@@j.alfonso8036 nah, Mega Incineroar's ability is going to set up hazards, give all of the opponents stats -6, flinch them on their next move, paralyze them, set up a weather and terrain of your choice, which also activities on switch in as well, and it's also shadow tag

Galarian Corsola was pretty nutty in early Sword & Shield Signles. It was an incredible wall against physical attackers with consistent damage. Eviolite and a move set of Nightshade, Will-o-wisp, Whirlpool, Strength Sap. Corsola could trap, burn and drain the life away from anything while healing itself with Strength Sap. Knock off was a real problem so it didn't see a crazy amount of play but could solo entire teams.
Ya now, as a Rowlet fan, I was always sad Decidueye was never as busted as Incininoar, but thanks to you, I know now that Decidueye is stronger than most legendaries, nice!

I think it's simply similar to the case with normal types. With good enough stats, not really interacting with the type chart suddenly becomes a pretty big deal. An immunity to being trapped and fake out certainly helps too.
Irrelevant sidenote that everybody asked me specifically for: Normal Type should be renamed “Neutral.” It makes more sense thematically. The Normal mons have always been more like an “untyped” category compared to the rest. Also, and this is admittedly kind of a reach, but “Normal” makes it sound like this is somehow the “default” and the other types are somehow deviations away from that default, which is a tenuous argument at best, especially in light of the fact that Water is the most abundant type (i.e. if anything is is “the norm,” it’s Water, not Normal). Last Respects actually doesn't cap at 300 base power, if you use Revival Blessing (or, in-game, Revives), you can let Pokemon faint multiple times, which continues adding to the Last Respects counter. It actually caps out at a relatively modest FIVE-THOUSAND AND FIFTY (5,050) BASE POWER.
It took me a while to figure out that Ghost types were my 2nd favorite types behind Ground. Not only is their design cool, but competitively, they just hit everything not named Normal for Neutral and ironically, that's just like Ground. Ironically, Ghost are similarly weak to 2 or 3 types just like Ground. Ghost types have gotten so much love since Gen 5 and I can't wait to see what Gen 10 does
I've been trying to convince folks to give Sandyghast another look in Gen 9, thank you for shedding light on this underused MONSTER of VGC! Practically unbeatable by the current meta teams.
I know you probably wanted to talk about ghost types released in those specific generations, but I think there's also a good argument to be made to give an honorable mention to dusclops in gen 8 vgc despite it not being released then

Wolfe Glick also agree in his tyoe ranking video that Ghost is broken. The thing is before Ghost was kept in check by Pursuit, the move that singlehandedly keep those ghosts from running over the game, but since it dexited, Ghost just doesn't have anything reliably to counter it anymore. Normal is a joke, and only Dark resists Ghost, which many Ghost has sometimes to deal with it one way or another, or just switch out. Ghost is broken.
At the core of ghost type excellence I feel it's also their fairly neutral match up chart It's like they're not even playing the game, they only have up to 2 of each resistance, weakness, super effectiveness or immunity. They hit all but 2 types for neutral or super effective damage, they're only second to normal in how uninvolved they are with every other type
Can negate certain big hit moves like fake out explosion etc. Has good coverage to certain types and a multitude of move options similar to normal and fairy
