For those watching in 2021, the following things have changed: Wladimir Balentien left the Swallows and joined the Hawks Yoshitomo Tsutsugo left the BayStars and joined the Tampa Bay Rays Alex Ramirez stepped down as BayStars manager after the 2020 season Masahiro Tanaka left the Yankees and is now back with the Eagles Mike Bolsinger is no longer playing Shogo Akiyama left the Lions and joined the Cincinnati Reds Hideto Asamura left the Lions and joined the Eagles
We lost to these guys this morning. They played flawlessly. I mean not a single mistake was made by Japan. It was cool to watch. Even if i was rooting for my team... They even brought a guy out of retirement who was working on wall street and he started striking out our players still in the MLB.
CORRECTION: 6:47 Hiroshima has been to the Japan Series two of the last three years not all three. If you have any questions about NPB, I’ll be glad to answer.
I'd consider the Hanshin Tigers the Cubs of the NPB. Koshien is widely regarded as the Wrigley Field of Japan (the oldest stadium in the NPB), the team is more than a century old, curses, etc.
Thank you for this video! I'm just getting into NPB after working with stuff related to MLB for a while. Quite a difference, can't wait to see a game hopefully soon.
Thanks for putting together such an informative video - very useful for me as someone new to NPB! I've opted to root for the Hanshin Tigers... as a Phillies fan, I'm worried that I'm a glutton for disappointment :P
I'm barely starting to get into Japanese baseball I'm pulling for the Giants (and the friendship they had with my Dodgers) cause of Sadaharu Oh ps you forgot perhaps the first great Japanese to make it to MLB Hideo Nomo who played with the Buffaloes
Some teams uniform Comparisons today are obvious but their most similar as in play and team/fanbase feel teams are different from how they look. But how they look to me: Yomiuri Giants = Look like San Francisco Giants Hanshin Tigers= Look like a Mix of New York Yankees/Chicago White Sox and Pittsburgh Pirates Chiunichi Dragons = Look like Los Angeles Dodgers Hiroshima Carp= Look like Cincinnati Reds Chiba Lotte Marines = Look like Chicago White Sox Saitama Seibu Lions = Look like a mix of the Kansas City Royals, & 80's to present day Toronto Blue jays with sky blue and navy blue, white and red away/alternate/throwback jerseys and with the Detroit Tigers style White Home Jersey blue trim and gothic script. Recently, professional baseball team power balance is broken in Japan. A few team’s have a lot of money, they get great player from other team. I think all team’s power should be fair. That make more exiting to watch game. How do you feel about it?
I think the power balance now is better than it was in the past but it’s still a problem. There will never be a perfect balance but if some teams remain uncompetitive for too long, their fans will lose interest in the game.
Baseball International they must be American players or players from countries which play baseball. What about those people who haven't ever played baseball ever before and wish to play in baseball league.... like me😂😂
Baseball International local league like of any particular ward? I'm going to Japan in October probably in the Edogawa ward of Tokyo. How should i join any local club? Please let me know.
really good video but please note that the Japan series only came to be after the creation of the pacific league in 1950. You mentioned the Hanshin Tigers had only 1 title in their history which is incorrect. They were the Japanese baseball league champions in 1937 1938 1944 and 1947 and NPB champions in 1985. Also Chiba is not a suburb of Tokyo, it is not even a city, it is a prefecture (state) that is next to Tokyo prefecture.
Bro, just came across this video, I must say you need a pop filter or back up from the mic cause throughout the entire thing I can hear, what I can only describe mouth noises that come from a lot of saliva in your mouth which sounds horrible especially with headphones
I'm totally supporting Japanese baseball after our own sports franchises have become political platforms. Screw that, I watch sports to ESCAPE that crap.

I'm dropping american TV for Japanese TV. This video is informative and will help me transition to Nippon baseball. Let's go Tigers!

I was looking for a video just like this, and stumbled upon this. This is an amazing video! Thank you! Go Tigers!
I'd consider the Hanshin Tigers the Cubs of the NPB. Koshien is widely regarded as the Wrigley Field of Japan (the oldest stadium in the NPB), the team is more than a century old, curses, etc.
I was going to say that too.
Thank you for this video! I'm just getting into NPB after working with stuff related to MLB for a while. Quite a difference, can't wait to see a game hopefully soon.
Thanks for watching! I’ll be making more videos about NPB so come back and visit my channel again.

What a wonderful tradition!
You did not mention that the Rakuten Eagles were formed due to the Orix BlueWave-Kintetsu Buffaloes merger.
I'm so interested in this. thank you
Who would you say are the "Detroit Tigers" of Japan historically
The BAYstars
@@jorgevecinocastro3407 cool!!! What is your reasoning ??
I'll give NPB a try. Where can I watch the games?
+David Davenport theres a youtube channel that uploads highlights of many games, the channels name is Sheriff MC
This was very helpful! Thank you!
Thanks for putting together such an informative video - very useful for me as someone new to NPB! I've opted to root for the Hanshin Tigers... as a Phillies fan, I'm worried that I'm a glutton for disappointment :P
Same here, Go Tigers!
very informative video! thank you!
Thanks for doing this!!
This was just spectacular!!
I like japanese baseball style.more fundamental. Moving along the runners
Why leaving out Victor Starffin when taking on the Giants?
I'm barely starting to get into Japanese baseball I'm pulling for the Giants (and the friendship they had with my Dodgers) cause of Sadaharu Oh ps you forgot perhaps the first great Japanese to make it to MLB Hideo Nomo who played with the Buffaloes
Some image alignment issue but very interesting and precise video...
Remember Hideo Nomo was a Kintetsu Buffalo! Without this legend Japanese players might not be playing in the MLB like now.

I give this video on Japanese baseball teams 👍👍!
Is there a good place to read about or see the top prospects for each team and in the league?

How can one watch live or replays of NPB in the USA?
Where can I watch these games
tv.pacificleague.jp/page/smp/help-en/
The Sportsguy98 you can normally find live streams of the games on TH-cam, just search something along the lines of “baseball” but in japanese
Wait Sawamu Eijun is a REAL person? I taught he was just an anime character🤯🤯
Yoshi “MOTO” Tsutsugo🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hey... can foreigners play in Japanese baseball league?
Yes, they can. Each team has at least five non-Japanese players on their roster.
Baseball International they must be American players or players from countries which play baseball. What about those people who haven't ever played baseball ever before and wish to play in baseball league.... like me😂😂
Not professionally but you could join a local league
Baseball International local league like of any particular ward? I'm going to Japan in October probably in the Edogawa ward of Tokyo. How should i join any local club? Please let me know.
Find the nearest community center/ cultural center in whatever ward you’re living in and they’ll be able to tell you.

Sounds like Hanshin is the pirates of the NPB.
They are also the Cubs and the Indians in the NPB.
Hotaka Yamakawa was is not an outfielder he is a first baseman
You’re right. My mistake
It's weird how their colors and logos match ones of the MLB.
Bc of anime,When I was kid I thought baseball orginated in Japan😅
日本人ですか??
ちがいます。
I'd love to catch a Yomiuri Giants game. For anyone that is tired of wokeness or weird rule changes ruining MLB, i highly recommend Nippon Baseball
