"The judge under his seat." Is literally a reference to a specific revolver as well. The Taurus Judge was the gun that helped Taurus build their brand as a reliable gun.
I'm sure it's a great process but I'm pretty content my my family life and I'm sure others are grateful for your input..

Yeah, but it looks like he took his own gun just in case, went in to beat the guy up, and only pulled his when the guy went for the shotgun. Also, you never know how stable he is, past trauma, maybe recent trauma and he lost a loved one yesterday to abuse and just snapped.

It’s so crazy, as when I was a young kid me and my dad were driving down the road in his truck and on the street a guy and his girlfriend were arguing and the guy hit the girl right there. My dad saw it, pulled straight over - told me to wait in the truck - and went over proceeding to whoop that guys ass. I’ll never forget it and it has always stuck with me… then this song came out and I knew exactly what it was about.
Made me tear up. So cool. I was born in California but I moved here 42 years ago. And I felt home.

growing up, the term "wait in the truck" was well understood by us kids. it meant dad was going to handle it. what "it" was could vary.
I think the simple thank you spoke volumes, as well as the fact that it's been five years and when she leaves the prison you see she's still waiting in his truck. Such a powerful and beautiful song.
Everyone misses the symbolism at the end…She is still waiting in the truck for him, after 5 years!!

My wife played this for me the first time I heard it. She talked about all the times she'd been worried about how far I'd go protecting someone or intervening in an incident.
The next day, my CNA played it at the office, talked about how it reminded her of the day I'd stepped between a patient and her abuser and told him he was leaving "out the door or the window but the cops won't be here soon enough to keep me from stomping your ass"
One of my old ER buddies texted me the same day asking me if I'd heard it, saying it reminded her of me.
I can't stand an abuser, makes my demons want to play. I have no empathy, sympathy, or concern for anyone who will abuse another person. My wife calls it "flipping the switch" when I get protective.
If a man will hit you once, he will beat you until he kills you. Never rationalize or excuse abuse. Leave before you're trapped. Never accept or tolerate abuse. If you have to defend yourself commit to do as much damage as you can as fast as you can as loudly as you can. Use everything you can pick up as a tool, and don't stop until they can no longer hurt you.
Never accept, tolerate, rationalize, or excuse abuse. It's not your fault if they hit you, it's not something you did, you do not deserve to be abused, and NO you can NOT change them. Abusers abuse because it's what they are. You can do better, you deserve better, you deserve love not abuse.
My little southern heart swelled with pride when your eyes lit up when she said “I never thought my day of justice
Would come from a judge under a seat”, and you knew exactly what she meant! The fact you knew what a Judge pistol is was great. We’re not far apart in how and where we grew up, and sometimes those roots run real deep!

The final scene where she is walking out of the visitor center is what really gets me. He may be in chains, but she has her freedom because of him.

This world needs more roll models like the character in this video. If people knew they would have tough consequences for crime they may not commit that crime.
I’m British, and I loved seeing your eyes light up when Lainey spoke about the Judge under the seat. There may not be many guns on the British isles, but I knew exactly what she meant.
I absolutely loved watching your very expressive face as you went through the emotions in your reaction. I too was disappointed that he does significant time, but that same justice system that puts the abuser back on the street is the justice system that punishes people for doing the job of a very corrupt system...I too love that after five years she's still waiting in the truck...just wait in the truck.
I was mentally and emotionally abused for many years. At the time, I didn't even realize it was abuse. When my thoughts kept turning to suicide, I knew it was time to get out. After I finally left, God sent me a true Angel. I was lucky enough to have him for 9 years before he passed away. He was able to help me build myself back up after being torn down for so long.
I am so proud of you for leaving and happy that you found love 💖 When someone we love passes, the only thing we can do is share their love and wisdom with the world so they can live on.
The key to life is dogs. They love you unconditionally. They give you a reason to wake up every morning. They comfort you with no questions asked. They snuggle.

Love this song. I was living in Vegas for awhile with one of my best friends. She came home from work in tears n hugged me so hard I thought she was gonna break my back and she finally thanked me and then showed me their video.
I chuckled a little once I realized why she had been crying.
We dated when we were kids and I used to step in a lot when her mother n sister would beat her. Her mom only pulled a gun on me once and it was the last time she ever did because I told her she'd better use it and hope I'm dead, because if I wasn't she'd be the only woman I'd ever lay my hands on.
I moved to Vegas to help her with a stalker problem, and once everything was good, I moved back home to help my parents put with bills due to some personal family issues.
But once everything here is good, Im gonna move back out there with her and keep an eye on her a little longee until I know she's perfectly ok without me around.

Nothing brings out the rage in me more than seeing others hurt. Especially when they are loved ones. I can stand pain against me more than watching others in pain.
I get chills every time I hear this song. I know it's fiction, but there's a good man, gone to prison for doing the right thing. It happens far too often in real life.

Leaving an abusive situation is hard for those being abused, some times they do not realize the extent of their abuse until someone outside steps in. It took me physically standing between my lovely bride of 22 years now and her abuser to get her out of that situation, even today she still struggles with the lingering effects of that abuse.
The abuse you discuss is what I watched my mom go through. Finally she found the strength to get out. She suffered for way too long. She is an amazing woman. Super happy/proud of her strength to finally get out. She’s 71 and I’m 47 but all these years later I’m so thankful she got out.
Wow. Thank you so much for sharing your story with all of us. If I could apologize for all those #@!)(*&@#!)(* out there that think they have some sort of right to abuse women. I don't care what a woman could possibly do, it would never be her fault. I would like to believe I would be the real man to step in and do what needed to be done. Thank you.

I think another aspect often overlooked is how it could be a trauma response on the male’s part.

When my best friends little sister told me and her brother, my best friend, the story of what her ex did that was our first and only question. In unison. It was all we wanted to know. Way before this song came out. She refused to say and that's probably for the best. She had just managed to escape and police were already involved. Justice was served, but I would've loved to have been a part of it.
This song just hits different even if I wasn't the one getting abused. I can't imagine I'd ever regret it if I got to him first.
As someone who has been in an abusive relationship leaving is not always as easy as it should be they isolate you, they limit your ability to communicate with outside resources or have resources available and they threaten your children and family
This song is a great example of the role of men. Men defend women. So long as the woman isn't crazy. Over 28 years I took pride in arresting abusive men. It's not easy.

That was a powerful song and message. You don't need to apologize for anything. You've been in that situation and you know how it felt. My wife was in a toxic marriage and that's exactly what she went through. I've been listening to what she went through for the last 39 years. I'm so grateful to have her in my life. Don't get me wrong, I love her just the way she is. I'm not trying to change her. Just love her for her. Trying to show her that she is loved. Thank you for sharing this video.

I love how abusers can get away with the things they do but when someone comes to the defense of the abused, they end up in prison. Sad when people have to become a vigilante because the law is lacking.

Being raised in the south we were raised understanding "wait in the truck" or "get in the car". You don't argue, you dont ask questions, you just do it cause you don't need to know. So many women in this situation pray for someone like this also The Judge under the seat is the name of that particular revolver. It's a 45 colt that also holds .410 shotgun shells.

I just discovered your channel and want to say that I really like the fact that you imbue your reactions with personal information. You're not the only reactor to talk about mental health awareness, but most don't talk about their own struggles.
I have a couple of music suggestions for you, both in your wheelhouse, and both with two key versions, the original and a cover that overshadows it.
First is Suicide Is Painless by Johnny Mandel for the film M*A*S*H (1970). There are several well known covers, but Marilyn Manson's version from 2000 is the big one.
Second is Hurt by Trent Reznor. Originally a Nine Inch Nails song from 1994, Johnny Cash covered it in 2002 and even Reznor has said "the song isn't mine anymore".

One of if not the smartest reaction to a video i’ve seen. I love the way you think.
After years of my friend hiding her bruises and cuts, I was with her when her boyfriend started belittling her relentlessly. I pulled him aside and asked him to stop. He continued. I was wearing pointed toe heels. I kicked him as hard as I could between the legs. He had surgery a short time later. She went on to marry him. The abuse continued. She no longer considered me a friend. She went on to divorce him and marry yet another guy who beat her. She had been my best friend since we were 9 years old. I would not change what I did. Once free from an abuser do your utmost to not pick another.
I felt that little exclamation when it ended. You try to gather your scattered emotions and thoughts, with too many feelings to just instantly put into words. When you've been in that situation, it just hits so hard...

I used to be the first person in line to do this to anyone who hurt any female. I’ve been successful most of the time but not always. I am not that person anymore but I’d like to think I’d still be first in line to help as best I can. Not a big country fan anymore but this song touches me and I tear up every time I hear it.
Be careful. You can get your ass sued. I've had cops tell me the worst situation they could be involved in is domestic disputes. No matter who is at blame, the other person
will attack the cop. One cop told me he and his partner would drive around and drink, and shoot out street lights. Anything to avoid domestic calls. Houston. 80's.

Good day Amanda ......... at timestamp 11:00 you are so so so correct that it is not as easy as to just leave an abusive relationship ......... there are so many reason that factor into why you are in that relationship as it never started out abusive ...... the abuse came in over time and now you feel that it is your fault and you just take it over and over until you are gone or you break and take them out ......... If you happen to be strong enough to leave then they come bake all sweet and pouring you with kindness until you come back and then slowly the abuse restarts until you are broken and think it is your fault...........

As a nameless man that collects goods and sets up apartments for women leaving the shelter.. There's no need for these beautiful women to ever know my name or HOPEFULLY never see me again.
I leave my number on the fridge because i'm long gone before the woman arrives from the shelter. On the piece of paper reads "my # & 'if you need me i will be here for you just call at any time'"
I got a call at about 2:30am.. a very shakey crying voice said "He's found me and trying to get in through the windows"
"Sally (not her name) call 911 immediately! I am on my way!"
I beat the police there!
That Ram i drive lost 1/2 it's tires life in one drive 😉... i will not go into detail of what transpired after arrival but i got cuffed and he left in a "bus". My charges were dropped by the Crown as justifiable defence of another.
I'm still setting up units and i'll GLADLY go away in cuffs again if i must to protect my girls or yours.

I first learned of this song from a facebook clip and when i heard the line about the Judge under the seat i had a rough idea where it was going with the reference to the Taurus Judge revolver. In fact it was that lyric i used to search it up on google and landed on the song. But that said seeing this reaction vid came around at the right time as a means of discovering your channel as well. The moment you mentioned having a side that was like dexter i chuckled knowing full well that part of you would be satisfied with how the story went.

Powerful song and story line! Hardy is an amazing talent But she is absolutely fantastic,, such raw, pure talent! Years ago a person i know was beating his girl friend up when i went to visit a good friend of mine. I asked what the hell was going on he said, "Bob" is beating her up again. i walked into the house and told her to go to the car, then proceeded to show him what it was like to have someone whip you like a dog and there is nothing you can to stop it. Told him ,"touch her again and I'll come back and finish the job". they broke up , he never touched her or any other female again,, i just took her to her parents house..was the last time i ever saw her.. so yeah there are still a few of us left,,
Something the song doesn't directly explain is whether he was originally going to shoot him or just rough him up, because it mentions the shot once the guy is reaching for his own gun, plus in the video he does grab him some first, but the guy quickly panicks and reaches for the gun.
I know my husband would do the same thing if he knew me back then when I was going thru abuse. And I had an ex boyfriend recently that was diagnosed with a tumor & messaged me to know the names of the men that attacked me to serve justice. Yes 2 different situations. I was abused then attacked my 3 men. I told him I didn’t want to dig up the past & they would meet their maker. This song is powerful.

My husband like to hit me and throw me around. I went to bootcamp. He tried it once when I got back. I can still see him sitting on the couch, holding his face and screaming you broke my jaw. I didn’t but he never did it again. This guy in the video seems to have had nothing to lose except his truck.
My friends always wondered why I would stay with the guy that hit me. It was an upgrade from my parents. They beat me daily and he only hit me once every month.
I did a lot of therapy to make sense of it all. We divorced because I couldn’t forgive him. I have forgiven him now that he’s died, it’s easier.

In this story he did the morally right thing. It was illegal but he knew it. Morals over laws is the right way to live.
I've been wanting to hear you react to this one for a while now. I was excited to see on your Patreon that it was coming up. I very much believe in giving a chance for people to heal as well, but I'm very much a "Dexter Morgan" type of person who wants to see someone stopped if they're not going to change. I LOVE this song! One of my favorite parts is when he says he sat on the porch smoking one of HIS cigarettes and waited for the cops to come, as if he's saying "I did it, he deserved it, do what you need to do." It brings out the protector in me. I've entered a strangers apartment before to pull a girl out and hold the guy who was beating her in front of the window in there until the cops showed up. She was escorted through the apartment by the police the next day to get her things. Another country song I like that's similar to this one is "Baby who hurt you" by David Morris.
I've been lucky to have had four men in my life who would step in a situation. My father and my mother's brother are two. My late husband and current fiance would also. I'm blessed to have four men like that in my life.

He didn’t need to ask what happened because he knew , he’d seen it before in a sister or mother. He decided never again.
That's EXACTLY what I've thought ever since I first saw the video.
To add to the other comments... he was not a bad man, he was not an evil man... perhaps he grew up in a house of abuse.... as he knew what had happened to her without asking... he was a man who saw a need, saw an evil and acted on that need and evil. He was a man of faith (evidenced by the court scene bridge (Oh Lord have mercy on me was not asked to the court system... it was a plea to God) and visibly evidenced by the cross hanging on his rear view mirror... was his action legal, obviously not based on the trial, was it morally just.... that is up to each individual for you cannot legislate morality... but for every victim of DV, he would be an answered prayer... and for every man... the story forces the question... "what would I do?"
I recently picked up on another aspect of the acting...you can see the transfer of 'weight' from the weight on her as a DV victim... to him, as the reality of what he did sank in looking at the body on the floor... she has her weight lifted as she no longer has to live that life... and the weight of the decision he made settles onto his shoulders, heart and mind.
I know I've left you books on previous videos, one was Metallica's One if I remember correctly, and this video is another one that really hit home and made me break down so I apologize ahead of time for another book. I've heard this song many times on the radio and do enjoy it. However I've never seen the video or someone's reaction to it. Every time I hear this song, all I see is my wife and the pain and suffering she went through with her ex husband and how amazing it must have felt to have someone stand up for you when you couldn't. For years he mentally and physically abused her and one day beat her for nearly three hours and actually tried to strangle her to death. All with their three children in the house, which I'm happy to say I have adopted and are MY kids and I love them more than anything in this world! And it was all because she asked him not to do drugs in front of their kids the night before. He only received 18 months in jail then got out and did it again with his new gf. He has continued to haunt us both knowing he's still out there and we are going on 9 years later. He is still always in the back of our minds. So the story and meaning of this song really hits close! I would give anything! Including my life and freedom to have been there to give that scum of the earth what he really deserved like in this song! Regardless if I knew her or their situation or not! This is something that I, and everyone should never see acceptable or as a maybe he can change and blah blah thing. Absolutely zero tolerance for these disgusting acts! And to have a legal system that doesn't appropriately punish these monsters is just as disgusting! It took 3 years for the system to finally approve their divorce and another 4 for me to adopt them. So yeah...again thank you for making me cry like a baby and end up share more of my life story than I probably should have. But, we all have our demons in this crazy messed up thing we call life and sometimes need to let it out.

We’re badly in need of a return to frontier justice. The crimes are vicious, the criminals are animals, and the justice system couldn’t care less.

Due to what i went through i have ended up living in a nursing home for the rest of my life and my abuser has their freedom and his in hiding. It took me passing out and not responding for the jerk to get scared enough to call for help. I have a disability so leaving after being isolated from people was difficult, i have severe PTSD and can't sleep due to fear of reoccurring nightmares of the disgusting things my abuser did to me. 😢 That song is great.

YES! I lived this and unfortunately he only got 3 yrs PROBATION after he ne a rly killed me broke my back in 4 places and shattered my skull with a crowbar after violating a Domestic Violence order 2 times in 3 days!!!! I am forever shattered n with a Tramadic brain injury and can't walk! I never got justice n I wished I had someone like this in my corner!!! Glad to know there r actual men out there who would do this for a woman
The song is the embodiment of what real masculinity is for a society!! Real men will stand and protect anyone who has been harmed and wont think twice about it, or cry when the repercussions come.

Hahaha 80% that is BS, I was a Marksmanship instructor in the Marine Corps and I would only say about 35% of the the people that volunteered to serve had ever touched a weapon, let alone be ready to take a life with one.
@@bobreighnheart5071 As I said, depends on the area. I grew up in Missouri which is very much hunting country. Myself and many of my friends were taught to shoot young (though myself always with targets - I would never hunt.)

I'm a 29 year old alcoholic and cigarette smoker with depression and a heart that longs for romance and love that's never had it and this song just makes me want to rescue someone from this kind of life and show them what love is really like. However, I know it will never happen and it's a complicated relationship and mentality. I've always had a guardian angel mentality and it sucks to feel like no one would ever love you for who you are and what kind of emotional and physical paradise you could offer them.
I believed since losing my parents in 05 and 07 that I was unlovable. Several toxic relationships reinforced that. Until 2 years ago. I am with someone now who makes me blissfully happy and loves even my "devil face". It's not impossible!
