I was hoping the Stormtrooper would be #1 on the list and it was ! Spyderco has the best heat treat in the business and has a very affordable price on their super steels with frn scales.😊😊😊
I just ordered a made-in-USA Buck 847 Vantage Force Knife - S30V Stainless Steel, Green Dymalux, $63.74 on their website. None of these you show can compare in value.
This is the way…
I messed up my spy 27 manix I sharpened it wrong and it's tip is pointing out in the clip position. 😊
That prybar is awesome!!!
Why do the chamfer the wrong side of the nail puller? Makes it pointless.
UNpopular Opinion; American knife makers think They Should charge 5-7 times the Price of the, Labor, Materials, and Overhead. It's almost like 'Price' Isn't even a Thought. Price IS The Competitive 'Edge'.
American's know American's are patriotic to a fault and will pay extra for a 'stars and stripes' flag on their products and property.
I've been stuck on buying USA made only for my knives. Idk why but just something about the craft behind it. Idk how much of a choice someone has to go work at a factory in China. Like did the people working their dream of making knives when they were a child? I don't think everyone in the USA factories have that dream but I like to believe there are more than in China.
Jeeves, i cannot support someone like TKC who makes a cross bar lock but does nor make LH compatible. People like that should not make axis locks…
I really hope they make the Bel Air in other colors.
I wonder why no one talks about the smooth criminal. Is it a political thing. I have had two. To me almost a perfect strong EDC fidgety tool. But what do I know.
Just a note, the lockbar on the Socom is steel, at least as of 2023, with a hardened steel insert.
Mines titanium but mines a bit older
@@NeevesKnives I was sure mine was too, till I took a magnet to it. It's incredible how overbuilt these things are, MSI and Socom easily became my favorite knives among CRKs and Hinderers.
Being a lefty. It’s irritating when companies have an ambidextrous lock, but non reversible clips.
My msi and stitch have not failed pine wack
I like usa or europe knives , i prefer those to china made in..
Manix2 in CPM 15V ain't too shabby either.😊
I didnt see any Alien knives on your list lol
“Titanium WHOOR” aren’t we all, Jerad. 😂
Would love to see a spine whack test not just a spine tap.
The belair looks very similar to my vosteed raccoon I'm surprised there hasn't ben a lawsuit yet lol 😉🤫🤐🤔
I struggle to understand how the untextured aluminum scales on the BelAir are a selling point. I'd rather have well-textured FRN (Spyderco or Griptillian style, not flimsy Bugout style). Kershaw's obsession with these types of scales (and crappy assisted opening) boggles my mind. At least they ditched the assisted opening.
Well being metal, corrosion proof, light and super tough is probably the reason, frn is molded, aluminum is machined.
@@NeevesKnives@NeevesKnives The bar seems a little low if just throwing metal scales onto something is a plus. I've seen some good after-market textured aluminum, but most stock aluminum, particularly Kershaw, has been disappointing to grip compared to any Spyderco FRN and certainly compared to G10 or Micarta.
@@andrewcardillo4376 well this aluminum is not quite like the other stuff , the other was or is powdery this is like an orange peel kinda
@@NeevesKnives Interesting! Better than scales on a Kershaw Link? I always found those a bit slick.
Regarding the stitch and mCS if you had to penetrate a human and hit bone you don’t want the blade closing. Microtech should have some better testing.
Spyderco ergonomics have never worked well for me.
Weird deal. My #1 would be the PM2 and the Manix wouldn't be on the list. It's the only Spyderco that I've bought and returned twice because the action was so bad.
I am not a Manix guy either.
Personally a military 2 guy, I find the pm2 a bit small for my hands. Love the manix for a smaller blade tho. Action on the (para) military lineup is way better tho
@davidf3974 you wish 😂😂😂 too small 😂
Wtf? No TRM l? Major oversight.
