I love the narration style for the voices and storytelling. It adds a ton of texture to the way this story is presented, like I'm being told a cautionery tale. The animation style is just as spectacular, the frames being mainly still really adds to the uncanniness. Also, this supposed uncle and aunt gave me all kinds of ick. Mr Bobo was already creepy enough, but the idea of the people you're supposed to trust (ie family members) being the ones to invade your privacy and boundaries the most? Eeugh. Incredible work. The unease the moment Oliver became scared of his uncle was unreal.
This may sound weird but this kind of gave me the same feeling as when I read the original Pinocchio story for the first time. Just the prospect of a young boy being put through traumatic situations just because he was ‘bad’. Also the hanging. That’s one of my favorite books so I liked this a lot, how it’s not just scary monsters, but more real and grounded and messed up.. idk, this is a good short horror film.
Shocking enough, I feel like the uncle learned from his dad alongside Oliver's dad that was a abusive grandpa, to the point of spying, but the twist and horror was so good, even how you said it calm and not in a tone like "OOH SO SCARY" is a chef kiss (1:ty for 100 Likes!:3
This reminds me of The Kid with the Camera in the sense that it seems like supernatural horror, but in reality, it almost seems like a psa for children meeting dangerous people.
I like how the horror of the animation isn't like, actual monsters and demons. it's just an abuser man/woman/couple that hunts the main character kid. Nice job!
LOVE the kid with the camera inspiration, and genually, I love that this one has more of a "human" horror, you probably already heard, but I like the use of generally supernatural horror tropes you weaponized for the twist, it hits a lot more when you realize its a camera. my only real suggestion would be maybe you coulda integrated the static of the old film as part of the reveal. like when you realize that bobo is a camera, the VCR thing goes away, idk. But good job man. just smart, also love that they keep the uncle's true motivations still otherwise secret, although you could probably get some ideas.
5:45, it says "CAM 6" so I guess that there are other hidden cameras around Oliver's room or the house. The fact that the aunt and uncle were "working" but they still knew what Oliver was doing is giving out the fact that they were probably fake working and were actually looking at the cameras, or the work they were doing could've been looking at cameras or fixing them to a point where they saw Oliver with Mr. Bobo and what scares me the most is that he went to the uncles house by his self on a bus without any adult. Great story, when you think that theres gonna be a jumpscare there isn't, just how a simple horror story works.

@@KingPicoFNF it’s a very complicated situation, but tldr the police here can’t do anything about the situation because it happened outside of the country, but thank you so much for your concern and tip, it means a lot! :)
My head cannon is that the uncle and aunt went on to claim that Oliver never showed up at the house, and so his parents and the police were sent on a wild goose chase for the abductors who were, in reality, right under their nose.
Damn, the way this all played out is far more disturbing and chilling than any story about posessed stuffed animals, totally thought Mr. Bobo was actually posessed. Sometimes reality is scarier than fiction... It doesn't sink in until after the camera is discovered and the uncle is standing at the doorway that the sickening feeling of dread sets in for what presumably is about to take place... The absolute dread lingers with you long after it ends.
I think what happened is that the aunt and uncle have a sick fetish and the uncle probably got it from his dad The dad became stronger while the uncle internalized the abuse and made an even sicker way of punishing bad kids as a self loathing kind of tactic I believe he sexually assaulted the boy and then dragged him into the basement to film his torment further.
Look, all I'm saying is that maybe there was a reason Oliver's parents hadn't allowed him to go to his Aunt and Uncle's for 4 years. Or worse, maybe there was a reason his parents didn't go with him.
One detail I love is that "Uncle Charles" never volunteers any information, just confirms what Oliver thinks. It's unknown if that even _is_ his aunt and uncle, and I think that's the creepiest part
A possible explanation or basically what happened: A young eight year old named Oliver takes a visit to his uncle and aunt after getting dropped off by a public bus, only he went to visit them alone. Once shown his room, Oliver first notices Mr.Bobo, a lanky life-size rat plushie. His uncle told him that he and his brother used to play with him thinking at times he had an actual mind. During night time, Oliver is tucked in bed, Mr. Bobo is missing from the same place he was sitting at, but goes to sleep saying he isn’t real. Mr. Bobo stalks him in his sleep, Oliver wakes up the next morning playing with his truck to notice Mr. Bobo on the drawers again. Oliver throws his toy truck at him but apologizes, stopping for a bit to see a glowing red light in the plushie rat’s beaded eye. He takes the eye off to reveal a camera, his uncle enters the room to see them and closes the door behind him. Soon, Oliver is chained by his hands on a wall, his shirt seemingly taken off, while Mr. Bobo stares at him on a chair with the toy truck on the floor.
this and the kid with the camara are scary...becuse at first it seems as if its a other worldly creature. but in the end...its realistic...its human...its...its something that could possibly happen and probably has happened. this is horror...not the stuff you can't imagine...its the stuff you can. the man made horrors
This got shared on an analog horror subreddit, and I must say that this looks very good to me off the jump. It reminds me a lot of The Kid and The Camera with the clay figures and British narration.
Freaking loved this, man! Setting it up as mascot horror, only to reveal that the “mascot” was never the true monster, or even its own character! Now THAT was a refreshing and frightening twist!
After I finished this. I, for some reason, felt underwhelmed. It just didn’t give me the same eerie feeling as The Kid and The Camera. I closed the video out and went about my day. However, at night, I just couldn’t stop thinking about it. I then had a dream about it that scared the living hell out of me. Woke up in the middle of that dream and refused to open my eyes, afraid of seeing Mr. Bobo, because I was half a sleep. Thought about it more when I woke up in the morning and now, days later, I am back rewatching the video for a 2nd time. I guess it didn’t give me the same feeling as The Kid and The Camera, but it gave me a different feeling with the same effect. Good job 😭
I thought it would be that the actual aunt and uncle had moved away and no one knew yet, and these people weren’t really related to Oliver’s family. Then I thought Mr Bobo would be evil. It turned out the aunt and uncle were his actual relatives and unfortunately terrible people.
News Report aftermath: News reporter (Heather Jones) : Little Oliver was suddenly put into the hospital after his parents founds bruises and cuff marks on his body. This was so sudden just after he got back from his aunt and uncle ‘who was currently suspects of this awful abuse’. *update handed to her* This just in. The aunt and uncle were taken for questioning what happened. The uncle claimed that Mr. Bobo hurt him after one misbehaved move. The father commented; “Mr. Bobo was a stuff animal he and I played as children. There is no way he could do that. He and I once thought he had a mind of his own.” The police looked around the house and they were stunned to see a basement looking like a dungeon. Needless to say this Mr. Bobo is nono. The uncle was transported to the local asylum after claiming Mr. Bobo did it 16 times. If you have some info about this, contact the police. This is Heather Jones. Stay tune for the local weather report.
Bro Oliver’s voice saying “uncle Charles?” At 6:23 had me in tears and now he’s probably very confused why his uncle chained his arms and left him hanging in the basement to die alone :(
This was incredible. I was going into this thinking. It was going to be another kid in the camera knock off or whatever it’s pronounced, and I was pleasantly surprised that it isn’t. The twist with Charles is heartbreaking because of the realism in it. Analog horror such as urban spook use the topic of being abducted and horrible things to them in a horrible way It’s just made for you not only did you blur out but you didn’t. Oh my God this kid got stabbed 185 times that’s what is scary You perfectly Handled it maturely The scary part is the realism and not the fact that it’s disturbing subject matter well done. I’m definitely gonna come back to theses
This had to have been made by the same genius behind the kid and the camera right? If not then wow! Whoever made this did a great job adding that same animation and horror theme into this
I think if it ended when he closed the door, it would have been more impactful. Leaving it up to the imagination will always lead to a darker and more twisted outcome than you could ever come up with. Overall a really good short film.
This is a video that leaves you with far more questions than answers in a good way. Were these two really Oliver’s aunt and uncle? Why wasn't he allowed to see them for four years? Did something bad happen the last time he saw them that Oliver doesn't remember? If so, why are his parents letting him back there on his own now? Does the grandpa have anything to do with this? So many questions and its a feat that it makes me curious instead of frustrated as some stories like these do. All in all, great video!

Yes! For an instant, I thought there were related haha!
@@tarwater27 Tbh, I almost forgot myself. I edited my comment several times as a result until I remembered.
Thank you for noticing too
Thank you for noticing too
the moment the narrator (who was usually directly talking to the audience) was muffled behind the door, my eyes actually widened
You have officially made me feel bad for this character like he’s only eight
I don't think many people mention that the lack of music just makes this short so creepy the whole way through.
Shocking enough, I feel like the uncle learned from his dad alongside Oliver's dad that was a abusive grandpa, to the point of spying, but the twist and horror was so good, even how you said it calm and not in a tone like "OOH SO SCARY" is a chef kiss
(1:ty for 100 Likes!:3
But the kid's dad was probably decent enough
@@jackislegitterrified3689 To be fair maybe, Oliver did seem like a good kid
You did amazing job with the narration as always! Nice seeing ya collab with other people 🤙🔥
This wasn't a collab, but thank you!
This reminds me of The Kid with the Camera in the sense that it seems like supernatural horror, but in reality, it almost seems like a psa for children meeting dangerous people.
This one isn’t meeting new people, it’s danger from people around you
As in family
I like how the horror of the animation isn't like, actual monsters and demons. it's just an abuser man/woman/couple that hunts the main character kid. Nice job!
I love how the whole thing is a slide show and then suddenly Mr Bobos shadow is fully animated.
I love the camera POV that says “cam 6” just implying it’s not the only camera absolutely bone chilling
I’m going to assume that uncle and his brother grown up in an abusive household
And I am going to theorize it was more than child abuse I can’t say it here but you can guess what I’m thinking
No, I can't. Explain.
@@EarthwormShandy basically I think the Uncle is a child M🤬lester along with the dad who m🤬lested him and the brother but that just me reading probably too hard into it😅
Could be just child abuse
The boys dad?
No, why would he. He sends him out there where he has no signs of trauma, just so he can abuse him with his brother.
It’s definitely possible, but it’s just be the uncle.
@@Kumo5980Thats child abuse, bro.
@@Kumo5980 Why did you censor out a word
the fact that at 0:44 you can see two body bags in the backyard, possibly the real aunt and uncle
No, they are the real aunt and uncle. This isn’t paranormal its realistic.
This short really hit home to me, as I’ve gone through something similar involving a family member. For some reason, watching this and reading the comments comforted me, because I know that there are people that DO care and know what it’s like, contrary to how I felt before about my situation. This was great, keep doing what you’re doing Mr.Friend :] (sorry if this makes no sense, i’m not good at putting my thoughts into words)
It's awful that you were put in a similar situation. How are you doing today?

This dark turn this took threw me for a loop. I need more content.
Bro is cooking
Cooking what?
Cooking the vids
CoryXkenshin would have loved this on spooky scary Sunday :(
I think what happened is that the aunt and uncle have a sick fetish and the uncle probably got it from his dad
The dad became stronger while the uncle internalized the abuse and made an even sicker way of punishing bad kids as a self loathing kind of tactic
I believe he sexually assaulted the boy and then dragged him into the basement to film his torment further.
What makes this great is it's so realistic. This could actually happen
Look, all I'm saying is that maybe there was a reason Oliver's parents hadn't allowed him to go to his Aunt and Uncle's for 4 years.
Or worse, maybe there was a reason his parents didn't go with him.
oliver's parents wanted to get rid of his ass lol they knew damn well his uncle was sketch
This is very unsettling great job! Its crazy this hasnt breached 1k views. You need more attention
Kind of you to say, thanks!
One detail I love is that "Uncle Charles" never volunteers any information, just confirms what Oliver thinks. It's unknown if that even _is_ his aunt and uncle, and I think that's the creepiest part
I thought SO too. But he says "your aunt and i"before Oliver called them that, SO i think they really we're his family
It's pretty irresponsible of the parents to let their eight-year-old son ride a bus to visit his uncle and aunt.
A possible explanation or basically what happened:
A young eight year old named Oliver takes a visit to his uncle and aunt after getting dropped off by a public bus, only he went to visit them alone.
S*xual abuse?
Dude that’s no a explanation, you literally just resume the video

this is genuinely a rare really good twist ending in any horror content ive ever seen
It’s funny how “mr.bobo” sits there like golden Freddy
this and the kid with the camara are scary...becuse at first it seems as if its a other worldly creature. but in the end...its realistic...its human...its...its something that could possibly happen and probably has happened.
this is horror...not the stuff you can't imagine...its the stuff you can. the man made horrors

"Oliver spent the day playing with his favorite toy, *while his aunt and uncle worked in the basement*"
That doesn't sound suspicious at all.
Oliver punt him its a toy😂nvm the uncle was the problem......
This got shared on an analog horror subreddit, and I must say that this looks very good to me off the jump.
It reminds me a lot of The Kid and The Camera with the clay figures and British narration.
"stop that oliver you're not 7 anymore" got me dying 😂
Freaking loved this, man! Setting it up as mascot horror, only to reveal that the “mascot” was never the true monster, or even its own character! Now THAT was a refreshing and frightening twist!
That was amazing. It did a complete 180 with what I thought was going to happen.
Glad you liked it!
Good job 😭
How did I not see this until now?! This is amazing! X3
I thought it would be that the actual aunt and uncle had moved away and no one knew yet, and these people weren’t really related to Oliver’s family. Then I thought Mr Bobo would be evil. It turned out the aunt and uncle were his actual relatives and unfortunately terrible people.
News Report aftermath:
News reporter (Heather Jones) : Little Oliver was suddenly put into the hospital after his parents founds bruises and cuff marks on his body.
He and I once thought he had a mind of his own.”
The police looked around the house and they were stunned to see a basement looking like a dungeon. Needless to say this Mr. Bobo is nono.
The uncle was transported to the local asylum after claiming Mr. Bobo did it 16 times.
If you have some info about this, contact the police.
This is Heather Jones. Stay tune for the local weather report.
Bro Oliver’s voice saying “uncle Charles?” At 6:23 had me in tears and now he’s probably very confused why his uncle chained his arms and left him hanging in the basement to die alone :(
There’s another video made by this guy that shows Oliver was just locked up for a day and survived.
What I've recently learned from horror: Don't sends your kids off alone to a relative's house if you haven't seen that relative in a while.
When “mr bo bo” was standing upright it reminded me of mr Hopp’s playhouse
Great twist! I legit thought it was leaning towards the supernatural, but it was grounded with the uncle being creepy.
This was incredible. I was going into this thinking. It was going to be another kid in the camera knock off or whatever it’s pronounced, and I was pleasantly surprised that it isn’t. The twist with Charles is heartbreaking because of the realism in it. Analog horror such as urban spook use the topic of being abducted and horrible things to them in a horrible way
It’s just made for you not only did you blur out but you didn’t. Oh my God this kid got stabbed 185 times that’s what is scary
You perfectly Handled it maturely The scary part is the realism and not the fact that it’s disturbing subject matter well done. I’m definitely gonna come back to theses
Thanks! I'm glad it was better than you were anticipating
@@mrfriendhorror yeah It was truly awesome

I'm getting the "kid and the camera" vibes from this, great job!
My joke aside the realistic horror abput is is what twists my guts. Great job
One of the best analog horror shorts ngl, the part where 3:47 Bobo’s shadow can be seen moving creeped me out, and also, who is watching Oliver?
I think if it ended when he closed the door, it would have been more impactful. Leaving it up to the imagination will always lead to a darker and more twisted outcome than you could ever come up with. Overall a really good short film.
I’m thought that Oliver would be trapped there forever but no, he’s just trapped there until he acts good again
“That’s Mr booboo,” what the frock is a Mr boo-boo
mr bobo sold me fent outside walmart
The scariest monsters are the ones you've already seen, but haven't realized ARE
this was a crazy twist! i feel so bad for the boy. I wonder if the aunt is also working with the uncle too. its sick
Damn, what this implies is so messed up, the aunt is freaky too!!!
this is a genuine good story, but im really confused! can someone explain the context?
I love this video, It doesn't have cheap jumpscares and low quality old tv screen filters😄
This kinda has the same feel as “The Kid and The Camera” 😅 I love it
first time a youtube video has given me chills up my spine. holy crap. this is phenomenal work.
2:00 you can see the texture of the wall is the same as the backrooms wall textures. Cool right?
I'm definitely getting The Boy And His Camera vibes.
All in all, great video!
very good, the animation still reminds me of the Kid and the Camera video
Yeah its creepy.. but the fact is oliver just turned 8😢
