- Sausage Pinwheels
2 packages (16 ounces each) pork sausage
1/2 medium red bell pepper (diced)
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
2 packages (8 ounces each) crescent sheets *
Preheat oven to 400°.
In a medium bowl combine the sausage, red pepper, and onion. Mix well and set aside.
Unroll one package of crescent sheets into a large rectangle. Spread half the sausage mixture over the rectangle, spreading to the edges and covering completely. Starting from a narrow end, roll up jelly-roll style. Cut each roll into eight equal slices and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or sprayed with nonstick spray. Repeat with the other package of crescent sheets and the rest of the sausage mixture.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until the sausage is no longer pink and the crust is golden brown. Serve warm.
* You can use crescent rolls instead of the crescent sheets and press the seams together if you prefer or can’t find the crescent sheets.

I say this a lot to y’all. I just love the way you are so clear in ingredients and instructions.
I'll bet you were a good school teacher. I wonder what you taught.
I have to bring a breakfast item to Bible study this week....well, guess what I am bringing! TY, you guys, as you always come through with great recipes ❤
Hello Tom and Melissa. I can't say I have had sausage pinwheels. I'm definitely going to try this. I love these quick and easy recipes. Thank you for letting us know that we can even freeze them. Such a versatile recipe. Thank you. Can't wait to try these.
Just a suggestion..next time get a piece of dental floss and slide under to the width you want them and cross string on top. It will slice perfectly without having to use a knife or tear up your pinwheels. Love to see your videos.
That's what I was thinking while watching. Even a non-serrated knife would be better.
I'm going to find out because these look soooo good.
That’s how we were taught to slice cinnamon rolls in home economics (1976).
Great suggestion. Thanks!
I love precooked food.!!!! I like home made precooked food.!!!! Like you said. , if you are in a hurry and want something quick. , or just don't feel like cooking. I. know this is not cooked. But. It goes straight from the freezer to the oven. As soon as I put it in the oven. , I feel like breakfast. , or dinner is served. Thank you so very much for this wonderful precooked recipe. , and God Bless you both. 💙💚💛🧡❤
You two are such a gas to watch! I usually go straight to the end of each or your videos for the recipe "taste" then back to the beginning to watch the entire vid. I drool like a Saint Bernard when you bite into whatever you've made, with facial expressions and sound effects, you clearly enjoy the fruit of your labor. Thank you so much for the wholesome, down home videos!
That would be awesome with country gravey over them . Yummy
Hi Tom and Melissa. I always end up hungry after watching your videos. Yum and thanks for the specific suggestions and appropriate substitutions.

Wow! Those sausage pinwheels sound so yummy! I was wondering if adding some softened cream cheese to the sausage mixture would make them even yummier!
I do that when I make them.
With the holidays around the corner I will surely be making these, Thanks so much Tom and Melissa.
You explain everything so clearly. Wonderful videos. I love them. You must have been a fabulous teacher. Thanks for this recipe.
My mother in law made these every New Years. She used pizza dough and assembled them like cinnamon buns. Slice, bake and enjoy, I miss her cooking, her sense of humor, her big heart.
Ooo! Yummy. That’s a great idea. They look so good and you could put anything in it. Just dice small. One of these and some scrambled eggs is a total meal. Thanks Tom and Melissa 🥐🐷❤
Yes! I was thinking the same thing, Aside of delicious scrambled eggs and a little bit of syrup for dipping sauce for those pinwheels! YUM-YUM😋👍🤠
My wife makes something similar but she uses cream cheese in the mixture of sausage and crescent rolls very good. I can’t wait to make these for her.
That sounds wonderful! Do you know how much cream cheese she uses?
@karencarson7232 I've seen other recipes that use 1 block of cream cheese.
@@karencarson7232
It’s more to your taste
She uses the crescent rolls and puts around a tablespoon of the mixture at the large end rolls and bakes. Hope you enjoy
Wow! Yet another great idea. I imagine that would be tasty with a side of grits😊

Thank you both, Tom and Melissa, it looks yummy, you make us feel like we are friends. Watching from Indiana, God bless
I might make theses for Christmas breakfast or for our Bible study. I think everyone would like them. Thanks!
fyi you can place the roll into the freezer for about 5 - 10 minutes .. easier cutting into eights. Also you could spread cream cheese on the pastry before the meat mixture..

I’m thinking before rolling add some scrambled eggs then right before coming out of the oven top with cheddar cheese. Might require a fork to eat though 😋 Looks so yum!
