I ended up spending ¥800 for a beer at the Yomiuri Giants game, but when the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters played a few home games at the “Big Egg” they were selling their Hokkaido Punch for only ¥500. It was really good, and so was the yakisoba.
the intensity from the fans reminds me of my high school days. Imagine 8000 people at a high school game. It happened a lot for my school especially when we played our best rival (well pretty much every team in our city). That's why I want to play in Japan because the fans have that same energy.
@@samuelandaudrey It was a great experience. Search up "Corpus Christi Moody Baseball" if you have the chance. Especially the Moody vs Calallan games. Thanks for commenting 🤗
I am so happy to see you enjoying the baseball game in Japan. I am a fan of Yakult swallows and I believe you were surprised seeing cheering songs, umbrella, variety of food, and so on. I went to a game last yr (September) and the same teams were playing! I don't know anything about baseball but it was the highlight of my trip! I recommend it to everyone now. We caught a bus from shinjuku and then went to the ticket sales box and got their cheapest tickets (GA) You can also bring your own food and alcohol, they just transfer your cans in to plastic cups. Again, it's a MUST do for anyone. Amazing atmosphere
We managed to have the same experience last summer and it was wonderful, we even saw them play the Giants. One interesting fact, which isn't mentioned and I found fascinating was that you can bring your own food and drinks. There were huge lines at all the combinis in the area with all the locals shopping :-) The only thing they request from you is to pour the beer (or any drinks) into cups, which they provide you themselves.

Sam you did a great job. I did not know Tokyo had baseball teams and its weird depending who your team is you go to different sections. what a huge burger you ate looked good
I saw three games at three stadiums on my first trip to Japan. I recommend a game for any sports fans. Swallows play at an old stadium but it's all about what goes on inside. Beer girls, organized fan cheering, horns and drums, it all has its own original flavor.
Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos - Yokohama seemed like the most modern. Tokyo dome was like taking a time machine to see what the Astrodome might have been like in the 1970s. My favorite was the Swallows stadium because it seemed older and more intimate. They had a practice field close by that you could see the players warming up in. Then the players walked over to the stadium and you got to see them walking (a couple riding bikes) amongst the fans right into stadium. Would never see that in the US.
Hey! Heading on a 10-Day Japan trip at the end of the month. Was lucky enough to snatch tickets for both the Giants and Swallows. Extremely looking forward to the experiences!!!!! Also #GingersUnite
Well the experience is great for sure i have myself been to many Lions game at the Seibu dome it's usually not overcrowded which is something i like you can sneak in the lower levels. But alas despite all the great energy it's the same problem in japan... baseball is experiencing a sharp decline in popularity.
Sam ... and they all help clean up after the game ... bizarre culture ... would never happen in Oz nor Canada I assume ... great vlog mate ... miss Auds
Just discovered your videos and I definitely have to subscribe now, especially since I’m a lifelong diehard Cubs fan. How many people noticed that you were wearing a Cubs shirt to the game in Japan?
Looks like the uniforms are modelled on US uniforms and logos. The Dragons look like the Dodgers. Obviously you've got the Giants, too. Are they rivals like in the US? I wonder why they chose this?
Yeah, I love how they keep it affordable for the blue-collar salary person in Japan! It has become so expensive to watch major sports like baseball, hockey, basketball, football in USA/Canada.
Hi Sam , great video as always! I'm headed to Tokyo in late April and would love to see a game can you or anyone out there recommend the best way to get tickets ahead of time? Thanks and looking forward to your South American videos!

Thanks so much for the suggestion! After believing that all tickets were sold out or too $$$ I was able to find 2 tickets through viagogo for a Giants game! My husband is excited for the game, I’m excited for the food! :D
I like how they are all unique in design and also in dimensions. Most other sports have standardized features but each stadium has its own unique attributes.

When it comes to actual swallows vs. dragons, dragons would win every time. Unless the swallow, being smaller and quicker, could find a place to hide from the dragon. Just a random thought.
