Absolutely amazing. Needs more views. I loved every second. I was so distracted by how cute and innocent it looked that I forgot it was a horror film. making the horror aspects that much stronger.
A small detail I love is that when the killer used the sleep fairy disguise/puppet thing, it said that they knew the kid’s name and that they haven’t been sleeping. Meaning that they had been stalking them for awhile which is just scary as hell to me.
Not just that, I think the stalker is also stalking other children. Sense the stalker said to the little boy that "I know all of the boys and girls around the world, including their parents." This could imply that the stalker has been stalking other children and/or maybe only said that to the boy to gain his trust.
6:14 The look of realization in Cailen’s face after hearing a *Human* foot coming towards him knowing that he is *not* alone and probably it wasn’t Sleepfairy makes this scene even more terrifying .
@@guest1336 ye me too and another reason why is because there is a scary idk… picture made out of something natural.. idk but it’s scary and if something would be even looking at me through the window that’ll probably give me a deadly heart attack
I haven't seen anyone talk about the fact that when the Sleep Fairy is talking, his antennae looks unnervingly similar to human eyes. You can see it best at 2:48 and it's probably not meant to be like that, but when I saw it I had a chill cause it felt like there was an actual adult person puppeteering the Sleep Fairy, creepily watching Caleb as he lures him into his eventual demise
the fact that you can actually hear Caleb's soft little gasp right before the picture of the man appears is what really gets me... this poor sweet boy just wanted his camera fixed...
@@slippyfruit8538It’s not really natural selection when it’s kids is it? Kids are known to be gullible and easily manipulated which is sad but like… normal for them.
@@waffleauflauf4213 That's exactly what I thought, too. Which is interesting because it implies the narrator is actually a character within the story. Kind of makes you wonder what relation he had to the kid in the first place.. and also how he could have known so many details about the story
It’s sad when the narrators tone drops when he enters the home. It’s like the narrator knows how the story will play out and while he can’t be disappointed in the outcome it still makes him sad that that’s the way things went
Agreed… he sounds almost grave, like he’s a medical professional telling someone their child died (which he is, except the main character’s parents are never shown)
I like that they didn't use a creepy creature for when the boy saw his kidnapper, just a regular man, like in reality. This shows that the intentions of this short-film are to show the reality of things, magnificent.
the fact that the perpetrator is a human and not a cartoonish monster like I was expecting, is much more disturbing and scary because it’s realistic. this sort of stuff unfortunately happens on a daily…
@R3TRlSa 3rd theory is it could be two people. One would dress as the fairy and the other would be in the basement waiting. 4th (unlikely) theory: the fairy is an actual unnatural creature helping the man, since we don’t see his face the man could be a demon
Exactly. With Analog horror you expect this monstrous or abstract threat, but just having it be a man is so effective here. It immediately grounds the viewer in the worst way possible
While processing the photos, I was confused why there was no blood. I wondered if maybe there is some supernatural element to whatever happened to the boy, like he just clipped out of our dimension. Or maybe his blood was drained, and his body was cut into multiple pieces. I think the most unfortunate theory is that his feet were cut off, so he can't/couldn't run away from his captor.
@@_loechness_I believe there is blood, it’s just hard to see because of the lighting, but there is circular dark stains next to both of his feet. I think we just can’t see it in more graphic detail because of how the area that was cut is facing away from the camera
That’s what I was thinking. It freaks me out how they’re literally just nubs. No blood or anything. It just feels wrong in a way I struggle to describe.
Small detail but I love how the "tiny toe" logo disappears at 5:20. It takes away that level of immersion in believing that this is a real kids TV show, and replaces it with the feeling of viewing a slideshow of found crime footage. The innocence has been lost. The boy is far past the point of return.
I kept wondering why the puppet looked so lifeless in the photo sequence towards the end. I realized it’s because we first see the Cipsneed through the eyes of Caleb, later on we see it for what it truly was. Amazing film, I felt unease throughout the entire 8 min,
What makes this even creepier is that the man knows Caleb’s name, this suggests he knows Caleb’s family, which, if you know how common it is for child predators to be someone who knows the victim, adds another layer of realism
The name of the “fairy” seems like a pun on two things: kidnapper and baby monitor (Cipsneed > Kidsneed). Which means this was all engineered, it's was a predator watching Caleb all the time (as in most child murders/kidnappings, it is mostly people close to the family or stalkers who commit the crime)
A detail I didn't notice until my 10th viewing is at 4:49 the kid hears rustling in the nearby forest after the Kipsneed beckons him, almost like he was being followed at the same time, which would imply that this isn't a single predatory man but a group of predators which as a thought is terrifying
@@wikmarzycI believe the man in the basement and the one controlling the puppet are the same person, with the difference that in the last photo he took off the puppet from his hand.
The scariest part for me is that the narrator never confirms Cailen is dead. He could've survived the loss of his feet, and is still held by the stalker, somewhere out there where the police will never find him.
One detail i love is how every photo before the camera breaks is perfectly fine, and they only become distorted after the camera breaks. Meanwhile the last photo is not only completely fine, but in a different aspect ratio and quality, as it was not taken by Caleb, but by the police. Its details like this that i live for, and you hit it out of the park with this one.
LOL nice catch. Also when the boy is crying, you can see the puppet's eyes veer downwards for a moment, indicating that the killer is listening carefully
@@unlikeable.1554from the other options a cannibal would be the best way for the kid to go, also if he was a cannibal wouldn’t the feet have been eaten? Just a thought
I got so invested in this, and I genuinely felt so hurt for Caleb when the last screen showed. The scariest thing is how real the scenario is and that this exact type of thing can and has happened in real life.
@Qualing I could be a terrorist, a cannibal, the antichrist itself; But if I put on a barney suit, go to a kids birthday party and tell the parents I'm with the company they hired, no one would bat an eye, especially kids who dont understand how evil people in the world can be. Danger can hide in any form, so always be aware
Well sure kids can get lured into murder houses in real life, but how often do kids get convinced by a "sleep fairy" that looks like a butterfly peeking into their second-floor window to come with them to get a camera fixed?
@@FrenkTheJoyIt's from the kid perspective, so maybe the real things are cover by thier imagination to look so friendly... but in reality they are something different.
@@qualing673It’s not literally a fairy. Irl example: Jeffrey Dahmer lured a 13 year old boy to his apartment, drugged him, SAd him, and murdered him. Serial killers can and will do things like this, and the Kipsneed was just a puppet used to lure the boy. This HAS happened in real life. Don’t be obtuse.
The fact that the sleep fairy has a large mouth and small eyes just reminds me of a snake or crocodile, and really makes the uncanniness of his appearance. 3:19 really shows this, his lack of eyebrows and open mouth like he’s about to attack. So hard to put into words the amount of alarms this sets off.
3:15 this part right here, the way his eyes dart back at the kid without him saying anything, showing subtle signs he didn't have good intentions just shows how much work you put in, fantastic job, also that photo of the kids need in the basement, jeez that's terrifying yet so simple
I think a really subtle clue into the true nature of the puppet, is when the kid mentions his camera and cries, for a quick second the puppets eyes aren't looking at him, they're looking almost at us. I think this is showing us the moment the man let the puppet go limp in order to listen more closely. Edit: Holy Moly thanks for 2.5K likes 😁
@@The_real_Gorgo It happens at almost exactly 3:10, and it's super quick. I remember pausing that part to try and really get a good look at the puppets eyes and got a little chill up my spine when I noticed it 😁
I love how at around 5:20 the tiny tots logo disappears, and the narrator turns into more a a documentary style narrator instead of a storybook/kids tv one. And the imagery becomes realistic. It slowly turns into a true crime doc.
that short moment at 3:18, where he lifts his eyes up towards the boy after seeing his predicament firsthand.. you can tell in that short moment he knew exactly how he was going to lure the kid in what an amazing video!
This reminds me of the movie SMILE. The trauma demon disguises itself as everyday-looking people but makes sure that whoever it's targeting knows they're in the room and no one else can see what they are. The demon, when in human disguise, will tilt its head forward like it's preparing to lunge at you.
I think it’s worth mentioning that caleb was so upset and nervous about his camera being broken. When you make your kid too scared to tell you they’ve done something ‘bad’ or sharing stuff with you you make them more vulnerable.
this is definitely so true especially around sexual abuse, i know a lot of kids who don’t tell their parents because they think they did something wrong, very sad.
I think one of the most chilling details about the Cipsneed is that his eyes are on the front of his face, not the sides. That wouldn’t be much of a problem in any other context, but combined with his large mouth (and what eventually happens), it screams “predator.” For me, this makes each and every scene he’s in so unnerving. Well done!
@@proantagonist5042 predators have forward facing eyes, but prey animals have their eyes on the sides of their head, like deer. I think forward facing eyes are for depth perception, which is something a hunting animal needs. prey animals need to see their surroundings better, and the eyes being on the sides of the skull help with that
3:10 its brief but that impatient IDGAF look on the cipsneed's face honestly disturbs me because as it looks like he's lowkey losing his patience because he wants to kill this kid already and thats honestly where the horror in this starts.
@@gsmooth4279 I think that's the puppet going limp because the man was listening closely and knew there was no need to "animate" the puppet while Cailen was looking away.
I'd like to imagine the narrator is actually the murderer and he's just recounting the tale like it's some story to himself for an extra level of spook.
This could very well be the killers final words on death row, as he retells the story for everyone to hear before his death. Definitely makes this much more disturbing.
i think this is more like a case of hijacking networks, the killer could have made the cartoon and hijacked a popular kids network to broadcast it, since the authorities can't have the knowledge of the conversation of kailyn and the cipsneed, and it would be mad disrespectful to the kid's parents to make a cartoon out of the kid's death. I've heard of cases where killers would go out of their way to mock authorities for not solving their kills, so this might be one of those cases
The fact that it seamlessly shifts from an innocent bedtime story to a taping of a child abduction case where only the boy's feet could be found gives me chills. I can only dread to imagine what became of him and his parents...
This is the truest form of horror. No cheap jumpscares, no heavily edited and horrific imagery, no loud noises, not even any blood. Its completely reality based, the innocence and ignorance of a child being taken advantage of by a creep. I had an overwhelming sense of dread the entire time, and the last picture Callen took left a bigger impact of terror on me than any jumpscare ever could. Overall, just an absolutely stunning video, and also a great message. The term “stranger danger” can NEVER be emphasized enough
@@puppetcombofan Yeah, we kind of in fact overemphasized "stranger danger" to colossal ruin Heritage speaking, on the other hand, you never go with the fair folk, that's just logic
My favorite details came at the end. When we finally see the abandoned house at 4:25, and the narrator's voice becomes slowed and morose, before it finally stops altogether when he enters the house, allowing the camera clicks and photos to carry it along. The slight build up of that high pitched ambiance. It's all so well made but those were the parts that really impressed me.
The fact that the Cipsneed had plenty of chances to just grab Cailen while his window was open but instead chose to lure him into a dark house in the woods is what gets me. Like he could've easily snatched Cailen up and ran away and that alone would be horrific. But the fact that he instead chose to toy with him and lure him into a trap legitimately disturbs me.
agreed. being kidnapped is a terrifying thought in itself but this version of it kinda puts the pain on you because then you have to think that you brought yourself into this mess. it’s terrible. this really scared me. also the picture of the outside of the house i swear it had bones and skulls in front. terrifying
im pretty sure he wouldnt, though. the whole point of the scheme was to gain cailen's trust, because most kids actually won't just listen to randoms until they actually do form a sense of security and trust with the person. if he just snatched the kid right there, cailen would just scream and his parents would hear it and everyone else in the neighbourhood too. i think most kidnappers in real life does something similar to what kipsneed did here, maybe less dramatically, but basically luring kids away to their places. paedophiles do this as well when grooming children and inviting them to their houses.
The Kipsneed isnt real, it was just a puppet the kidnapper was using to lure the boy out. The puppet couldn't grab Cailen, that's why Cailen had to be lured out to where the kidnapper could get them.
There's something so sad about the fact that Caleb probably followed the Kipsneed because he thought he would get in trouble if he told his parents that he broke his camera. Feels way too real, too close to how little kids think and how predators take advantage of little kid logic
I wonder if his parents punished him before for breaking things by accident It'd make sense why he'd want to follow a complete stranger over his parents
This is horrifying and really well written. It almost feels like the Sleepfairy was just a puppet being used by a human stalker. It would explain why the Sleepfairy tells Calen to "follow his voice" meaning he's staying just out of reach. Which would be good if you're a human who's trying to hide.
Yes, at the image popping at 5:44 you can see the "Kipsneed" as the boy would actually see it, a lifeless puppet in our eyes, a friendly fairy to his, the man controlling it stays in the darkness in order to no be seen
That creature that shows up outside the kids window is ACTUALLY the scariest thing I've ever seen and I couldn't for the life of me tell you why- Kudos man this is amazing
it’s the face that gets me most. the unnatural wideness of it’s black void mouth with no teeth to speak of, the unmoving overshadowed eyes, the lack of eyebrows, it all comes together to make the whole thing uncanny
I love how instead of using jumpscares, it uses these deceptively cute clay figures, and the way the narrarator says the last line sounds like he's gonna cry or he's trembling! Wish you guys luck on any future projects horror, or not horror
One detail is that the killer's voice is so smooth and charming, Which makes it even more eerie considering how people with charismatic personalities can easily mask their true intentions and manipulate their targets, As they say. charisma is a deadly weapon
Exactly. It's the best version of VHS/Analog horror I've seen. This is like any old cartoon we watched as a kid, but we barely recall remembering it. For all we know, they could have been sinister in intention. I wouldn't be surprised if this video fooled people into thinking that maybe, just maybe, they recalled watching this as a kid.
I love how the sleep fairy looks he’s not intentionally creepy but with his long muzzle and gapping maw and tiny eyes, gives you that sense of unease I hopethis isn’t the last of him
@@Butyerfly most predators have eyes in the front of their skulls as opposed to prey having it at the sides! for example, a bunny has eyes on the sides of its head, while lions have eyes on the front of their skulls
At 4:40 you can here how the sleep fairy stopped being all happy and nice and jolly and stopped playing his role as his voice became more drab knowing he had sealed the deal
Whoever made this had a great knowledge of what 70's UK kids tv was like. The music, the narration and the stop motion effect is all absolutely spot on!
Like he is just "Oh yeah right this is a kid" Edit: 100 likes! wow never thought i'd get that much likes on such a generic comment! thank you all so much!
I can't tell if he feels bad because he's technically "working" for the murderer to lure an innocent kid or if he's thinking "oh this guy's vulnerable a perfect opportunity"
When the boy enters the house and the door shuts, you can almost feel the dread of the situation. My heart felt heavy and panicked as I knew that this innocent boy who wanted nothing but his favorite toy to be fixed was doomed. That final shot of the man was absolutely terrifying.
I saw clips of this on a review video about analogue horror. This reminded me of the scariest night of my life. One night when I was a kid, I had a weird dream I was in Venice and my hotel room were full of artwork and motifs of the Gorgon, Medusa. All of a sudden, I was woken up by a female voice shouting out for help. It was coming from the other side of the eastern wall of my room, and there was nothing on the other side, just the sheer vertical outside wall, and my bedroom was upstairs. There was no way anybody could've climbed up to that spot. I wanted to ignore it, so I turned on my TV, which was right next to my window. The problem with that was, this happened before flatscreens existed, it was a cathode ray tube TV, and it made a loud noise when I turned it on. Whoever or whatever was shouting for help heard it and came to my window and started knocking. It was a good thing my roller blind was down. Part of me wanted to open it to see who or what was there, but I was far too scared to. So I put a video on, went back to bed and played Pokémon on my game boy until the voice went silent and I drifted off to sleep. When I woke up, I noticed my TV was still on, and I remembered it was off when I went to bed, then I remembered what happened. This video made me glad that I didn't open the roller blind that night.
It’s incredibly haunting how the little tv logo disappears as soon as he walks into the killers, or what we can assume is the killers house. The childlike innocents is gone as we’re about to figure out the fate of the poor boy.
It's honestly a horrible shame that this isn't watched more. It's a wonderfully crafted, dreadful descent into the sad real depravity, and I just want to offer my kudos and respect. I feel you should upload this to more platforms; get some more eyes to see this. Newgrounds is one that I recommend.
There’s a ton to unpack here. For one thing, the narrator makes this way scarier than it would be with simple dialogue. It sounds less like he’s telling a story, and more like he’s watching Caleb during this. The shift in the narrator’s voice at the end is incredible. He sounds like he’s on the verge of tears and creates even more of the horror in the film. Then there’s the Kipsneed(?). It looks enough like a sweet little puppet, but the fact that it’s eyes are in front of its head and the way the jaw opens is truly terrifying. I know from personal experience how terrifying anything looking at you from your window is, but this? I’d be dead on the spot. Finally, there’s the end. Only Caleb’s feet are left, but why? Is he alive? Is the rest of him in one piece? How were they cut off? There are so many unanswered questions, and that has to be the most horrifying thing about this film. Humans want the answers, and uncertainty leads to terror. Not only this, but the photos are less like parts of the story and more like evidence that whatever happened to Caleb was not simply a kidnapping. It makes this less like a kids show and more like a unsolved case, animated to piece together the clues about what happened to Caleb. This is easily one of the scariest things I’ve ever seen. Every part is perfection. 10/10!
Caleb is definitely dead no way a child is surviving the blood loss trauma and pain from getting legs removed I think the killer knocked out cut him up and ate him since no other body part was found then left the legs behind to leave a trail for the police this fairy fairy Person is an infamous serial killer he travels across the world to find children then leaves their legs behind for the police as a symbolic sign of completely taking away their chances of ever escaping
My brother helped me make this observation! In the beginning of the video, it says “Once upon a star, there LIVED a boy named Kailyn. He WAS a happy little tot of six years old” This infers that Kailyn isn’t alive anymore.
There are also foreshadowing at the beginning : Before caleb trips on the branches and broke his camera He was looking BEHIND him The "fairy" know that caleb's camera is broken, which means that he's been stalking caleb through the beginning
The sleep fairy looks cute and creepy at the same time like if a kid saw it they would think it’s cute or magical but if an adult saw it they would be unnerved
Remember children. no matter what they say, if they proclaim to know you and your parents but you DON’T KNOW THEM: tell your parents as soon as possible! You could end up like poor camera kid here! GREAT use of photography and stop motion by the way! (I know it was made with blender, but it was VERY convincing!)
@@randomness928mannn I was on TH-cam at age 8 and I’ve seen some crazy scary kidnapping type horror videos. I also read comments a lot which stuck with me growing up because of how scared I was lol
5:40 gave me the absolute chills. Not only does that picture he took proves how it looks exactly the same as it did in the animation parts, unlike everything else, but it also proved how it wasn't his imagination or just symbolism for the real thing because it really is the real thing. That part is terrifying, I don't know why, but I absolutely love it.
It's so creepy! That means the fairy is a more of a demon luring kids to their demise. Such a great detail of the world building. But also so messed up. I loved it!
It's probably a puppet the guy is using to lure the kid which I believe to be miles better than having it be some 'real' monster like in every analog horror video ever.
I like how towards the end of the video, before we see the last photo (around the time he gets to the house) You can already feel a sense of sadness in the narrators voice, as If he already knows what's about to happen to the boy
For Caylenn, imagine how scared he must’ve been inside the basement of an abandoned house, in the middle of a forest in the middle of the night all alone and defenceless with his parents having no idea that he even left the house. Imagine the fear he felt, I feel so bad for the poor kid
@@jakbk98The next morning his parents are gonna wake up, see the front door wide open and Caylenn missing. And to their horror on the CCTV footage. They see their son leave the house in the middle of the night and walk straight into the forest.
i love the cipsneed’s design, it’s uncanny and freaky enough to be scary yet brightly colored and expressive enough to resemble a children’s mascot that was genuinely intended to be endearing
Thats what i think makes it all the more scarier. The fact that the kidnappers actually made it genuinely look likeable to a kid, and the animators didnt play into the "scary monster" stereotype. It's literally a kids toy puppet. But the fact that its intent and usage is so evil and horrific makes it more unnerving.
5:43 is probably the scariest shot in the whole video, even though the glitch effect makes it look weird, the kipsnee puppet looks fucking horrifying IRL
One of the scariest parts is that the “fairy” knows everything about all of Caleb’s friends. Even if he really doesn’t, it still implies Caleb isn’t the only child he’s seen/approached.
it's the photo at 5:44 that grounds me back to the fact that the photos are coming from a child and his corrupted camera. the photo of the kipsneed is so morbid and everything onward gives me goosebumps to no end - it's so, so unsettling.
fr. cause like, it could seem like a normal kids story up until the house, thinking "something may be wrong". and the picture makes you go like "okay, something is definitely wrong here"
The best part is the narrator who got the accent, calmness, language style so accurate like those old British children show from the 1970 like Noddy or Magic Roundabout. Gives an uncanny Valley horror
The part at 5:42 is so utterly terrifying just Cipsneed reaching his arms towards Caleb when walking downstairs to the basement and yet the music starts to get intense.
Explanation: The kipsneed/ sleep fairy was a puppet that was used to lure Caleb into an abandond home, where the man (who I assume was stalking Caleb, as he knew his name and knew that he hadn't really been sleeping for the past few days). The stalker was probably either on the roof dangling it down or holding it up in front of the window. It's also possible that it was a costume, but since we see both it and the killer in pictures taken pretty close together, it's less likely. The man then kills Kaleb and dismembers him. They found only the legs
2:48 God that line is so creepy to think about, “Would a stranger know your name?” Really impressive work! The mix of live action photos with blender is sweet! Would love to see more horror in this style!
5:42 A detail about this shot that I'm not sure if a lot of people notice is that if you look very very closely, the Cipsneed has strings attached to it's body and fingers holding it up. It could be that the methods of controlling the Cipsneed were not detailed or shown when it was in the perspective of the stop motion cartoon, or from Cailen's child perspective, but seeing the real life photograph of the abandoned house and the Cipsneed obviously being fake just makes the approaching climax all the more eerie.
While the final line and image were haunting. And the overall sense of dread kept me invested. I think the most horrifying image was the one corrupted photo of the Sleep Fairy beckoning the child into the basement. Its eyes shrunken to dots. While everything else was juxtaposed as realistic in the photos. The "Gipsneed" was just so off in both. Incredible work.
"Hello there, young lad!" greeted the creature, "I'm the Kipsneed! I'm your sleep fair-" It never got to finish as Cailen promptly smashed his fist into the creature's smiling yellow maw and shattered every bone. Still reeling from the impact, the creature staggered backwards, right off the roof it had been standing on. It crashed into the rough gravel driveway below with a thunderous thud. Nothing but silence followed. Having stopped screaming but with his chest still heaving, a trembling Cailen peeked down out from the rustling curtains of his open bedroom window down at the fairy's body lying limp below. A crimson pool of blood circled outwards from its oblong skull and soaked into his mother's prized begonias. In the waxy spotlight of the moon, Cailen was finally able to see the jagged outline of a knife and a thick roll of duct tape that the creature had tucked into both its colorful felt wings. On seeing it absolutely still, Cailen returned to his bed and settled in for a long and satisfied sleep. He didn't need a camera to preserve this particular image.
Haven't seen it commented yet but 2:43 really messed with me. When the kipsneed first arrives he remains fully outside the window but as he talks to Cailen he gets more comfortable and begins gesturing and reaching inside the window. But at this particular moment it feels like a boundary really got violated and the largeness of his "hand" also becomes evident. It also appears to have a very slight motion blur to it as if it was quite a rapid, almost violent gesture. Fantastic attention to detail!
wow, that's an amazing detail to notice. it shows how desperate kipsneed was to convince this child to trust him. that moment definitely revealed how much of a danger kipsneed truly was.
The fact the window was open alone gave me chills. Since any safety offered to the boy by potentially having the window shut/locked was gone at that moment. Not only that, but it implies that the Kipsneed/man might’ve opened the window themselves, which is so creepy and feels like such an invasion of privacy and safety. Like could you imagine if a stranger knocked on your door looking to talk to you, but rather than speaking to you through the door or waiting for you to open it, they just opened the door themself and took a step inside?
@@anonymousmouse8140 What really disturb me is thé fact that Caleb(ik it's not pronounced like that but i forgot thé correct writting)'s bedroom is maybe on thé grounded floor of thé house and not on thé second floor, knowing that thé kidnapper wasn't reaching thé puppet at thé windows because it was too high but was scrouching below thé window Creep me out, like thé kidnapper could've snatched him but chose not too because hé found a more efficient way to lure him (cause i think that if hé didn't won Caleb trust hé would have just kidnap him from there).plus we don't know how Caleb got out of his house, and thé easiest choice for a kid was going out by thé window, wich confirm m'y precious theory, there's so much creepy détails in this short film 😭
2:35 I like how the kipsnead's lore is a bit inconsistent. He's supposed to just be Calynn's personal sleep fairy, but he knows everyone across the world. Also he's supposed to be somewhat omniscient but he didn't know about the camera at all. No explocit, obvious contradictions, but just strange enough for most adults to recognize. Not to mention that the whole portal thing was made up 100% on-the-spot
I would love different styles for different shows, I would love something along the lines of “Nina and Star” or whatever it’s called, I liked it but it kinda creeped me out
Because let’s be honest here. This is the absolute best children’s show designs I have ever seen! You’re a true professional! You are REALLY in the independent animation community! Even kids would love these designs!
Hey, you guys, i just would like to say, it’s scary because this stuff DOES HAPPEN! Like, in REAL LIFE! No disrespect to the people it happens to though. R.I.P.
This is a really great short analog horror. My fav part is how it doesn't rely on cheap jumpscares but rather, building up the tense situation as it gets darker and more unsettling
I like how the picture of the house is shot at 4:30, because Caleb or Caylen is only 6, places around are much bigger like houses and trees, so it gives you an extra layer of fear when you realize how vulnerable the boy is. 19/10
You can also see what looks like a LARGE pile of human bones just to the left of the entrance, but you don’t notice it at first because it blends in so well.
The part where it's just the photographs with ambient sound and no narration is so chilling. The fact that the photos are depicted in live action was already established by this point; but having all animation and narration fade away, leaving the viewer with nothing more than dread is such a powerful moment.
2:473:19 the fact you can see the kidnappers eyes behind the kipsneed… the foreshadowing to the end is so little but when you go back you can see it so clearly. this is fantastic work
so i got curious and messed around with the picture at 5:41 and honestly it's horrifying as shit to think about. This thing, the kipsneed puppet, is just hanging there at the bottom of the stairs, beckoning for the child to enter into the basement.
Another commenter pointed out that there was what looked to be a vat of acid in the basement and suggested he was dunked in head first explaining why only his feet remained
@@Cherry_coke_pop Doesn't make that much sense to me. Like, what did the kidnapper achieve from doing that? It doesn't benefit him in anyway. If the kidnapper really wanted to watch the world burn, just become a terrorist.
And then they reveal that the whole portal world was all in caleb's head as he's dying and his mind flashes before his eyes ormsome cliche shit like that
3:40 The Kipsneed fading away and then Caleb looking directly to the audience is haunting. It’s like he’s asking the audience for help or some sort of reality check, but we aren’t there for him. He’s contemplating his options. Poor boy just wants his beloved camera fixed and also probably fears getting in trouble with his parents. I love the childish cartoon this film is set in, but the pictures Caleb took were set in our reality. I also love how it just tore you apart with suspense and there weren’t any jumpscares. I just love this film!
This is well made. It’s scary and sad at the same time. Kids should also learn the lesson of “just because someone you aren’t familiar with knows your name, doesn’t mean they aren’t a stranger” this also reminds me of those chilling commercials that they had on tv back in the 70s
Since everyone else is doing it, here’s a handful of interesting details I wanted to point out: 1. The narrator (Fantastic job, Richard Stibbard!) has the perfect tone and diction for this kind of story: calm, rich timbre, and the accent has a nice touch of “friendly uncle” to it. (I personally thought Richard was from Northern England because of the accent, but turns out he’s from Cheltenham, near Gloucester!) 2. The abductor was either quiet enough to put Caleb at ease or Caleb was distraught and/or tired enough to not ask too many questions. 3. Caleb’s parents are RIDICULOUSLY deep sleepers, since he clearly went out the front door in order to follow the “Kipsneed” and probably closed it shut, too. 4. Not counting the abductor’s body shot towards the end, we never really see any other PHYSICAL characters, apart from Caleb and the Kipsneed, thus ensuring the vacuum effect that most analog horror seems to work best with: it’s just you and the monster, no one else is there to help or aide you… 5. Something about the lighting effects and the texture of the modeling clay used for Caleb and the Kipsneed really work well together to convey a visual sense of unease with how smooth and shiny everything looks at times, especially since much of the short takes place at night. 6. Caleb’s age is probably one of the most important and telling details in regards to the story’s shock factor: an older child, or one more aware of how the world works, would’ve known something was up at a certain point, and maybe even attempt to escape or fight back. But of course, a six-year-old wouldn’t know such things outside of maybe not talking to strangers. That’s probably how the abductor was able to deceive Caleb so well and trick him into following him. And because someone so young would naturally be enticed by a colorful toy-like creature, it worked out TOO well to the abductor’s advantage…. PHENOMENAL job and massive kudos to Brandon and Richard for their work here!
I love how almost real this feels, like a PSA you’d see as a kid that’ll scare you for weeks without end and think it actually happened but really it’s just your mind messing with you, I’m a sucker for those kinds of horror videos
Absolutely amazing. Needs more views. I loved every second. I was so distracted by how cute and innocent it looked that I forgot it was a horror film. making the horror aspects that much stronger.

Especially the stalking to explain how they knew that kid's name
Not just that, I think the stalker is also stalking other children. Sense the stalker said to the little boy that "I know all of the boys and girls around the world, including their parents."
This could imply that the stalker has been stalking other children and/or maybe only said that to the boy to gain his trust.

Yeah, I’m more creeped out by your story than I was the video.
This is actually horrifying

Maybe he's feet were cut to keep him from getting away
and forward-facing eyes mean it's a predator!
Caleb is definitely dead no way a child is surviving the blood loss trauma and pain from getting legs removed I think the killer knocked out cut him up and ate him since no other body part was found then left the legs behind to leave a trail for the police
this fairy fairy Person is an infamous serial killer he travels across the world to find children then leaves their legs behind for the police as a symbolic sign of completely taking away their chances of ever escaping
My brother helped me make this observation! In the beginning of the video, it says “Once upon a star, there LIVED a boy named Kailyn. He WAS a happy little tot of six years old” This infers that Kailyn isn’t alive anymore.
There are also foreshadowing at the beginning :
Before caleb trips on the branches and broke his camera
He was looking BEHIND him
The "fairy" know that caleb's camera is broken, which means that he's been stalking caleb through the beginning
I hate how the sleep fairy looks so much like the dolphin man its so weird and a spookie dookie at the same time

5:40 gave me the absolute chills. That part is terrifying, I don't know why, but I absolutely love it.
It's so creepy! That means the fairy is a more of a demon luring kids to their demise. Such a great detail of the world building. But also so messed up. I loved it!
I’m still wondering if it’s meant to be a costume or a puppet, or maybe the kidnapper has both
The way it’s reaching up towards Caleb is so eerie
It's probably a puppet the guy is using to lure the kid which I believe to be miles better than having it be some 'real' monster like in every analog horror video ever.

i love the cipsneed’s design, it’s uncanny and freaky enough to be scary yet brightly colored and expressive enough to resemble a children’s mascot that was genuinely intended to be endearing
100% agreed, especially since it looks like it's beckoning the kid down the stairs

One of the scariest parts is that the “fairy” knows everything about all of Caleb’s friends. Even if he really doesn’t, it still implies Caleb isn’t the only child he’s seen/approached.
Yes, I noticed that too!
True, but then again he probably just said that to gain the kid's trust.

I like how this video doesn't have any screamers nor any jumpscares..... just pure reality
I was afraid if the cipsneed was gonna become something very terrifying and then there was gonna be a jump scare.
The part at 5:42 is so utterly terrifying just Cipsneed reaching his arms towards Caleb when walking downstairs to the basement and yet the music starts to get intense.
Is he still using the cipsneed to lure him? It looked like the puppet was just thrown on the floor
@Gtag132 I didn't see it the first time but after reading that I saw it and my dad looked at me like I lost my mind
He looked at me bc I laughed
That’s what that was, the arm behind him made it look like he was flipping the camera off 😂 thought it was an “Aha, got you sucker!” kinda moment
Explanation:
The kipsneed/ sleep fairy was a puppet that was used to lure Caleb into an abandond home, where the man (who I assume was stalking Caleb, as he knew his name and knew that he hadn't really been sleeping for the past few days). The stalker was probably either on the roof dangling it down or holding it up in front of the window. It's also possible that it was a costume, but since we see both it and the killer in pictures taken pretty close together, it's less likely. The man then kills Kaleb and dismembers him. They found only the legs
Where was the killer shown?

2:48 God that line is so creepy to think about, “Would a stranger know your name?”
Really impressive work!
Stole the words from my mouth
Kipsneed*
Kip is british slang for a nap, or sleep in general.
It’s noticed he’s saying kidsneeds which is a type of camera to watch over your children when first born
Finally, an “analog horror” video that’s actually convincing and effective. Please keep making these
"Hello there, young lad!" greeted the creature, "I'm the Kipsneed! I'm your sleep fair-"
It never got to finish as Cailen promptly smashed his fist into the creature's smiling yellow maw and shattered every bone.

There definitely was a feeling of boundaries broken when he reached that hand in the window

This is well made. It’s scary and sad at the same time. Kids should also learn the lesson of “just because someone you aren’t familiar with knows your name, doesn’t mean they aren’t a stranger” this also reminds me of those chilling commercials that they had on tv back in the 70s
If I saw this, I'd be traumatized
Since everyone else is doing it, here’s a handful of interesting details I wanted to point out:
1. The narrator (Fantastic job, Richard Stibbard!) has the perfect tone and diction for this kind of story: calm, rich timbre, and the accent has a nice touch of “friendly uncle” to it. (I personally thought Richard was from Northern England because of the accent, but turns out he’s from Cheltenham, near Gloucester!)
4. Not counting the abductor’s body shot towards the end, we never really see any other PHYSICAL characters, apart from Caleb and the Kipsneed, thus ensuring the vacuum effect that most analog horror seems to work best with: it’s just you and the monster, no one else is there to help or aide you…
