Thanks Don for the morning selection. I can't believe you didn't knew Vidalia was a very sweet onion, that you can eat like an apple, so it makes you cry cos it is an onion. So the writer's play on words escaped you. The song was written by Tim Nichols and Mark D. Sanders, the song was released in 1996. The song reached #`10 on the Billboard chart. Thanks for the reaction
Great choice Don, hadn't heard it in a long time and it's still a great song! From the golden era of 90's Country (96 I think) and love Sammy. Thanks for the terrific reaction!
Love this song. Another great one you should give a reaction to is "All In The Same Boat", by Sammy Kershaw, Aaron Tippen, and Joe Diffie. If you do react to it, watch the video, it will make you laugh.
That is a great song by Sammy Kershaw. However the version you used on here and maybe the only version you heard was from a re-recorded version that he did for a hits compilation album in 2013. Here is a link to the original version from 1996 from his Politics, Religion, and Her album if you get time to listen. th-cam.com/video/K4Zr4-EV-6g/w-d-xo.htmlsi=CyygsP1Klhb7OVSy
Oddly enough though it was on his first hits compilation album "The Hits Chapter 1" from 1995, along with "Your Tattoo" which was released as a single but I don't think it got any radio airplay or enough of it for it to make the top 40.
There was a girl I was seeing long time ago. When she was acting like a you know what I'd sing part of all of that chorus at her lol. Needless to say that usually made her attitude worse lol
@@notabot3375yeah this is a re-recorded version that Sammy did in 2013 for an album of his biggest hits that he re-recorded, by which he was in his late 50s I believe. He recorded the original version of "Vidalia" back in 1996 for his "Politics, Religion, and Her" album. He was around 40 and his voice was a lot stronger then. Every one of the original versions of the songs that he re-recorded for the 2013 hits album sound much better than the re-recordings because Sammy was younger and his voice was stronger and wasn't so fragile sounding like it was in his more recent recordings.

This is a re-recorded version. The original is from the album Religion, Politics, and Her. Much better recording.
The original recording on the politics religion and her album is so much better than this version.
Yeah, I almost thought this was like all of Garth's songs where someone else is singing it.
Absolutely
I was wondering...sounded flat or something.
Yes, ugh, this isn't the original version that was a hit. Sounds bad.
