I sincerely admire that you Brit’s preserve your heritage so much. Including your cemeteries. We have a vast amount of space in Australia but some of our cemeteries feel the need for ‘renewal’ which basically means they are selling the space between graves. You may think it’s not so bad but the desecration and removal of graves stones is deplorable. Some are placed in another section , a lot are destroyed as there is no family to save them.

Stokesay Castle was fantastic and I loved your casual remark, when showing us the basement, that the age was about 1080. That is incredible and I had to pause the video and just absorb that fact and look at every piece of wood and imagine what people were doing nearly 1,000 years ago. I doubt if houses built today would last that long. The Manor house was really special too. Thank you for your upload.

Brockhampton Manor is so special! It has so much history- imagine if it could reveal what it's seen throughout all those centuries. Just from looking at the video and never being inside it gives me a sense that it has a warm, inviting atmosphere.

I've always had a strong connection with the medieval period more than any other. These homes, in particular the last one, were amazing. Even watching it on TH-cam, you could feel the history wash over you.

I live in ENGLAND and I've also got a penchant for the MEDIEVAL TIMES i can trace my ancestry back to them times so maybe that's why i like that era so much. But they were brutal times to live in though so i certainly don't envy them there..

I would love to see your farmhouse, it must be amazing to renovate. In the US where I am from anything over like 50 yrs old, people think is ancient, we always tear things down, which I hate. I am on the coast of Maine and love old time charm, with flowers everywhere and my stonewalls that I have built. Nothing like the UK, but enough to give me that feeling. Enjoy your farmhouse, what stories it could tell...!

Because it seemed so strange to me that a wool merchant would have a license to crenelate I had to go look up Stokesay
Castle. There was an earlier Norman Castle on the property built by the de Lacy family, whose distaff heirs still held the property when Lawrence of Ludlow was resident. His wife was a cousin of those heirs, and was herself an illegitimate descendant of Henry II. Lawrence was a money lender as well as a wool merchant, and had lent quite a bit of money to Edward I, from whom he received a license to crenelate in 1291. It looks like the money and the family connection and perhaps the history of the property combined to give him the standing to receive a license to crenelate, something that, from my understanding, was quite rarely granted to those who weren’t ennobled.

Spectacularly gorgeous countryside! Beautiful buildings. I loved the bird song and lambs. The music was perfect. Where I live in the southwest USA, something's way old if it's over 100 years old.

Love the cottage you were staying at. Especially the very tame pheasant! England is so scenic & historic.

I enjoyed this video so much--thanks for posting. I liked the pace, the footage of the area, and you did such a good job capturing the details of the buildings and their history that I'd be most curious about if I were there. You could seriously go professional.

So lovely to see Stokesay Castle again. When I lived in Mid Wales, it was one of my favourite places to take my children and all the many visitors we had. Just magical.

Very nice tour. You chose nice background music. Both places are amazing. I’ve been in love with England since I was a girl, and I have been to the UK half a dozen times. Hopefully when I come back I’ll put those properties on my list. I was curious about the age if the linen fold walls and what era they were done. They look 16th century.

Never been to England. So this is a treat. I could live in such a beautiful place. Thanks for the great videos, editing, and gracing your amazing filming with equally impressive and complementary music.

Hello, just stumbled upon your films. Loved every bit. I really like your calm tones describing the place, and the slow movement as you film everything. I’m off to enjoy some more now as another fan of your charming films, thank you so much. I’m unable to get about as I used to in the past and it’s very lovely to accompany you and your family on your travels from my armchair. 💐
