      If sora is the MoM then the time travel and dimension traveling shit they introduce will cripple the story. Right now there is so much potential that the story is fucking goated. Ventus was born pure of heart, that may be why darkness is so tied to him (light allows the shadow to be cast) so what if sora is just like ventus (maybe thats why soras heart was able to heal him) both are pure humans of light, which gives darkness a foothold from the shadow their light allows to be cast. Loved the analysis!

    • @eddog6666
      @eddog6666 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I always been saying that the kingdom hearts we were playing as the darkness not the light.
      Because of this line: seven lights thirteen darknesses.
      Of the organization 13 there is only 7 official members of the real organization 13. And how many do we have?
      1 sora. 2 Kairi. 3 Riku. 4 Ven. 5 Terra. 6 Aqua. 7 Roxas. 8 Xion. 9 Lee. 10 Mickey. 11 Donald. 12 goofy. 13 Ephimiser.
      What was the last number? 13. And 13 is 6 more then 7.
      So why haven’t fans realize that the main characters are the villains along?

      The player character protagonist to save fallen sora will be the 'definitely not noctis', after it is important to remember BOTH of those characters are important to Nomura. The more Nomura is able to transfer his responsibilities in the FF7R series unto others, the sooner the KH story will continue. Unless....oh dear SE decides they want to see a Yoko Taro KH..... though it will be disneyless, cause there is no way the mouse would knowingly let Taro touch their characters.

    • @LimeadeRaimi
      @LimeadeRaimi ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I mean if Riku got evilized a second time at THIS point it would also be fucked. The only reason why Riku wasn't full cataclysm apocalypse mode in KH1 is because he's just powered with Maleficent's darkness who didn't have any real specific darkness aside from darkness in general. At THIS point, Riku would not only have his own darkness but also probably Hurt if some memory related event makes him willingly become evil again. While we haven't seen 100% absolute Hurt, what we've likely seen of Hurt produces some concerning results (Namely Sora's reaction to being challenged on his "memories" of Namine). And if that is what actually happens when harboring it, Riku could produce some absolute CARNAGE.

    • @tobex6626

      I like to think of it as "The light turning to the Dark." If light turns dark, then what hope is there. The same way Baldr in Dark Road was consumed by sadness, anger, and then vengeance, Sora nearly fell into the same cycle in KH3. Without someone there to remind him of hope and the belief in himself, the light that guides the world, the child of destiny falling to darkness would mean cataclysm
      Too deep, but a cool philosophical approach to Sora being the great evil. Also, I can see the Ux parallel of Sora (Player character) fighting his against his two best friends in the end (Donald and Goofy at first, but ultimately Riku and Kairi stopping him 😢)

    There's a lot of bits and pieces that hint at the possibility of maybe not villain but antagonist rather. From him turning into a heartless in the first game, old KH1 trailers, 2 keyblade wielders legend, his multiple dark forms, etc to symbolism and references to 7 sins, his being pride, lions and kings etc. Some of the stronger points of Sora's character are, his never dying optimism, his friends and connections as strength, simplicity and his tendency to break rules and do what he feels is right.
    Not to tell both Luxu and Xehanorth constantly seem to prepare Sora in a way, it's never entirely antagonistic and go as far as warning him and explaining things to him. Almost like testing him, or maybe simply confident of what he'll become.
    With all that in mind it doesn't sounds too far off that with the constantly being dragged into the darkness and light conflict, if his heart got jaded enough, separated from his light and friends, and casted away from worlds of dreams into "unreality" and was trying to either end that never ending battle or escape that, he very well could end up doing terrible things with good intention. Specially since he doesn't hesitate to use the power of awakening. A strong light casts a long shadow.
    I like the idea of a Sora who lost his way facing a more pure optimist Sora from long ago, to remind him who he was before losing that, to save Sora from himself.

    So, in Days we fight Sora's memories, Vanitas, we fight Sora's image, but in Coded, we fight him consumed by darkness, but, also his data.
    Kingdom Hearts has gone out of the way to say the planes of reality are, (not counting Quadradum) The World, The Data World, and The Realm of Dreams. But, that's just it, Memories, Data, and Dreams- in Dream Drop you fight Armored Ventus, which, yes is Ventus' heart coming to Sora's aid, but we've fought the core aspects of Sora. His Memories, his Data, his image, which, came from his heart, so in a roundabout way, his heart, and his Dreams. And, as said in the video, Sora's pain, as well, through Data Roxas. While I do believe that having Sora become a villian would be terrifyingly beautiful, there are a few points of evidence that I'm not too sure I am convinced about, at least going in the direction that you are.
    1. Lets talk about point 30:16 the Melody of Memory "Possession" Now, part of this comes from delving a bit deeper in Union Cross since the finale. Let me start by saying I don't really think possession is actually what's happening here. Lets remember the name of the game is "Melody of Memory" Memory has always played a vital role in the Kingdom Hearts Saga and more recently we have discovered that actually it has even deeper meaning that we thought. I think your counterpoint was more on the mark, Kairi drove out her memory of Sora in order to create a stand-in but, this could also play a pivitol role in Sora's return...
    In Union Cross the Master explains his plan regarding the dandelions and the lifeboat, his plan is to send them into the future but, as stated by Xhenort that isn't exactly easy, however here, he explains the whole formula, to send someone through time, they must give up their body, to reconstitute, there must be a you waiting for you there, but the way that the Master describes it is that a memory and a catalyst can be used. The most prime example to date, is Brain, when he was brought into the future he landed in Scala en Callum, this event was probably not random.
    Luxu's job was to observe, therefore, he had to have had an idea of where each person would land. Luxu had the memory the catalyst was his hat.
    Now, lets return back to Sora, we know that Sora is in a place outside of time, time and space work differently. We also know that at the time of Re:Mind he was in the Final World. Lets call this Limbo. For one time only he was allowed to traverse but he no longer had a physical body that existed within the world with his friends, however, in this case his friends could be the Memory AND the catalyst. This would also work for past Sora himself, because his past self has the memories, so for a brief time as a "ghost" he was able to use the connections and the memories to stand by his friends side and change things. Still with me? Okay,
    Lets imagine, that the Keyblade itself could in fact be a catalyst, who did he go into in Re:Mind, himself and Roxas, Old Sora had the Kingdom Key Roxas had obivion and Oathkeeper but lets not forget, originally he had the Kingdom Key, if Oblivion and and Oathkeeper are in fact forms of the same Key the rule works.
    Okay, okay so, if all this is possible why can't Kairi or any of his friends bring him home, why is is still trapped? And even more to the point, how does this work for Kairy and Melody of Memory?
    Dreams contain Memory
    This is something we are told before in the series. What does that mean, well, to answer that, we have to surmise where Kairi is in Melody of Memory. Ideally, the question isn't that difficult Kairi is in the Realm of Sleep. Her memories, her dreams allow her to pull a Xion, creating the form of Sora.
    Okay, now lets talk about the second thing.
    Bequethement;
    Your theory suggests that Luxu is not actually the owner of The Gazing Eye; I'm not so sure, In the Backstory and in Union Cross, the Master knows he's going to vanish. so he creates this long endgame scheme one in which apparently Luxu is vital. I believe that the Master did actually bequeath The Gazing Eye to Luxu and lets not forget that the Keyblade Xhenort was holding when he "accepted" Sora was the X-blade. So, Xhenort dies, and his "Original" Keyblade goes back to its former Master Luxu.
    BUT WAIT!!!
    Does that mean that Sora still hasn't been bequeathed?? Not Necessarily. Even though there was no special rhyme like Tera did with Riku, Xhenort did in fact "Accept" Sora. So, if its not Gazing Eye, what keyblade has he inherited? Well, we could surmise that he inherited the X-blade but, that seems like it would make Sora a bit broken in the future.
    BUT
    Lets not forget that the X-blade was the first, the Keyblade to rule them all. Therefore, this means it has the entire Keyblade legacy. From here two options open up.
    1. Sora can now wield ALL Keyblades (This again, seems a bit broken)
    2. The Keyblade has now fully accepted him and therefore he can keep his hold onto the Kingdom Key. This would actually be poetic and continue with Kingdom Hearts beginnings.
    Lets not forget, originally The Kingdom Key did hold a specific significance, it was meant to keep balance in the realm of light while its counterpart, The Kingdom Key D was to be used to keep balance in the realm of Darkness. (large wall of text continuing in a new comment)

    This...would explain soo much if Sora is the Master. For the longest, I always wondered: Why Ven? What lead a newborn's heart to find his broken heart in that very moment? And then the thought of Sora orchestrating (and using possession of himself/and those connected to him) all of this...it's clear. He orchestrated Xenahort to keep Ven in order to unlock his darkness which made Vanitas, he then lead his infant heart to forever be connected with Ventus and therefore setting the stage for Roxas. Then adding Xenhort, Braig, etc. as basically pawns in his web, and soon bringing fourth the organization and whatnot. And the Yozora battle explaination was exactly what I was thinking! To save someone by fighting them feels like a clear indication that Sora has done something wrong in the future or another realm (or his older self the Master told Yozora that Sora needed to be saved by ridding him of his light).
    I defiantly agree with you, it's a very scary yet really interesting scenario, and I love it.

  • @Melaphoric
    @Melaphoric 3 ปีที่แล้ว +34

    Yozora is possibly the Sora boss fight in KH3. Firstly, his name. Yozora is clearly meant to evoke Sora. Sora meaning "sky" and Yozora meaing "night sky".
    Secondly, Yozora is probably a heart transferred character like Braig or Terranort. We learn from the nameless star that his heart has been replaced. When Sora calls him Yozora, he asks how he knows that, which is a normal think to ask if a stranger somehow knows your name, but later on he asks Sora how he knows that his name is specifically Yozora. Yozora also says, "this isn't what I really look like". So, what all this leads me to believe that Yozora is not the name of the body, but the name of the heart that replaced the original owner of the body. This would explain why Yozora asks why Sora knows the name of his heart when he is in another person's body and being in another's body means he doesn't look like what he really looks like.
    Thirdly, what Yozora's original body looks like probably looks like Sora. In Toybox, Rex and Hamm recognize Sora as Yozora and call him that all through out. This is strange because they don't look alike and Donald even says so. So, why do Rex and Hamm think that Sora is Yozora? Yozora's original body must have looked like Sora and they would've seen it when they were playing Verum Rex.
    Lastly, the reason why Yozora's original body looks like Sora and why he's so powerful is because his original body is possibly Sora himself. In Dream Drop Distance, Sora briefly falls to darkness. In doing so, he loses all of his powers and the power of waking, the powers of a master keyblade wielder. What I'm getting at is that all this that was lost became Yozora and somehow found itself into the body of the character that we meet in Remind. So, what's the evidence of this? Yozora is the most difficult boss fight in the entire series. Sora's master keyblade wielder abilities could give such challenge. When he steals the Sora's keyblade, regardless of which keyblade you're using, Yozora always uses the Ultima keyblade to attack. This further reflects his keyblade mastery as that's what the ultima keyblade represents. The final piece of evidence, Yozora has the power of waking. Yes that's right. Young Xehanort describes the power of waking as "the ability to traverse hearts to reach worlds". This is accurate to the first time that we see the power of waking get used when Riku uses it on Sora in Dream Drop Distance. Riku dives down to Sora's station of awakening (his heart) and then goes to destiny islands. Riku traversed a heart to reach a world. And Yozora does the same thing. He first points his crossbow at Sora, then Sora's station of awakening (his heart) appears from underneath, then Quadratum renders in around them. Yozora traversed a heart to reach a world. Yozora has the power of waking.
    Yozora is the Sora boss fight in KH3 because Yozora wields all the power that Sora lost in Dream Drop Distance.

    Very well put together. Apparently the algorithm favors you some since all I did was click one mod video and suddenly you're in my feed. But your video reminds me of when Everglow posted his thoughts and theory on Ansem's Guardian being Terra after DDD, a theory that went pretty under the radar over the years until KH3 flat out showed it as a fact. Granted, I'm sure some people talked about it but I rarely ever saw the community discuss it much despite it being a pretty obvious take to make. I for one definitely feel the MoM being Sora theory has a lot going for it and its recognition in the fandom goes back and forth every now and then. However, you made some very well thought out points with many references and lore facts to help assert the plausibility of Sora being the villain of the story. Add it with Yozora's mysterious dialogue towards Sora in Remind and you've got yourself a well oiled theory that's closer to truth than fiction based on evidence presented. While nothing is set in stone, I will be keeping an eye on this theory video as the series continues. I'll be back if the theory somehow becomes reality as you are definitely the only person I've seen make a fairly in depth video analysis on this topic even compared to the more prominent members of the KH theory community so its only right that you deserve a good chunk of credit if it turns out you predicted everything pretty accurately. Here's to hoping you're right on the money cuz we all know that if this becomes true it'll make for an incredible time

      You bring up a good point actually. Sora, for always being considered the nice, forgiving, happy-go-lucky kid, actually has quite a short temper and a tendency to lash out when he's upset. He is emotionally mature towards other people, but the way he behaves suggests that he doesn't understand his own feelings at all. We see him repress his negative emotions like sadness and try to put on a happy face for others. But when things overwhelm him he loses control and just tries to inflict pain, be it through his words or by attacking the person who upset him. He dances around his own feelings and doesn't seem to know how to set healthy boundaries.

    So all what he said in the opening was true for himself (During the serie, his world was taken (KHI), and also his heart (When he became a Heartless or also at the End of KH3D, and at the end of KHIII, he was Cut from all he know !)

    I'd like to add something to your theory:
    My take on why Sora became the Master of Masters is that he, in his desperation, became deranged and wrote the book of prophecies after becoming accustomed to the powers of manipulating the connection between hearts in order to let his childhood or his past story play out as it was meant to.
    The reason for that would be an even greater force or evil that would give Sora no other choice than to seal himself and others in a perpetual time loop in which different outcomes can occur.
    For example: Will Sora be able to defeat Ansem Seeker of Darkness in KH1? Will Sora really find his way back to his memories in Chain of Memories? Will Sora and Riku be able to defeat Xemnas and return back to the Realm of Light? Will Riku complete his Mark of Mastery and save Sora? And lastly, will Sora be able to overcome Xehanort in the final battle in Scala ad Caelum?
    These are, in my eyes, tests for his younger self to become the man he is as a Master of Masters. And even as the Master of Masters there is yet another Trial we know nothing about. What is he doing in this big city? And could this city just be a world that would later become "The World that never was" ?
    Your theory on the bequeathment ceremony of the X-blade or No Name is what brought this up. So in a distant future there is a choice for Sora to make:
    1.) Will Sora be consumed by darkness or his despair, summon No Name and become the Master of Masters and so beget the "Bad Ending" in above mentioned time loop.
    2.) Will Sora remind himself of the light he's chasing all this time to save Kairi and stay true to himself a.k.a "Let your heart be your guiding key" and summon the X-Blade, the counterpart to Kindgom Hearts, and let the primordial light of fairytales help him achieve his goal and lastly return back to his friends and restore all worlds, thus ending the endless struggle between light and darkness.

    This is by far one of the most compelling KH theories I have come across in a while. Having to fight dark versions of Sora over the course of the different games has always been unsettling to me. Watching this definitely reminded me of the 'uneasy' feeling I felt playing ReMind and Melody of Memory when Sora took Kairi's place at the end. I brushed those feelings off, couldn't put words to why I felt so unsettled and this video explains why I felt that way.
    Bravo to this. What a hugely missed opportunity if the future games aren't headed in this direction.

    Two main points:
    1. Kairi is Square's "Disney Princess" which makes Sora her prince. They're set up to be paragons of virtue, so they would never become villains, though they might struggle with darkness at times.
    2. Just as Xehanort wasn't actually there fighting Kairi, Sora wasn't either. It was Kairi's memory of Xehanort and Sora that showed up. Since Kairi feels she can never beat Xehanort, who is both a source of childhood and recent abuse, her memory of Xehanort is too strong for her to face, but her memory of Sora is strong enough to fight to save her. Memory Xehanort himself says it isn't really him, and all the information Kairi gets in Melody of Memories is just repressed information she already knew. So Sora's possession is more of a possessra than a possessza, not yet capable of possessing across realities.
    I think we might see something more along the lines of a Ventus/Vanitas like split with Sora if anything, where the hurt becomes too much for him to face without his friends and he splits his heart in two, the light remaining Sora, and the Darkness becoming the Master of Masters, determined to return no matter the cost. Then the whole past, creating the Gazing eye and the book of prophecies, etc. When Dark-Sora "Reunites" with the guardians, that gives Light-Sora a path home.

When Yozora said “this isn’t what I really look like”. He could be implying that he himself was split into two separate entities. Enter Noctis who is the embodiment of Yozora’s darkness. I like your theory, but I think it applies more so to Yozora instead of Sora.

Everyone says what kind of person Sora is and yet we see, like in the case of this video and throughout KH3/ReMind/Melody of Memory that Sora has grown beyond that notion of who he is. I forgot about Xehanort performing the bequeathing ceremony on Sora at the end of Kingdom Hearts 3. Since the keyblade was passed down from MoM to Luxu in Union Cross, then Luxu to Xehanort, then Xehanort to Sora, it would make absolute sense if Sora eventually becomes aware he can summon No Name, then uses his new time travel ability to pass it down to Luxu and again, the cycle goes. I did hear a sort of "Mini-theory" from Bio-Roxas in one of his form breakdown videos, I think it was the one for Rage Form. Anyway. It revolves around Anti Form vs Rage Form.
    If you look at how Anti Form and Rage Form work... For those unfamiliar, in KH2, there is a secret system known as the "Anti point" system. Basically, every time you use a drive form, the counter increases. Except for Final Form, which actually decreases the counter. The system is actually really complicated, so I'd recommend watching Bio-Roxas' breakdown video for Anti Form.
    Anyway, as the counter increases, your chances for getting Anti Form the next time you use a drive form increases.
    Then look at Rage Form. The situation command for Rage Form will only appear when Sora is at or below 25% health, which is when you hear the low health siren.
    So, from that, you could say that Anti Form is Sora's punishment for wanting too much power, while Rage Form is Sora using the darkness as a last resort to stay alive.

    • @guidingkeyblade7834
      @guidingkeyblade7834 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Something I just realized. Looking at this, this also explains why Sora has a keyblade in Rage Form, but not Anti Form. It's because while in Anti Form, the keyblade leaves him due to the darkness and his lust for power, whereas in Rage Form, Sora is trying to protect himself. He's using the darkness because he has to. That's why he still has a keyblade in Rage Form, but not Anti Form.

    Now, let me make one thing clear, these are only two incompletes I see in your theory however, the theory as a whole, I think is actually fairly solid. Sora COULD become a Vilnian in the true "endgame"
    Now, let me fire a different theory your way, one that I think is actually poetically-terrifying. How could Sora become a villain? First, what do we know about Sora?
    He wants to save EVERYONE that is his very being, he believes everyone deserves to be rescued, in fact, I think in the end, he was even satisfied that it seemed like Xhenort was "freed"
    This is the very thing that makes Sora, Sora, it leads into his connections with people, his drive, and yes even his desperation. It is his biggest strength. But, as often is the case, Strength and Weakness are two sides of the same coin. This, like your theory goes with the idea that Sora is in fact the Master of Masters.
    Sora's way at looking at things is infectious, most of his friends want to be like him, they wish they had his strength, especially Riku. Now, imagine this scenario:
    With the Finale of Union Cross now behind us, we now have more info including the fact that he apparently raised his "apprentices" to trap the seven true Darkness's but why did he do this?
    Because, originally there were no fortellers and therefore the only way to do this was for the original 7 lights to be the sacrifices.
    BUT wait! Sora was one of the original 7 wasn't he? Honestly, it would not surprise me if one of his friends were to plot to take his place, perhaps Namine. With that done Sora has no choice but do defeat his friends in order to stop the true evil. This push drives Sora past the brink going past mad and actually becoming "sane" collected, and sneaky. This time however he is now a sociopath. His only concern, saving his friends, and yet, there's still a nagging because he does also say that he has a plan to "save them" One might think that refers to the plan of the lifeboats back in the time of fairytailes. But what if that's not the plan he was referring to? That leads me to remind you of an old rule of time
    Not all events can be avoided especially if the better good is at stake.
    The endgame has begun, the final battle and the final Keyblade War: The Masters plan supposedly is to trap the Real Darkness's in the Foretellers even if Master Sora would truly allow that, the Sora we know WOULD NOT. The deed is about to be done and the Foretellers have given into their fates, but the Guardians refuse and once again are willing to become Martyrs, at this point however Sora has already lost too much and will not allow it, thinking that his light is strong enough he alone absorbs the 13 true Darkness's saving his friends and the foretellers but, we are talking about PURE DARKNESS here, and as a full cycle Master Sora realizes all he has done is traded one madness for another at this point one of two things happens.
    1. Master Sora joins us but we still have to fight and possibly destroy the Sora we grew up with
    2. The loss of his young self, the idea that nothing he could do would truly make everything okay, drives him down to the True Darkness and in a final clash we have to fight both Sora's.

    Rather than literally being the MoM I think they parallel each other in interesting ways. Sora seems to be an abnormality compared to everyone else specifically because of how powerful he is. It's glossed over a lot but it truly is strange that Sora has a keyblade at all when it's repeatedly mentioned that he doesn't have the aptitude for it (even post Ventus restoration).
    I think the truly horrifying part of him going evil is that every instance of power we know directly comes from Sora seems to be an endless darkness. While his (friends) are his light, Sora’s potential from the very first game seems to be distinctly themed towards darkness.
    And if I want to enter crackpot theory range if anything it seems like the key blades keep him in check more than anything. As an aside in KH1 we don't see Sora’s strength represented as anything “good”. The sword, staff, and shield have fairly ominous descriptions for the player--especially the sword which is arguably what he canonically chose. Almost every clue points to his strength being great and terrible.
