I should have linked this cutscene in the video, so sorry I didn't think to! In KH3, Lea confirms that they became Nobodies soon after Subject X went missing

We also see Ienzo's child model in DDD's prologue, rather than his adult model. I also suggest looking at the timeline in the description because that further combs through the timeline of the Organization members between BbS and KH1.
_I thought Xehanort put his normal heart inside Terra's body?_
The Ultimania states it is in fact Birth by Sleep Terra-Xehanort at 10:04 (link also in description) and this is supported by Xehanort in Re:Mind's prologue saying "the very same heart that *previously* resided within young Terra."
Isn't there an inconsistency with that idea because of Marluxia, Larxene, and possibly Ventus, considering they have only aged a bit after Union X and they still look young by the events of KH3? If they do age, how are Marluxia and Larxene still around?
@@yuuhyakuya3863 they don’t have hearts. Which explains why they never wield a keyblade, plus the fact they have no memories of having one. I think they subconsciously forced their selves to prevent growing a heart.
@@yuuhyakuya3863 Lauriam, Elrena and Ventus are implied to time travel to BbS's time like Subject X (not confirmed to be Skuld, but *probably* her). Ventus was _around_ 12 years old during KHUX. With Ventus time traveling to 4 years before BbS (keep reading for the math), and Subject X time traveling to POST BbS, we can assume Lauriam and Elrena also jumped to _around_ BbS but also likely at various times as well. This is may be caused by Ark being broken from Lauriam and Maleficent's off screen fight (but thats not confirmed yet). But if Ventus WERE to age 12+ years between the time of post BbS and KH3, he would probably be Marluxia and Larxene's age. Marluxia and Larxene are probably 12 years older than they were in UX, so I don't see how there's an inconsistency? They don't SEEM to have been Nobodies until years after everyone else, since Xigbar didn't recruit Lauriam until Zexion was already an adult (KH2FM flashback).
(the math is: Ventus joined hearts with Sora when Sora was "a brand new heart"--so a newborn assumedly, Sora was 14 in KH1, BbS takes place 10 years before KH1, leaving 4 years Ventus spent at Land of Departure, so 16-4 = 12, maybe 11 if Ventus is 15 in BbS, we don't know)
@@KraZKris2000 They do have hearts. Thanks to Roxas and Xion not starting off with hearts in the beginning of days, we know Nobodies that don't have hearts start off zombie like, where they don't talk a lot, have short term memory loss, etc. Marluxia and Larxene are fully aware of their surroundings, they have emotions, etc etc. I'm highly confident they do have hearts, and the reason they don't have memories is likely due to the same reason Ventus and Subject X have no memories of KHUX either.

They do have hearts. Xemnas explains nobodies actually do not have hearts, however, they can grow one eventually if they manage to connect with enough people and start forming real bonds. So if they haven't grown a heart yet, they won't age. If they do, they will age.

I think there may be a simpler explanation here. I think Xehanort was only unable to cast out Terra's heart because Eraqus was protecting him. I think after Luxu possessed Braig, Braig's heart was cast out, no longer existing in that body and allowing Luxu to fully merge with Braig's body. Thus, when he was recompleted, it happened as if he was just a normal person, like the rest of the organization.

i always figured that luxu took the body and completely took over braig/the vessels heart the only reason xehanort couldnt fully control terra without any side effects (hair changing losing memories lingering will being created) is just because he has a strong heart and because of eraqus putting a piece of himself in terra. luxu is most likely just really good at possesing people

You're onto something, because if we combine Mel's Theory 1 & 2 with your 4 then we've got a few ideas on the whereabouts of the _real_ Braig.
Since we know Luxu can dispel and insert hearts without a keyblade, it's safe to assume he could lock his own heart, right?
Basically kicking Braig out of his own body indefinitely, minus the memory loss in Terranort's case.
Young Braig would be forced into a heartless form (just like Terra) but would remain like that to this very day due to Braig-Luxu never being recompleted. Luxu also knows that keeping Braig's heartless around would cause problems. Guardian is the perfect example of this.

I always just assumed that Dilan looked different that Xaldin was because it was the same with Axel's eye marks. In my mind, some changes made to the body that happen to a Nobody will vanish and the person is restored as best as they are to their original look when they lost their heart in the first place. That's why Lea doesn't have the marks, he made them after he became Axel.
Same with Dilan and his hairstyle, and Braig with his hair going back to it's normal color. The only thing that changes is the age, because that's still a natural thing to happen to the body. (Can't speak for lesser nobodies though)
You know one could argue that when a Nobody is born, the body goes through slight visible changes, this was said in one of the Ansem Reports as well I believe. Think like a side effect from losing their heart and being reborn as a Nobody. This is seen in some of their skin tone and eye colors, cause there is a slight color change in them.
Personally, I thought Ventus didn't age was because the Chamber of Waking prevented him to, like a suspended animation or cryogenic sleep. Or perhaps time is different in Castle Oblivion, due to a world's time axis or the castle's magic. Personally I go with the suspended animation theory.
As for Braig and Luxu not being 'separated', I just assumed it was because unlike Terra, Braig was completely engulfed by Luxu's heart, erasing the personality or at least putting it into a permanent state of stupor, which in turn allowed him complete control of the body. For Xehanort however, Terra was to resistant due to his strong will and heart, aided by Eraqus' Heart to resist him. This is why he created his guardian, to better contain Terra's heart as it was wrestling control from him. Hence, why Xehanort seemed to 'push' the guardian from his body. He was expelling Terra while still keeping a leash on him.
Also, I think of Terra-Xehanorts Nobody and Heartless as this.
Xemnas: Terra's body but with Xehanorts soul/mind.
Ansem: Xehanorts heart but with Terra's heart trapped deep within.
The Braig/Luxu thing makes sense
With Terra-Nort we repeatedly see Terra's heart rebel against Xehanort's.
But with Braig, we never see any internal struggle. The original heart truly was fully consumed by Luxu's. Without prior knowledge, it'd be impossible to tell Xigbar/Braig was a person possessed by another.
I believe it’s been confirmed that time doesn’t flow the same in different worlds, maybe time moves very slowly in the Land of Departure so that’s why Ven doesn’t age

The trouble I have with the idea that the body will reverse unnatural changes once recompleted is the fact that, plausibly, scars remain. Do they count as natural occurrences? I suppose we don't know for sure when Saix got his scars, but that's always given me trouble trying to logic those changes out

In Birth By Sleep, Xehanort claimed that Terra's heart would be engulfed by his forever. I interpret this as how what little of a heart Axel grew remerged with Lea's heart.
Evidently, with Terra and Xehanort's bodies completing separately, I think Xehanort was wrong.
Xigbar, on the other hand, is a different story.

About Nobodies and aging, I personally figure that it's an "Immortality Begins at 20" deal. The reason Lea, Isa, and Ienzo all aged is because they got all Nobody-fied when they were kids. After all, Dilan and Braig/Luxu aren't the only ones who looks identical to before they became a Nobody - Aeleus and Even look the same, too.
Its just a plothole. Braig has yellow eyes in the secret ending of ReCoded. That's only possible if he was recompleted as a human and Xehanort bothered to posses him for like 30 seconds before turning him back into a nobody and possesing him again. Nothing about this makes sense. If your second theory is correct and Braig time traveled to the future (meaning he was a seperate entity from the already recompleted Braig) then...where is the recompleted Braig. What was the point of YX bringing him to the future if he doesn't do anything? They just had that Braig model lying around.
Also, another fun little plothole hidden here, in DDD's opening, Braig seems to imply that labcoat Xehanort never lost his memory in the first place. That means he knows he has already possesed Braig. So...uh... why does he turn him into a nobody? The "plan" was to split his heart and posses 13 vessels...Xigbar was already down with the plan...and he knew. Why bother turning him into a nobody in the first place. He was already possesed
How about this theory: when Luxu is turned into a Nobody, it’s *Braig’s* heart that gets yeeted out of the body, while Luxu’s stays. So he’s half-Nobody.

The red scarf makes me think there’s a connection between Luxu and Ephemer somewhere in the future. Perhaps he passes on the key blade to ephemer to possess him somewhere down the line? Dark inferno (which seems to also have a connection to ephemer) has split keys as a weapons which could also mean sometime of duality for Ephemer. But that’s just my two cents heh
This was a good theory video. I'm sure they overlooked Dilan's age due to his overall lack of importance. But the Terra one always left me confused why he deaged when he aged as Apprentice Xehanort and Xemnas. Master Xehanort makes sense why he didn't age since his body was destroyed until his recompletion but Terra's was head scratching.
I agree it is strange. I think in a meta sense it was Nomura's way of somehow making the BbS trio all remain the same age as they were in BbS, instead of one having be awkwardly older than the other three due to like 12 years passing haha. But still I would like further explanation on why Terra is still young.

By watching the whole video I was asking to myself what you were referring to by saying "younger/older" Braig/Xigbar, but I guess you're considering that his hair white-stripes are a proof that he's older and started to gain white-gray hair like an old man?
If that's the main issue, there is a simple possible plot : the changes in his hair might not be related to his age, but to his state. There are sometimes small changes between a person and their Nobody. (Axel's marks, Xaldin's haircut and strange ears shape, Xemnas being so huge...) Xigbar's white-stripes hair could be one of them, it would explain why Braig lost them when he's been recompleted, and why he gained them again by turning into a Nobody a second time.
Supposedly, before knowing that xigbar was braig and luxu, we learnt that xigbar was "already half-xehanort", that means he had xehanorts heart, if he was telling the truth in DDD, then we need to take xehanort into account for his timeline, so it's even more complicated than Terra-Xehanort since he would be Braig-Luxu-Xehanort

A very informative and interesting video as always! I really enjoy the simple, yet incredibly effective diagrams as well as the adorable designs to explain certain aspects (such as the S.S. Nort XD).
I would agree that I had initially thought the Braig model in 2.5's Coded was just a minor inconsistency (at least with the hair) as DDD and Coded do seem to imply that when a person is recompleted, they wear the same outfits they wore before the separation (which does leave questions for Lea and Isa, but that's a story for another day). So his hair would be the only major detail. However, these theories have definitely sparked my interest.
However, I wanted to ask something regarding your second theory, if I may. Why would this theory imply that Luxu only possessed Braig after his fight with Terra? Wouldn't the theory still fit if Luxu had Braig's body for the entirety of BBS, regardless of the scar and eyepatch?
My thought process was that since Apprentice Xehanort ages perhaps about a year before splitting into Ansem and Xemnas (I'm guessing, look at the timeline in the description for my reasoning LOL), and the restored Terra in KH3 doesn't look even a *year* older (like say, his brown hair isn't Apprentice Xehanort's length), I THINK when possessed bodies are restored they're reset to BEFORE they were possessed.
So let's say Braig was possessed *before* his first appearance in Birth by Sleep when he tells Terra he's holding Master Xehanort captive. Since he got his scars *from* his fight with Terra, that means when Braig is restored again, his body will have reset to BEFORE his fight with Terra and BEFORE he got those scars.
However, IF Braig was possessed *later* in BbS when he meets Aqua and Ventus (his eyes are yellow by this point), than the scar and eyepatch make sense, since Braig already those before he was possessed.
Let me know if I'm still not being clear enough, this is such a complex topic it's hard to be distinct! I cannot say for sure at which point Braig was possessed, so it'll be interesting to see if we ever get a confirmed point in time!

I would think that Braig was always possessed in BBS (at least when he was on-screen) as from Luxu describes in KH3's Secret Report 13, he would play the fool desiring the Keyblade's power, which is exactly what Braig describes before his battle with Terra; "How could I not want one?"
I haven't given this theory much thought, but now I'm wondering if this situation may perhaps have a similar situation to Sora/Roxas/Ventus. It seems to have been implied that when Sora turned into a Heartless, Ventus' heart remained with his body and thus, having Roxas look like him (though only in hair as, if I recall correctly, Roxas' face model is the exact same as Sora's).
So, what if in the DDD prologue, Xehanort released Braig's heart, leaving Luxu's to stay with his body and thus, Xigbar (perhaps even changing his hairstyle to what Luxu's is?) So that when Braig was recompleted, it was just like Sora at the start in KH2; unaffected from Roxas'/Ventus' appearance.

I think this is also a possibility since Luxu has experience with inserting/expelling his heart, so he may very well also know how to "avoid" No Names power by letting Braig's heart take the heat instead of his own. I think it's still possible Braig was simply the first to wake up--or perhaps, that Xehanort arrived and woke him up first. Remember that Xehanort's method of time travel follows his own timeline, so for this scene he likely would've used Braig (already housing a piece of Xehanort's heart) as the anchor for his arrival. So I'm not sure that Xehanort could've taken BbS Braig with him to that period where a version of himself is briefly missing. Xehanort doesn't recomplete until the end of DDD, so Braig is the only seed currently available at that time, unless we assume Saïx was also seeded during his first time as a Nobody (amber eyes).
I remember back when 2.5 first came out, believing that Young Xehanort and Braig were conspiring together to thwart Master Xehanort. Rewatching that scene, it's dawned on me that I was 100% correct. They were there to take Isa and Even as members of the True Organization. Members who would ultimately end up betraying Xehanort.
So the question becomes, why was Braig there, helping him pick up would-be traitors? Is the "plan" he mentions Master Xehanort's plan, or Young Xehanort's?

I’m wondering what Braig was doing during the events of both 3d and KH3. If we go with the thought of him, Young Xehanort, and Xigbar working together outside of Organization 13’s goals, then that would tell what Luxu’s goals are.

THE QUEEN HAS RETURNEDDDDD
I think one of the main problems with these theories is the place and time of the re: coded secret ending. Just because it's after re:coded doesn't mean it's happening after the events of the game. Just like the kh2 secret ending which placed us 10 years prior to the kh1 events. We need to understand where exactly does this part of the story fits according to the bits and pieces of information. That would explain why we're seeing braig and not old dude xigbar in some capacity.
My personal theory is the master of masters possessed luxu and stole his identity. Luxu is revealed to be xigbar/braig so it would explain their similar personality quirks. We know that Braig loses his eye fighting Terra, but there are still multiple moments highlighting his one eye. It feels like an allusion to the MoM's eye in no name, but I have no "real" proof

I do have a theory about Dillan/Xaldin. His Nobody is the only one that acts differently then his Somebody without a very good reason. Some act differently because of a lost of memories but that isn't what happened to Dillan. Isa and Ienzo act differently because they grew up and have motivations to act differently. Dillan just acts the most villain like of any of the Nobodies for no reason that I can see and then changes again when he becomes himself again. Well maybe it is a bit hard to tell how he is acting when he doesn't talk. Anyway what I think is happening is that Dillan was taken over by a Darkness when he was a Nobody and thus was never able to grow a new heart. I am not sure if he is still possessed by a Darkness who isn't talking because the Darkness doesn't know how to act like a real person or if he was freed when recompleted but the experience made it difficult for him to speak. Or maybe they just don't have a VA for him. I am not sure if that would affect how the character looks though. However he wouldn't be the only character that changed how he looks from Nobody to Somebody after all Lea loses his cheek marks. Dillan's not seeming to age might just be that he is act the age that where you don't change much for a long time until you start looking older.
I am not sure that I am willing to decide one way or the other which of these three theories about Luxu I agree with if any of them. Though I think theory 2 makes the most sense to me. Though some version of theory 3 might also be a lot of fun.
I do want to know why you think that Luxu was always inside Braig in BBS. It seems most likely to me that the yellow eyes where given to Braig when Luxu chose to possess him. After all the foretellers all have yellow eyes, even though in chi when a person choses there Union the symbols of the foretellers all have there eyes a different colors. Only Ira is different on both counts in Chi his eyes are already yellow and later they change to red. I am not really convinced that we know what yellow eyes really mean but it does seem like Luxu should have them since the other foretellers do. Which means that Braig should not be possessed until the point he has yellow eyes. I could be wrong of course, the only way we will ever know for sure is if we see Luxu possess Braig at some point. I wonder who will show us something like that, either Luxu or Kairi would be my guess though it is hard to tell how much Kairi could have seen at such a young age.

I honestly think Nomura had some idea that No Name and Xigbar/Braig would be connected since BBS. Nomura got really serious with cinematic cues around that time, and the first time we see No Name in game (not in the secret movie), is when it's used to threaten Braig, they do this angle that shows the Keyblade aimed Braig and the camera holds on that for a good bit of time. The scene definitely has some heavy vibes in retrospect.

Second of all, I think Braig's body was empty on return as the original Braig's heart seems to be completely gone, so Luxu hopped back in before anyone else woke up, since he is used jumping bodies he might have recovered quicker?

First of all, LOVE what you're doing. I haven't been this excited about Kingdom Hearts theories since the pre-BbS era and your style is well put together and entertaining.
As for Luxu/Xigbar, what I'm wondering, from a meta-perspective as you put it, is whether or not pre-Luxu Braig is going to be relevant at all? Connecting Terranort's case to this is a good call mechanically but I'm not sure about it narratively? A lot of this might be complicated or simplified if Luxu got rid of Braig's heart at some point or upon possession or it got sent off to the Final World or who knows what. Maybe it's also the hurdle of Terranort, Ansem and Xemnas all seeming so distinct while Braig/Xigbar/Luxu just is one character to me. Seems like there's room for any number of wrenches in it all with Luxu's keybladeless control over his heart and how that might break the rules as we understand them.
Either way, I'm eager to get more Luxu. I had always hoped Xigbar would outlast Xehanort and stick around for the future and wow did I get my wish. Also looking forward to your future reports.

Spoiler Alert --------- > There is one thing that is clear about Braig/Xigbar/Luxu is the connection they have with the No Name Keyblade especially the bond with the sign of the Goat and the physical changes that come with it (Ears, Grey hair and Yellow eyes). The "darkness" survives because of their gift of hiding.
Is there a way to hide your heart in a Keyblade in order to survive and hide in it? I truly believe that the darkness we have defeated in KH3 is the goat (the sin of lust) hidden in the Keyblade No Name and that may have influenced Luxu's decisions in the long term and if you look closely at the end of Kingdom Hearts III Xigbar/Braig/Luxu keeps the yellow eyes distinct from the connection with darkness. It is the expression of darkness personified by the sin itself. The true darkness personified by sin and the No Name Keyblade.
Remember character Files - > "Suppose the black goat sends the white goat to find a letter that he hid of his own volition; with what purpose has he done so?" This could refer to Luxu and Xehanort. One had pure will and the other was completely dark.
The darkness was finally able to reach Luxu after all that time after the Xehanort's defeat because Luxu is the only one who knows exactly the contents of the box and how to make it appear. In my opinion the darkness is trying to regroup.
It will not surprise me to see a confrontation between the prophets and Luxu possessed by Darkness (goat) to reach the group of prophets with what is inside the box.
This video got me really hooked. Especially the theory of Luxu and Xehanort conspiring in some way, which would make sense, because since Re:Mind, we know that both of them are connected through the Master of Masters. Now here it starts to get interesting. Is this conspiracy all the Master's plan, or does Luxu actually pull the strings here. Since the end of KH3, Luxu saw his role fulfilled, that the Master of Masters bestowed upon him. So there is a high possibility that Luxu is trying to draw some sort of advantage from that freedom, now that he is free of his obligations, but that remains to be seen.

I always wondering why the prologue of DDD was the way it was, but when you look at the recoded secret ending it started to make more sense.
I have just a random theory/idea that’s really out there and there’s not much evidence to back it up, but what if somehow in order to keep Scala Ad Caelum growing into the civilization we see in kh3, somehow Luxu defeated Ephemer and took over his body (whether voluntarily or not) but trapped his heart in the same body as Luxu’s (this would explain the scarf he had in bbs and how tattered it looked as a sign of this and how it looks just like Ephemer’s) and continued to transfer Ephemer’s heart with him everytime Luxu possessed a person.
But due to the involuntary stabbing of Luxu-braig with a Keyblade in the DDD cutscene, he was separated into a nobody (still Luxu possessing Braig, since I think Luxu has managed to gain full control of Braig and expel his heart out, or at least put it in a dormant state) and two heartless, and the ONLY one we’ve encountered so far is Ephemer’s strong heart that was separated from Luxu-braig’s body, that turned out to be the one we encountered at the keyblade graveyard during Sora’s revival as he enters Ventus’ heart.
Because the boss we encounter doesn’t seem to side with Xehanort, rather want to protect Ventus. His design is eerily similar to Ephemer due to the scarf theme again, and that heartless probably duel wields due to the fact he was a weilder, and connected to a weilder too (Luxu).
After being defeated, we momentarily see Ephemer help Sora in what we believe to be a spirit form or flashback. I think at this point he’s freed…but what if that was actually him, and he was re-completed? In a last sacrifice to keep light alive, he summoned the spirits of all the fallen weilders to help Sora, and in doing so faded from existence or merely became a fleeting spirit along with his fallen comrades.
As for Luxu-Braig’s actual heartless, I’m not so sure how that would play out, or where he is, so that’s the only missing piece I guess, but that’s all that’s been running through my mind this whole time.
I’ve seen a lot of kh videos but yours are soo good, sounds graphics and how you make theories and give evidence of what you say. Icons everything, just don’t stop, I think you deserve more visibility and subscribers🖤

There is one huge fact missing in this video and it could also explain since when Xigbar is not Xigbar anymore but Lucu (is he written like that ?)
Lucu said in one sentence that he and i quote "always keeps an eye" on the No Name Keyblade and that he wanted to take it back from Xehanort when the time has come. So keeping that in mind we go further back into the past.
Further into the past:
" Who trained Xehanorth in the first place ?"
Only a Master can train new Masters and the No Name wasnt wielded by anyone at the time Xehanort was young and still in training. Keeping in mind all that happened so far Lucu didnt find anyone worthy wielding No Name so its possible he trained someone worth himself. He also said that everything went according to his plans so everything Xehanort did was wanted by Lucu. So its save to assume that Lucu is Xehanorts Master and he corrupted him and his view of the world. I mean its kinda odd that Xehanort and Eraques both have the same Master but are teached differently dont you think ? Its also kinda odd that said Master still teaches Xehanort even tho he should have been able to sense the darkness inside his heart dont you think ?
Lucu made Xehanort into what he is as his Master and he watched him as a "supordinate" in the organisation and made sure everything plays out as he intended. Xigbar was already Lucu in BBS because he had to make sure Terra becomes a new Vessel......and he did make sure that this happens. So every time we see Xigbar he is Lucu because as Lucu said he will "always keeps an eye" on his Keyblade.
It all fits perfectly into each other.
The reason Braig would still have the scar if Luxu possessed him before then is because while the age might reset any physical damage might not. I'd assume if Terranort had a drastic injury before becoming a heartless/nobody that it would carry over to Terra upon recompletion.

Looking at the Re:Coded cutscene again, a new revelation has come to me. Young Xenahort's cut-off S-, I and others had assumed it be Saix, but now I realise there's another candidate: 'Subject X'.

A few thoughts on the wake-up order post-reformation.
It could have to do with the ability to use a keyblade. First Braig as Luxu is the "oldest" keyblade welder and in some ways the most powerful. Then Xehanort, as the second oldest and second most powerful of the people in the room. Then it would be Lea as he is close to being able to wield the keyblade. The others after could just be by the severity of their "deaths" but that's kinda up in the air and less important for the narrative.
Another idea is how they faded. I do think Xehanort would be able to pull himself together rather quickly with the sheer amount of power he wields. Braig/Luxu might be pulling the same thing but he has faked fading before in the series so it's not outside the realm of the possibility that he did the same in kh2 to trick Sora and Xehanort. Maybe he never stopped being a nobody? Then Lea who is the only one there who faded by his own hand. Maybe this didn't hurt him as permanently as the others that were legitimately struck down. Again Xehanort is the exception but he does contain a keyblade master's heart and Terra's so I think he could recover a bit faster. Plus all the other odd reasons addressed in the video. That dude is wack.

A theory that I believe is that Luxu possessed Braig sometime after his fight with Terra. I believe the version of Braig that approached Aqua/Ven in the Keyblade Graveyard with yellow eyes was Luxu. I don't know how Luxu did it, but the Braig with yellow eyes seems suspiciously more wry and "matter-of-fact". The Braig that fought Terra was rash, one dimensional and asked far more questions than Xigbar ever did. At the Keyblade Graveyard, he looks at Ventus with such confirmation and recognition. "Black Powder" is what plays during his fight with Terra, but with Aqua? "Another Side" plays instead. A monumental boss theme. It wasn't a version of 13th Dilemma or Black Powder again, but Another Side. A theme fitting for Luxu's circumstances. Another Side begins with Org13's theme, or rather, Xigbar's theme in DDD. Nomura often says things in interviews that contradict or are only half-truths, such as Ventus' heart being inside of Roxas which was never true. If Nomura has said "Braig was Luxu since the beginning", he could mean since the events of BBS, not necessarily before BBS happened.
We know that Luxu has the unique ability to take vessels without a Keyblade unlike Xehanort. The difference between them being their origins in Light and Darkness; Xehanort's technique of taking a vessel may be a dark art, something that sacrifices one's self for immediate results, but what if Luxu's technique is a light art bestowed upon him by MoM? I say this because I can only think of one other character who can hide within another character: Eraqus. After Eraqus died, he sought refuge within Terra but we've never seen a heartless/nobody of Eraqus despite everything Terra has been through. Do you think Luxu's ability is similar to Eraqus', where he can only switch vessels after his current one has died? This could explain why Luxu was never in any real danger despite Xigbar being defeated, recompleted etc. Because Braig/Xigbar never definitively "died". The only caveat is Eraqus never took over Terra, but Luxu seems to be the one calling the shots in the vessel.

Ugh amazing as usual Mel!! Might have to watch this one a couple times to fully grasp it but i definitely agree that something fishy is going on that we don't know about in the Re: Coded scene. I too rewatched it a couple weeks ago and knew something more is happening there now that we know Xigbar is Luxu. and it makes total sense that Braig and Luxu would be recompleted in a similar fashion to TEera and Xehanort; That was something i hadn't considered and I'm SURE will come into play.

Quick point about 14:20; I was playing DDD just a few days ago (broken foot, gotta stay home so I'm gaming all day), and I noticed the juxtaposition too. I'm sure there is a trope name, but the camera returning to a familiar scene and leaving it to the audience to catch the "wait, where is Braig?" moment is something employed in film and TV, so I don't see why it wouldn't be the case here.
What I would like to know is what happened to Braig’s heartless in the first place? From what I understand a person with a strong heart will develop a more powerful heartless (like Ansem did in KH1), even without a body couldn’t Braig go back to the point before DDD and become whole again? We know that hearts can travel through time as we see the cloaked Ansem throughout the series. Who’s the say that Braig can’t do the same? Or better yet, could Braig himself be a Heartless?
From what I understand, Sora was able to regain his form from being a Heartless thanks to Kairi, and Ansem SoD was able to regain his from due to Riku, so it'll be interesting to see if Braig was able to do the same but without relying on someone to do so!
This was a really great video! I'll be real I never noticed Xigbar's model discrepancies until now, but looking at them now has me thinking back on the scenes in question. Part of me wonders if like if say Braig woke up free of Luxu's influence, walked out the door, where Luxu's heart then time traveled to possess Braig outside of the computer room in say, Ansem's office or something. But that feels too mundane an explanation for Kingdom Hearts (though as every prediction with this series I love eating my words). I feel there's definitely more to Luxu and during his middle years (BBS to KH3) behind the scenes than meets the eye and I hope for your analysis and thoughts on him in the future especially as the series sees more releases!

Great video as always. The section about nobodies aging made me curious about something, I wonder about your opinion. Namine visibly ages between Re:Chain and KH2, do you think she grew a heart during that time? Now that I think back she obviously has one by the end of KH3, but it does seem a bit odd that the "burgeoning replacement" took a decade to manifest for most of the organization members, but ostensibly happened instantly for her. And Roxas, for that matter, though I would venture that the relationship between the Days trio expedited theirs, while Namine wouldn't really have an equivalent to that experience that I can think of.
Do we have any examples of nobodies that *didn't* age (as nobodies)? I think currently I'm of the opinion that nobodies age regardless of a heart, and Ventus/Kairi's heartless "stasis" is a distinct enough phenomenon to have different rules. But maybe I'm overlooking something. Would love to hear your thoughts about this, and also any ideas about the seemingly different rates at which hearts regrew
While I could very well be in the wrong here, I think Nobodies that haven't grown their hearts yet are very zombie-ish. Like take Roxas in the beginning of Days for example, or Ventus when he met Terra and Aqua after his heart was recently shattered. It seems like when characters start making eye contact, talking to one another, acknowledging their surroundings, just in general being more aware and less zombie-like, that's when they've regrown a heart. So yeah I absolutely think Namine grew a heart! I would say she had one at least by the time CoM started since she's already talking to the Larxene, Marluxia, and the other members of the Organization.

So I think that's WHY Ventus never grew another heart, he was stuck alone in the chamber of waking for all that time. And for Kairi, I think her body flinching when Sora reached out to it in Neverland is a hint that it WAS regrowing another heart (because Riku, Wendy, and Sora were interacting with her) but Kairi's heart returned to it before that could completely happen. However, these are not confirmed, just what I personally think comparing all these different empty bodies and Nobodies. Eventually I'd love to make a video about this subject, so I'm glad you asked!!

The question we really should be asking , is if xigbar located candidates for organisation xiii ... Where the hell did he find the folk from quadratum ?
1. He already knew of the existence of quadratum
2. No one could find the box. Was it in unreality ? Does this explain where the original masters went ?
3. How did he get there and back? Implies he was near death or just a heart with no real body.
He doesn't make sense.
I feel that maybe the character luxu was an experiment before MoM made the dreameaters which might answer his strange ability.
