As somebody who's watched over 20 comparison videos for lenses recently, thank you for doing this so well, so quick, and actually having side by side shot comparisons . Super helpful
A very useful comparison video - thank you. I have since purchased the Sigma and can endorse the quality you have demonstrated. I love this lens and sure I have made the right choice. Thanks for your help.
Thanks for getting to the point. The Tamron is on my list to pair with my D500, mainly for wildlife. I like the extra reach I will have with the crop sensor, but the 6.3 apeture at the long end is holding be back. Good lighting is a must with both lenses, so I will ponder a while longer.
Thanks for a straight forward video that wasn't 25 minutes long. I tend to scroll on past those, most of the time anyway. Sigma seems to be the winner on every comparison review of these 2 lenses.
WIth such a difference between the two (i.e. the Tamron being so much darker), I’d be interested to see if the same thing happened with two other examples of these lenses.
Can you tell us the cost of the also the clothes focusing of these because some people use these lenses for birds and butterflies and maybe even some scenic thrown in at 300 to 400 mm .
Mate, thanks! very interesting comparison.... i really wish if you could also have included comparison on video quality using these two lenses? and capturing photos of flying birds... nonetheless, thanks Mate!
I have seen several videos on both of these lenses and the one video shows the comparison of them on both full frame and cropped sensor camera's and the sigma apparently is sharper than the Tameron on the cropped sensor, which my Sony a77 is and also found the sigma cheaper too
Thank you for the short, but useful comparison - I own the sigma, but both these lenses are very good. I own other sigma and tampon lenses and they can really produce good "bang for the buck". My experience with sigma is great sharpness and build, but the color and contrast can be a little wild compared to "L" glass. That said, the Sigma 150-600 is really a great glass for the money takes care of my mega telephoto urges when I need it. I don't do enough nature or sports to justify the thousands for L mega telephoto glass.
Thanks for the great video! A long, long time ago I used to be a photographer. I decided to pursue other avenues and the expensive gear got sold off. I used an Olympus for hobby photography for many years. Last year, I found a Nikon D5600 combo on sale and got it. For the price, the D5600 is an amazing camera. I've been looking for a long lens to shoot wildlife with. One of the lenses I was looking at was the Sigma. Your frank comparison was easy to follow and it helped me make up my mind. Keep up thee good videos.
so which of these two would you recommend for astrophotography, ie. the moon? is there any real difference between them while shooting at max range at night? I'm bearing in mind which of these appears sharper at max range with best details as I'm wanting to get more crater shots. TIA
You mentioned something to the fact that if one owns a rather "up-to-date" camera then the AF & stabilization should work well.... Let's not forget that if ones camera battery isn't charged enough or is below 30%, the lens will act accordingly. Alot about how the lens operates/functions is based upon the camera's battery. This is why we have a auxillary battery (...or two!) Connected to the camera hence a battery pack added to the bottom of the camera. The lens is only as good as the camera battery.
If you look closely at photos taken with Tamron lenses, they appear a little darker due to the depth of color. The images taken with the Sigma lens seem bright, flat, and a bit lacking in depth.
i disagree why people want the g2 vs the contenporary it is not a fair test the g2 is a new and more expensive lens. the g2 vs the sport is a better test.
I don't think so The difference of price is important Sigma contemporary : 1280 CAD$ Tamron G2 : 1599 CAD$ Sigma Contemporary : 2600 CAD$ 300 dollares difference between the G2 and the contemporary 1.000 dollars difference between the G2 and the Sport

I wish you may have included the new Tamron G2 into this comparison

Sigma seems to be way better than the Tamron, in terms of optics and lately also with firmware support. I just ordered mine today.
Thanks for covering all the important stuff !
I just purchased a sigma base on your review! Thank you!
Thank you, for mi one of the best comparatives.I bought the SIGMA.
how do you like it. would you buy it again?
Best comparison video of these 2 lenses on TH-cam!
Is the Tamron a G2 version? I'm looking for one of these, thx for the comparison.

Nice comparison!
Which version is the Tamron lens? The A011 or the A022 one?
How does this lense work on a Canon EOS200D camera? Any experiences?
I have seen several videos on both of these lenses and the one video shows the comparison of them on both full frame and cropped sensor camera's and the sigma apparently is sharper than the Tameron on the cropped sensor, which my Sony a77 is and also found the sigma cheaper too
So sir according to you which lens should I buy? Because one of them is going to be my first telephoto lens please help 🙏 😊
I'm getting the newer Sigma 60-600mm Sports lens next week, can't wait! Thanks for the review.
Good Job on the test of these lenses. What Camera Backpack do you recommend for a large man as yourself?

Very helpful. Thanks for the great comparison video.
Hi thank you for your video. do you have any advice for astrophotography in 2020? do you still recommand one of these two?
Excellent comparison, very useful as I am looking at getting a lens of this focal length. Cheers !!
I'm in the market for both of these lens and this video helped a lot. Thanks!
Deon, I have the Canon EOS 80D. Will the Sigma 150-600 work on it?
Yes
Me ha gustado mucho el vídeo, estoy dudando entre uno y otro, pero no sé inglés y no encuentro la forma de traducirlo. Gracias
why the tyamron's photos looks a bit darker than sigma's?
DID YOU SET MICRO ADJUSTMENTS B4 TEST?
If you look closely at photos taken with Tamron lenses, they appear a little darker due to the depth of color.
The images taken with the Sigma lens seem bright, flat, and a bit lacking in depth.
Hello, Which is the best? Because I want to buy.....thank you
Background blur is better on the Tamron because the whole picture is more blurry.
Was hoping to also hear a bit about the focus speed.
It's at 1:10
Thanks
Awesome video and commentary 👌
Good Comparison thanks
i disagree why people want the g2 vs the contenporary it is not a fair test the g2 is a new and more expensive lens. the g2 vs the sport is a better test.
I don't think so
The difference of price is important
Sigma contemporary : 1280 CAD$
Tamron G2 : 1599 CAD$
Sigma Contemporary : 2600 CAD$
300 dollares difference between the G2 and the contemporary
1.000 dollars difference between the G2 and the Sport
At your opinion sir which is the best lens sigma or tamron
thanks.... very clear now .
Thanks for showing the comparison
It didn't help me :D
to my eyes sigma is more brighter and bring the picture lively, side by side Taron looks less noise comparing to Sigma,
Every review....Sigma is brighter.
どっちかが欲しいのですが、やぱりシグマなのかなぁという感想です。比較検証ありがとうございます。
自分は安かったからタムロン買いましたが、周りのカメラマン見てるとモタスポ界はSIGMA一択ですねぇ
Bro do u ship overseas

I went ahead got the Sigma and I have no regrets...
Get me a guy to carry the extra 800g of the Sigma S through the Alps and I'd love to get the plus of sharpness of the Sigma
Very helpful!
Great

Nice explained and he look like WWE Star The big show
sigma!
Feel free to gift me either one :)
I can't believe that you DID NOT USE THE GII! Sorry a waste of my time watching...
I have to agree!
Christopher Engell Agree. Title indicates G2 tamron is tested.
I did a similar test and found the sigma better check out my videos
Thanks
