@@vic-zv4bb Unfortunately, he's pretty sluggish and his fielding is not the best. However, his OPS is better than ichiro. He has the chance of being better than ichiro in terms of batting. He has a high on-base percentage due to his good eyes. Redsox can use him as a leadoff man.

With two straight fastballs that were so inside he had to dodge them and how Ohtani was staring down the pitcher after each of them, I wouldn't be surprised if they were trying to peg him for all those runs that were scored.
As a Korean baseball fan, I would like to express my gratitude to the Japanese national team for reminding us of the terrible level of Korea. Unlike Korea, Japan is definitely developing. On behalf of Asian baseball, I hope Japan wins this WBC again.

As Japanese, we even have a strong image of him in red now over the old uniform when he was in NPB.
@@carbonerd5935 I'm American and I think it is cool to see Shohei back in the Stripes that I first saw him in. I pay attention to these tournaments. I knew right away that he could star in MLB without too much trouble.
I hope Mr. O gets to win some games with this team. More than in Red. I'm not complaining too much, watching Mike Trout and him together is great. It's just a tough team to follow. They have some dumb injury luck going.

Japan has been that team in every WBC. I've been a fan of Japanese ball. As long as they aren't playing the US. Japan always has awesome pitching. Their defense and offense are both high-level "smart baseball" stuff that gets me excited. Every player is disciplined. They make few mental mistakes

NPB constantly exports solid starters. Yamamoto is coming in a few years, and 21-year-old Sasaki and 20-year-old Takahashi are also very promising. I think it a good option for asian pitchers to join the league if they can’t get a offer from MLB teams.
Thing is NPB has "Foreign Players Rules", only 4 foreign players are allowed on the 25-man game roster, there is no limit to the number an organization can sign, but that makes Asians hard to get in NPB. They prefer Americans or Hispanic players.
@@mikekawasaki3272 That’s such a tight restriction… I hope they accept more foreign players to the league. Especially for starters, NPB seems to be a good step-up league where enthusiastic crowds welcomes them.

현재의 KBO의 선수들은, 2009년과 2015년에 일본을 상대로 대등하게 싸운 선배들의 유산을 마치 자신들의 업적인 양, 자신들이 귀족이 된 것처럼 팬들을 무시하는 행동이 많았고, 특히 국가대표 레벨의 선수들은 팬들의 사인 요청을 무시하는 등 팬서비스에 인색하며, 이미 고액의 연봉을 받고 있음에도 재계약을 할 때마다 연봉협상으로 팬들과 구단과 논쟁을 해 왔기에, 한국 팬들은 이러한 행동에 지쳐 있었습니다.
지금의 한국 대표팀을 향한 한국인들의 질타는, 어찌보면 자업자득이죠.

So much happy to have Tatsuji, Tatchan, or you may call Lars in Team Japan. I think he's doing extremely well with the second batter Kondo, and defensively perfect. Also importantly he looks completely fitting to the team guys. I haven't been to St Louis, but about 20 years ago visited Memphis Redbirds' home stadium when Taguchi was playing. That place was very attracting. Wish all the best to the Cardinals organization this season!!

Korea didn’t play horrible, they gave 100 percent their best and this is the result when compared to Japan. I don’t know why so many Korean fans are criticizing their players. They just need to accept the current level of Korean baseball.
