We are on day 45 of a 59 day Adventure Caravans Tour of the Canadian Gaspe Peninsula and Atlantic Provinces in our 2018 Tiffin Allegro RED. Today we toured the L’anse aux Meadows historic site in Newfoundland, where the Vikings established a trading base 1000 years ago that lasted 10 years before they abandoned it. It is a Parcs Canada national site. When we were leaving, we spotted a Grech Strada Ion AWD in the parking lot, the first Grech Strada Ion we’ve ever seen in the wild! It had Maine, USA, license plates. Can’t wait to get our Strada Ion next year.
It's nice you enjoyed your time at the Frontier Village. We live near Jamestown. Kuchen is something I grew up loving and eating. My mother made the best ones. I, too, have made them and while they aren't as good as hers, they are pretty good. The crust is similar to a bread dough. There is no cream cheese in kuchen. It is a custard made from sweet cream, sugar, and eggs. We like ours topped with small pieces of fruit like, peaches, raspberries, or rhubarb.
Kuchen is a custard base also using cottage cheese in many. I love the peach kuchen. I make it myself just like I make rosettes, lefse, caramel rolls, krumkake etc. A lot u don't see anywhere else or not often!
We are addicted to your channel! Thanks for all the fine work!! Getting ready to purchase the same van , feel like I know the van from the inside out already!! Would like a video on the working of the vans spider control . Come visit southwest Va sometime
So glad you’re enjoying the videos! An early congrats on your new Grech! What did you mean by spider control? Love Virginia and we would love to meet y’all sometime! 👍🏻😊🤓
Thanks for this informative good video. Yall are so fortunate to have your van and be able to work in Iowa and visit older relatives in North Dakota. Keep up the good work! 😊
I absolutely love this channel. Marking another destination on my places to go because of your videos. I was in Yellowstone last month because i watched your trip there and followed your advice. I loved it and appreciated your advice and experience. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing another excellent adventure. A trio of “world’s largest” this week and local history. Looking forward to the national park. Plenty of bison there for your viewing pleasure. Stay safe, stay well. See ya next week.
Bryan another great video. I love the information on the history. I’m writing down these places for our future travels. We like the offbeat quirky stuff like the big cow.
Hey Brian and Michelle, always love the videos. Just FYI on Dickey’s BBQ. They started years ago in Dallas and well known for great food when original owners had it. They were bought out and franchised. Food is horrible compared to original. My wife and I loved it back in the day. But we won’t eat at these new ones.
Welcome to North Dakota, you should drive west on highway 200 when you get to Beulah and go through the roundabout continue west and about 3 to 4 miles look north and you will see the largest coal dragline in North Dakota, ran completely on electric power
You two packed a lot into this weeks video! So sad the Albino Bison died at such a young age. I love those little replica towns. We have one here in Dallas,Tx. The Cow...LOLOLO
just saw your latest video. we were there in 2021. its cool to see the same places we went to. The campground outside of Roosevelt National Park is where we camped and picked up a hitchhiker, a baby kitten. She rode with us for over 300 miles before we could get her out from under the truck. Safe travels
We mainly use a car wash and once in a while a truck wash but always make sure to tell them not to use chemicals such as hydrofluoric acid, which can react with chrome and aluminum to cause corrosion and pitting.
I was bee bopping to the open song lol. The bison museum and frontier town looks like some place I would like to see, guess I’ll add it to my bucket list ( that seems to be getting longer everyday lol). Michelle were you trying to clean that bisons nose?? 😂 when Brian walked under the bison and Michelle went under the cow, I lost it!! 😂😂 $42 for bbq and $45 for one night stay, you guys will have to be doing a bunch of boondocking to make up for it 😂. Stay safe! Safe travels!!
Not well travelled (yet) from Missouri, so it was neat to see your video of Jamestown where we stopped in a few years ago when visiting our son in Bismarck! Itching to get on the road again in 2025 after we sold our Class C last year.
Great video. I visited Jamestown way back in 2009. Spent 10 days traveling through the state. Next time you travel to North Dakota you should visit the International Peace Garden in Northern North Dakota.
Yeah, we notice a lot that we have to pass up, so we have to pick what we have time for. One day when traveling isn’t part of our business and we can move slower with no commitments, we’ll do more stopping and go slower. Sometimes we hit these places on our next time around too, but it’s hard to say when we’ll be back to ND.
Come on down to sw OkieLand Dogg and I will take hiking with the Buffalo down here. The Wichita miuntains is the first Buffalo protection area in the USA.
Hi, first thing, I love your channel. My wife and I ordered a new Strada at the Hershey show. We love to go hiking and ride biking. I have watched most of your videos but noticed you no longer take your bikes with you. Is it a pain to have them back there? Is there any rack that you could recommend that doesn't interfere as much with sensors and cameras? Thanks for your suggestions and all the great videos.
Hello, first off, congratulations on your new Strada. Actually, we haven’t had the bikes on the back of the van for almost 2 years now. We had them on the back for the first year. You may have missed quite a few episodes. 😉 We even had a video that talked about the bike rack we used and preferred for our two e-bikes. They are from a company called 1up USA. I’d recommend telling them what bikes you have and they can help you with the correct rack for your bikes. 👍🏻
My husband and I are from North Idaho and went as far as Bismarck, did not go to Jamestown. Enjoyed Medora and Teddy Roosevelt National Park. Spent a week in Bismarck and went on the keelboat cruise.
Fun video! Bev was wondering why Sue’s utters weren’t pink. Yeah her brain works that way. 😅 Can’t wait until we get to see the Worlds Largest Ball of Twine!
Hi Love following your channel, we meet you in Tampa last year. What I was wondering when you are at a campground and take off for the day is how do you save your sure so someone else doesn't pull on to it? We lost a come we had on our spot someone just came and took the cone, we did still have the spot but liked my collapsible come I had. We have a new Roadtrek headed to the 50th year Rally today in Canada
If you reserve a certain spot at a campground and the campground has you assigned to that spot, nobody else should get assigned to it. We had a cone stolen once a couple years ago so we stopped putting it out. We have not had anyone steal our site yet, but we do worry about someone doing it even though we have the site reserved. We always tell a campground that we come and go since we have a van and sometimes they give us a reserved sign to put on the pedestal. For the most part though, an assigned site will not be assigned to someone else when you have it reserved.
Because we eventually found that it was just much more easier (especially for Michelle) to utilize campgrounds or stop at night while traveling to fill up with fuel and do our showers then. Plus we don’t use up our fresh tank as much and slows down the frequency of how often we need to empty the gray. So we just found it better for us. We have heard others found it the same for them as well, but it doesn’t mean it does for everyone. You just have to figure out what works best for you. It’s nice to be able to have it for certain situations, like if we are out hiking and hiking n a rush to meet someone for dinner directly after, then we can use the van shower or just do a quick clean up. Either way, it is still nice to have.
Bisons I was not born in America I was born in a small island in Pacific Ocean 😅 there was no TV station until early 60s and most of the show was Americans western shows and some of the show has Indian attacking the wagon 😅 and bisons will be in the backgrounds 😅 the island only has one TV station because of that the TV industry is developed like in America so it shows are most popular in America shows like bewitched, get smart, bonanza, Hawaii five o😅 that show was really popular in the island and one year when my family was flying to America and we have a stopover in Hawaii to refuel the plane my dad and I were in the waiting room waiting and there was a policeman in there my dad asked is he from the five O policemen just smiled and shook his head my dad said macgaritt policeman just laughed and said that is just a TV show of course my dad knows it's a show but he just wants to joke with the police officer with it 😅
We were watching your new video and I couldn't believe it! We are in Custer South Dakota for the summer and we drove up to Rapid and ate at Pizza Ranch! Not only that, but we wanted to explore a place called Dakota Butcher in Rapid City and after spending an hour in there browsing in awwe, a lady that worked there said you have to try this German pie called a Kuchen! Never heard of it before! Bought one, a caramel apple and it was very good!sort of like a cheesecake, but lighter. The crust reminded me of the flavor of a Chinese fortune cookie! The Kuchen is the crust, filled with various things! Wow! Coincidentally??
Ya think those were big animals. You should have seen the boar and bull at the Iowa fair this year! Never been to North Dakota, thanks for the interesting sites. We have not been to a Dickeys in a long time, prices sure go up. Safe travels.🥸😎🤓
There was a white buffalo calf seen in Yellowstone National Park in June of this year. There were pictures taken of it but it has not been seen since.
Thanks for stopping in Jamestown! glad you enjoyed our buffalo!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA your subtle sense of humor cracks me up...
Love following you guys on your trips. History and travel are my favorites.

What did you mean by spider control?
Love Virginia and we would love to meet y’all sometime! 👍🏻😊🤓
The box that controls the
function of the van. Always heard it called the “spider control “.
The control module aka brain box?
Another fun vlog - thanks so much!! “Those were good” made me laugh!!! $48 is a LOT!
When I use to truck drive. I use to keep a bathroom cleaning kit.
Thanks for this informative good video.

Michelle, the best pie in ND is at the cafe in Tower City, on the interstate, east of Jamestown.
Good to know! 🧡🤓
Great video once again. Can't go wrong with 3 giant animals and new cake. Seriously, we love your videos. Thanks for sharing your travels!

There’s always a buyout and ruin the business story.

We are long gone from ND now though.
That was very interesting, enjoyed very much❤ thanks for sharing

😮 so glad it made it through that long trip!
She is a big momma!
Yep, I saw that upward look. LOL. I need some ice cream and maybe even pie. N. Dakota was well covered.
We need a video of how you keep the exterior of the van clean.
We mainly use a car wash and once in a while a truck wash but always make sure to tell them not to use chemicals such as hydrofluoric acid, which can react with chrome and aluminum to cause corrosion and pitting.
Another utterly good video…I can say that can’t I?
😂 👍🏻

You missed a really cool museum in Dickinson. Its a dinosaur museum and its so much more.
Yeah, we notice a lot that we have to pass up, so we have to pick what we have time for.

Fun video!

Thanks guy's 😢
😊❤😊
Rooms at that campground/hotel were around $150!
That figures, being so close to the NP
Dickey's is the McD of BBQ... as long as your expectations are for fast food quality BBQ. it is ok.
You ran into the oil business. Campgrounds, hotels and rental cars, are more expensive in ND because of the transient oil field workers.

Does your Grech have 2 wheel drive?
Yes
Ok, spill the beans. How do you eat so many sweets and stay thin?
Must be moderation and fasting 🤓
I’m sure you answered this already but what’s the reason you don’t use your shower in the van?
Because we eventually found that it was just much more easier (especially for Michelle) to utilize campgrounds or stop at night while traveling to fill up with fuel and do our showers then. Did you say building permit? What’s up
Filming permit

A lot of big things to see way up there in the Nort. 😂 Don't pet the furry cows. 😂

@peanut2339 what a coincidence! We sure wish we could have met y’all! We’re long gone from that area now though. 😢
Brian how many times "utterly" was said?
Utterly…2 or 3 😬
Actually looked and correct term is firefly. Sorry
Not sure what you’re referring to. Sorry
if the Native Americans could of quest their future they wouldnt of been freindly and help the white Man
