Your monkey bread looks wonderful. Mine is done differently of course. Some hints: 1. Use cans of cinnamon rolls (so delicious!) 2. Stack 3-4 biscuits together and cut with a pizza cutter. It’s much faster. 3. I don’t dip in the butter. The biscuits are sticky enough that the cinnamon sugar sticks very well. I put the cinnamon sugar in a gallon bag put in some pieces and shake a little to coat then put in bundt pan. The biscuits are sticky enough without the butter dip. 3. Put in the bundt pan as you did. 4. Then in a pan melt one stick of butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and pour all over the top. Bake as you did. Thanks Tom and Melissa
Thank you for this! I was just thinking that when I made this I poured the butter and sugar on top after putting in the lancet pan but I couldn’t remember exactly how I did it! That’s for the refresher! I think I just used the leftover cinnamon sugar in the melted butter but to be honest I don’t remember. Love this stuff!
Tom and Melissa..I too am a teacher ( Kdg) for 43 years! (1971-2014) I so enjoy your channel,as your recipes are so much like I always made from the 70's and 80's . Great food, great times, GREAT MEMORIES! Thank you for making my day every time!
I’ve been married almost 51 years & have cooked and baked a lot, I have never baked this. I make a Italian monkey bread. It’s absolutely delicious. Now I’ve got to try this… it looks delicious! Thank you for sharing another scrumptious recipe. ❤
@@SW01 I’d be happy to. This is totally different. I use 2 cans of regular biscuits ( not flaky). 2 cans biscuits 1 package of small pepperoni 1 jar tamed jalapeños ( Paramount brand) I can black olives I jar green olives 1 stick butter melted 1 8oz pkg shredded Italian cheese Italian seasoning Pizza sauce for dipping but is delicious without the sauce Open 2 cans of biscuits Drain the olives and tamed jalapeños Flatten out each biscuit in the palm of your hand, put a few pieces of pepperoni on each biscuit add 1-2 jalapeños, then place 2-3 slices of green and black olives on each biscuit. Close it up into a round ball. Roll in melted butter and place around the bundt pan. Sprinkle with Italian cheese and Italian seasoning. Do the same with the 2nd can of biscuits. Once you place these 10 biscuits on top of the first ones just pour the remaining butter over all of them and add your seasoning and the rest of the cheese. Bake per temp directions on the biscuit for about 30 minutes. It’s important to slice the olives at least in 1/2 so you can close the biscuits up good. I honestly could eat this every day. I can't eat nuts so when I make monkey bread I dice up apples very very small and distribute them through out and it's. Kind of like an apple fritter taste. Thank you so much I haven't made this for awhile so it looks like I will be making this real soon Thank you very much. I love to watch you and your wife do these videos
Yay, I found the recipe that I had made in the 90s. All of the other recipes I found today had the pour over melted butter and brown sugar. This recipe is so much easier and tastes amazing. I believe I made this for a Bible study back then too. I just made it for work and I'm sure my coworkers are going to be happy!!
I’ve never made monkey bread with biscuits! Genius!! My last women’s Bible study (til summer) is next week! I’m taking this to leaders’ meeting before the actual class. There will be more than enough for our small discussion group, as well!!! I’m sure Jesus loved cinnamon and sugar!! Thanks so much for the best “twist” to my old recipe!!! Blessings❤
A lot of sites make apple dumplings and the recipes vary but yours are the prettiest and most appealing. You cook and bake with love for your dear family and friends. 😊
I love this! I usually make a pan of it at Christmas, adding a layer of red and green maraschino cherries, raisins, and chopped pecans in between each biscuit layer and serve it for breakfast as a sort of a pinch cake. Everyone just sort of pinches clumps of yummy off of the cake of monkey bread.
That's a great idea! We love those foods we make for special occasions. I shared this one at Bible study so I wouldn't be tempted to enjoy too much of it at home!

I live in Australia and we don’t have those delightful ‘popping’ cans of breads you bake at home. I wish we did! So i made a batch of enriched dough and then followed your directions. I travel to Sydney often and stay overnight at a wonderful small hotel on my way and i made a batch and froze it before i left, so that by early morning, it had defrosted and started to rise. The hotel has a huge shared kitchen so by the time staff arrived, i had this bread baking as a thankyou for all the care they always show my 88 year old Mama and myself. There was enough to also share with the guests (they offer a small buffet breakfast so it was grudgingly added to the table) the hotel smelled amazing all day, i was told. They loved it! I realised when i watched this video that it isnt a yeasted bread you use, it’s a quick bread! I will definitely try it this way next time as i will do it again and also add some nuts which my family never did but i imagine it is a combination made in heaven. Thankyou
Brings back great memories. My grandmother always made monkey bread for every family gathering. She also made a fantastic custard sauce for any cake that was deemed a bit stale. She hated waste. Who does that remind me of?
Can’t wait to bake this. Recipe I had called for butterscotch pudding mix and I never have that or can find it. My boys will be thrilled when I make this in the next day or so. I will take advice of one reader who suggested diced apple pieces rather than nuts since I can’t eat them. Thanks again for your time & scrumptious recipe.
