This one can’t fail to fully lock open when the plunge lock is disengaged. The pivot’s spring tension will always push the blade toward full extension, throughout its entire opening arc. This was not the case with some earlier Launch models.
I am planning on buying the Kershaw launch 13. From sportsman's Warehouse. For $190.00 Dollars. And i live in Pennsylvania. And Pennsylvania now allows automatic knives.

I've been watching your videos for years now, & not once have I ever heard you reference, even once, your hand size. Beyond that one glaring omission, great video.
The belly of the blade isnt really there it's different in cutting through cardboard, it's completely flat, although mine is almost negatively edged, like a ever so slight reverse V. I have a conclusion that this steel is absolutely amazing, and I regularly use 20cv, s30v, s35vn, zdp-189, 154cm, d2, etc. This blade design is incredible and I agree. It works very well and good at piercing and cutting, and no issue holding the handle. It is a well oiled and tuned machine incredible precision EDC tool.. thanks!

Like many other knife lovers, I need to stop watching knife reviews. I had to order another Roaring Fire tool roll pouch. My first one is too packed with knives stacked up. The only brand I don't own is a Spyderco and I was searching for a recommendation. This is a beautiful Kershaw, my favorite brand. I have a Ken Onion that I bought in Maui from the Snap On dealer who came to our hangar once a week. It is a thumb stud model made in early 1990's. It's still in new-like condition and sharp. What is it about knives that one can sit and watch You Tube videos and continually flick a knife open and close...quite often without realizing it. I bought a Gerber Ayako with an unusual flicking method and I love playing with it; until I inadvertently slice myself. Another great review from GT!

I wouldn't call myself an auto guy. Some out there do appeal to me, but I only own one. Some are just too pricey for me to consider at this time, but for such a stylish and cool US made auto with a steel that you usually find on customs, this thing is a great deal. I have a SOG Strat Ops that I carry often that has done it at least twice(one time cut me pretty darn good). The button on it isn’t raised enough(little travel when pushing it to deploy) and is smooth to push. As a result while doing hard tasks like lifting heavy stuff I lock it with the button lock. Something cool though is without the lock on you can do an Emerson wave like deployment where it will open as soon as you pull it out of your pocket so I don’t always have the lock on. Still generally they put button locks on push button auto knives for a reason(not all but some).
Yeah they're all great quality knives in the launch series, have you seen 7 & 8 yet ? They are both awesome, but especially 8 and is a modern take on the stiletto with a dagger style blade and is lightning quick
Cool knife! Unfortunately, some idiot Virginia legislators some time ago decided automatic knives are illegal to own. So we can’t enjoy autos or OTF knives. The are considered swithch blades.😡
man this would be an insta buy from me if it had a 4 inch blade. 2 years of buying any 3.5 inch blade and always being disappointed with every one so im not going to be fooled again. but if kershaw handed this design over to ZT and let them build a 4 inch blade flipper variant of this id be will to throw ALL my money down in a heartbeat. fingers crossed

that's an issue with wharncliffs in general, but this one looks pretty thick as it is, so that shouldn't be that bad of a problem.

I have a Launch 6 & 7 and will be picking this one up also. Very well USA made autos at a good price.

My 2 favorites from the launch series is the 7 & 8 and have both of them, but I really like that to and will be the next one l get from the series.

I do it quite often, even in restaurants when they give you a dull blade to cut your steak. I usually end up using my pocket knife.
I do with my nicer Microtech or Benchmade mini Infidel, because I always keep them clean and in good shape.

I've never had an auto accidentally deploy, but I've had the safety self engage.
The only think I don’t like is how the blade curves up so you have to angle your wrist more to make a cut where a lot of folder angle downward.

I do really like that flat blade edge. That's alot of real estate for a long straight blade.
