Hunter w eviolite is such a great Antimeta pick due to Levitate and being quite a counter against Sneasler. It's also so tanky. I like to play a Ring Target set over eviolite though. XD

bro doesn't even know why it got banned that's crazy. It was mostly used with webs and adaptability tera ground + agility. The second most used variant was a life orb LR set in trick room. Nobody unironically used this on rain since the rain is very easily overwritten by koraidon and it still gets outsped by scarf miraidon (which is now also banned). The reason LR got banned is because legion just tends to fish way too effectively against any style and forced everybody to run random tera normals.
Galarian Corsola was pretty nutty in early Sword & Shield Signles. It was an incredible wall against physical attackers with consistent damage. Eviolite and a move set of Nightshade, Will-o-wisp, Whirlpool, Strength Sap. Corsola could trap, burn and drain the life away from anything while healing itself with Strength Sap. Knock off was a real problem so it didn't see a crazy amount of play but could solo entire teams.
Last Respects actually doesn't cap at 300 base power, if you use Revival Blessing (or, in-game, Revives), you can let Pokemon faint multiple times, which continues adding to the Last Respects counter. It actually caps out at a relatively modest FIVE-THOUSAND AND FIFTY (5,050) BASE POWER.
Okay but... ngl, when you think about it, Mega Banette was SO fucking busted in gen 7... I didn't even know it could learn "Omega-Screw-You-Insta-Die-But-Works-With-Prankster", IMO just a tad bit stronger than Calyrex.
Ya now, as a Rowlet fan, I was always sad Decidueye was never as busted as Incininoar, but thanks to you, I know now that Decidueye is stronger than most legendaries, nice!

something you should've mentioned about gholdengo is that it's also the latest in a long line of overcorrections to the singles hazard metagame, for the uninitiated it's immune to rapid spin as a ghost type, mortal spin as a steel type and thanks to good as gold it can block defog which was previously impossible. what you need to understand if you haven't played singles is that defog was basically designed to be unblockable in order to counteract how ridiculous stealth rock was (particularly when paired with spikes in the hyper fast gen 5 metagame), so gholdengo blocking defog (along with every defog user that could threaten it magically losing access to the move in gen 9) made removing hazards so inconsistent that it's barely worth trying. so in gen 9 hazard removal is basically pointless to build around and heavy duty boots are the default item on every mon, and knock off (which was already the best move in the game by far) got even stronger since once you knock their boots they're unlikely to have a reliable way to remove hazards, and without boots you could be taking anywhere from 6% to 50% every time you switch in which makes whatever mon lost them no longer a reliable switch in
Yesss Frosslass truly is an iconic ghost type, I’m happy you mentioned their 2010 to 12 usage. I feel like a lot of people were surprised seeing them do so well but it’s not that shocking considering their move pool and flexibility
I think it's simply similar to the case with normal types. With good enough stats, not really interacting with the type chart suddenly becomes a pretty big deal. An immunity to being trapped and fake out certainly helps too.

Man, I didn’t know Weak Armor Cursola was such a Tanky Little Beast in the Gen 8 Meta Game. Jokes aside, amazing video. I honestly didn’t know my favorite Pokemon (Mimikyu) was a monster in Gen 7 because I was playing the games casually back then not knowing what Stat Boosts were. All I knew was Mimikyu was the perfect blend of Creepy and Cute and fell in love with the goober.
Ghosts have been my favorite type ever since G1. Its honestly kind of funny that the first fully evolved ghost gave the impression that ghost types would be fast when the majority of them over the years have been on the slow side. In fact, Gengar was only matched in speed by another ghost in Gen 4 by Froslass (if you don't count Arceus Ghost), only surpassed for the first time by its own mega evolution in Gen 6, and then surpassed several times after from Gen 7 and on.

Oh wow, I honestly never knew that Eviolite Misdreavus with calm mind was this omnipresent in the first year of Gen 7 VGC. It does make sense tho, as a bulky pokemon affected by neither Fake Out, nor the Gen 7 terrains, making it an amazing Tapu Lele counter, so I can see why so many people used it. (Great Video btw)
It took me a while to figure out that Ghost types were my 2nd favorite types behind Ground. Not only is their design cool, but competitively, they just hit everything not named Normal for Neutral and ironically, that's just like Ground. Ironically, Ghost are similarly weak to 2 or 3 types just like Ground. Ghost types have gotten so much love since Gen 5 and I can't wait to see what Gen 10 does

Jokes aside, amazing video. I honestly didn’t know my favorite Pokemon (Mimikyu) was a monster in Gen 7 because I was playing the games casually back then not knowing what Stat Boosts were. All I knew was Mimikyu was the perfect blend of Creepy and Cute and fell in love with the goober.

Ghosts have been my favorite type ever since G1. Its honestly kind of funny that the first fully evolved ghost gave the impression that ghost types would be fast when the majority of them over the years have been on the slow side. In fact, Gengar was only matched in speed by another ghost in Gen 4 by Froslass (if you don't count Arceus Ghost), only surpassed for the first time by its own mega evolution in Gen 6, and then surpassed several times after from Gen 7 and on.
Id love to see more analytical content in the main channel style. Things like team reports, the difference between meta and anti meta teams, etc.
Finally someone speaks about Hunter w eviolite it's such a great Antimeta pick due to Levitate and being quite a counter against Sneasler. It's also so tanky. I like to play a Ring Target set over eviolite though. XD

I know you probably wanted to talk about ghost types released in those specific generations, but I think there's also a good argument to be made to give an honorable mention to dusclops in gen 8 vgc despite it not being released then

I'm so glad mr. Boosted talked about the hidden gem Eviolite Haunter, one of the most threatening mons in the history of the game
Oh wow, I honestly never knew that Eviolite Misdreavus with calm mind was this omnipresent in the first year of Gen 7 VGC. It does make sense tho, as a bulky pokemon affected by neither Fake Out, nor the Gen 7 terrains, making it an amazing Tapu Lele counter, so I can see why so many people used it.

It took me a while to figure out that Ghost types were my 2nd favorite types behind Ground. Not only is their design cool, but competitively, they just hit everything not named Normal for Neutral and ironically, that's just like Ground. Ironically, Ghost are similarly weak to 2 or 3 types just like Ground. Ghost types have gotten so much love since Gen 5 and I can't wait to see what Gen 10 does
