I have your tune stage 1 but haven't loaded it yet. I'm testing out the Cobb ots stage 1 first. Compared to Cobb how does yours deal with rev hang and how's the mpg compared to Cobb?
MAPerformance I bought the 2018 tune and access port for my 2018 WRX but I started getting feedback knock immediately so I uninstalled everything.
Guys, buy it from Ian. You will NOT regret it. I am not a car guy (in terms of knowing what the hell I'm doing) even a little bit - Ian hooked me up with a good price, and their custom tune is badass. I am not a big number guy so not going to talk about torque/hp increases, but I will certainly say the power that the car has is way, way, WAY more usable. You can watch the tach go smoothly all the way up to 8k rpms. It's really impressive and makes the car less "twitchy". This is on a 2016 WRX and could not be happier. +Mitch Brenner I'm not an expert either, but rev-ing up to 8k on this engine is a bad idea. Redline is at 6700 rpms. However, you are right, this tune is pretty awesome and the customer service is great!

I have a 2017 WRX. I bought a Cobb AP w/ the '93 OTS tune from MAPerformance. I ran the Cobb AP for about a week before adding the OTS. The Cobb alone did smooth the car and add some power. The MAPerformance tune added a ton of power and made my car super fun to drive.
OMG buy this, but this Asap. A rundown..I've had my 17 WRX since Aug 19,16 and I drive 3+hrs a day from Jax,FL to UF (Gainesville). Put 15k on the odo and said I'd had enough of the twitchy throttle from N-1-2-3 and was really tired of never being able to shift smoothly like I can in [ANY] other car (15+ WRX owners, you know what I mean). I got the Accessport from MAP on a Monday, car ran so well I bought the Mishimoto CAI w/box tuesday, received/installed it tonight (thursday) and [insert whatever expletive you want] this is truly an amazing car now. It's a super plus that MAP's map works with the Mishimoto CAI already so I didn't have to grab another tune from Ian. I use the 93 map he sent me and now all is right in my driving world. Bunch of guys on youtube have good sound bites of pulls with it on, not sure if it's with the map but you'd get the gist.

Loving the MAP stage 1 93 OTS on my stock 2017 WRX. Just for giggles I swapped back to the Cobb Stage 1 93 for a few days and needless to say I was thrilled to flash back to the MAP OTS tune. The daily driving RPM range (2-3K RPM) feels great for light throttle cruising but the car will run like a raped ape ((3K RPM +) if you need passing/merging power on the highway. My first full tank on the MAP Stage 1 netted almost 24.7 MPG average (hand calc - Subie eco gauge reported 26.4MPG) for that tank of gas with a fair amount of spirited driving sprinkled in. The Accessport logs are looking good in almost 90 degree weather (DAM hasn't budged from 1.0 and only feedback knock is occasional light throttle -1.41 common to the WRX). I'm not an engineer but based on the logs and gut feeling the Cobb or MAP OTS tune is probably safer than staying with the wretched Subaru tune. Very impressed with the flash and go result of your calibration.

i just installed my stage 1+ accessport and intake today and i am so happy. car pulls harder, sounds better, and is an easier to drive mt as they fixed the accelerator to rev more predictably. if youre undecided i say to go for it. 10/10

I just purchased a 2016 wrx and previously owned an Si 2015. On the Si a reflash or tune for one car won't work on other Si's, and e-tuning is huge on the market. Every Si behaves differently and requires their own tune which requires weeks of data logging.
Reading the comments below it looks like no other wrx owners have issues running your custom tune. I guess what I'm trying to say is is the wrx all created "equal" where one map works on all?
+getgabenbro Not necessarily equal, our map is designed to be a "flash and go" tune, but we always recommend you to keep an eye on your logs just to make sure everything is working correctly. About 2 out of 10 tunes sent will require a few adjustments!

I have had this for almost 2 years and still love it. In a heart beat, yes, I'll do it all over again. Hopefully they allow for an intake with this soon? That would be the icing on the cake.
Thank you for the quick response. I am now debating between you (MAP) and Lachute Performance (LAP) for buying a cobb accessport with a 91 tune. My 2018 WRX is stock (k&n filter and turbosmart bov). So on your side, how many more HP from stock will I get (ish) with your 91 tune ?? FYI i did a dyno run and I got 210whp.

The HP and TQ shown in the graph seems like it is crank HP, not WHP. I'm looking at buying the tune but wanted to be sure where the numbers are coming from.
These are WHP numbers measured with our in-house dyno!

2016 WRX Premium Manual. I want to get the COBB AP with the free protune. In my area I have 92 octane gas. Will this work? What kind of differences will I see in gas mileage, negative or positive?

+Adam Lott You can run 92 octane in the 91 tune just fine! No differences in gas mileage at all. If anything, it may go up!

***** We had a Tomei exhaust on, but took it off to do the tune.
I got the MAPerformance stage 1 tune. Tried it for a while, and ended up going back to cobb 93 octane tune. MAPerformance tune has a lot of lag. You do not get the gains that MAPerformance got without sacrificing it down low and mid rev range. Nice top end, but car did not start pulling at all until 4k rpm. And worse fuel economy because you have to be on the gas more during daily driving due to lack of low end torque.

+tony ng We will sir. No issues with knocking or fuel cut off at all. Our tunes are still smooth and conservative. I have had this tune on my car now for 3 months (100 miles a day) and it's been a blast!

+GR8GUY54 These cars are just too sensitive to octane, and we couldn't make any more power of the Cobb that was worth it... that being said we wouldn't recommend running 91 on a 93 tune! Sorry we can't help.

I will be getting my 18 wrx sti here on the 15th and I'm curious to after break it if I have a cobb intake will the stage 1 91 octane work ok or do I need another intake. I really like the cobb intake only reason is the heat sheild that comes with it completely covers the intake. I live in so cal and it's in the 105 to 118 degrees in summer. Need all the protection I can get. Definitely thinking I'm going with you guys. If you could help that would be great!

hey I have a 2003 wrx full aftermarket exhaust including headers and a cold air intake.. I have the v3 ap and didn't know if you guys offered a stage 2 map that could do similar to this video.. the nearest protune shop is over three hours away from home and I work alot!! please help!

Yes we still offer our OTS 91/93 tunes with an Accessport purchase, and now have an E30 tune for an additional cost.
This is supposed to work on a stock car stock intake down-pipe everything in the engine. I have a after market exhaust would that count ? or it wont hurt nothing ? manual transmission wrx 2017
You will be just fine rocking an exhaust with our stage 1 tune.

Hi, I'm considering the Cobb AP and was wondering if you still offered the stage 1 stock tune for free? Also I've heard a lot about being careful what tunes to install because they could ruin your car. I guess the question is- Is it safe? Is it truly install and forget about it or will I have to monitor it? Reason I ask is because I wouldn't know what to look for. Anyway thanks for your videos and look forward to hearing from you.

If you are worried about it, you can install it and do some data logging, then send it in to us and well have our tuner Brian look it over to make sure its all good! IF there are any problems he can revise and update your tune!

My 2018 maperformance stage 1 tune pulls timing under boost and when AC is on it Boggs out and pulls timing if I give any moderate acceleration. Any idea why? Runs fine driving like normal person but of I give some boost it pulls timing and if I do another pull it will drop even lower. And ideas?

What if I want this but know nothing about any of it? I am buying a 16 WRX base have it on order from the dealer. I want a tune but something not too crazy. I also want to replace the exhaust from the turbo back and do a cold air intake. I plan to try to take the exhaust on by myself I have been watching videos on how to remove the Jpipe. Seems all the performance exhaust videos say you have to retune the car after installing the new exhuast? Will this free tune be what they mean when they say retune the car?

So this tune you send us is strictly for the stock 2015+ wrx correct? Because I was going to add a catback exhaust soon and I don't want the ECU to be thrown off.
Our stage 1 is safe with exhausts, its only until you get towards full stage 2 that you will need a separate tune. Of course, if you want to maximize the exhaust you should get a Pro-tune. But you shouldn't have any ECU problems! Please feel free to give us a call if you have any further questions.

If I get the intake would I receive both stage 1 tunes? Or will it only be the stage 1 plus tune?
The intake kit will come with just the 1+ tune.
I think I found from where to buy the AP. I have a couple of questions, I would like to install a CAI, can I run this free tune with it? Also, would I need to remove the pill restrictor? Thanks in advance.
+Mr Antifeca Happy to answer them for you! Our OTS Stage 1 tune does not support our CAI.. Depends on which intake you go with; other manufactures may not require a tune. The pill restrictor only needs to be removed with our Stage 2 tune. Good to go on OTS Stage 1!

Comes down to personal preference really, we would recommend breaking in the motor a bit first.
MAPerformance i was thinking of flashing the tune at 5k miles?
I believe the break in period is typically around 1k miles, so around 5k would be a very safe choice!

This will fit the CVT and comes with a tune.

Just Ordered the accessport from you guys and cant wait to flash it on my 16 wrx! Is there anything else I need to do to the car ? The reason im asking is because on the website it says to remove the restrictor pill and I thought you only did that when you go stage 2. Just needed some clarification. Thanks !

I assume both the ets intake and nameless axleback together should be able to run the tune stage 1 tune safetly since they work with the stock tune? correct me if im wrong? Im very interested in buying the AP from you guys but want to hear your input.
Yes that will be fine! It is always ideal to have a tune for whatever mods you have but you will be just fine.

+Benjamin Lee Did you purchase the AP from us? If so then it is available for free and you should have gotten directions as to how to obtain it... If you didn't buy from us then our tune is available for purchase by itself.
