@@Woodsmanhuntingfishing I'm in the U.S. and have no idea what "meths" is, can you enlighen me so I can find it here? An installer recommended denatured alchohol instead of tissue paper for lighting but while the alcohol burned it did not ignite the diesel. Still seeking a way to light my Dickinson without throwing in burning toilet paper.
Its a pink liquid & a gentle clean burning fuel, not explosive like petrol or white spirits, you can fill a cup with meth & light it, only the top will have a flame and it will slowly burn like that till all the liquid has gone,,
2,000 there about, you can import one of the Dickinson web site, just look up Dickinson diesel fires or as i did, got mine from there NZ base shop in Wellington
very neat, there's a few video's on you tube with people burning used engine oil instead
I like the video thanks for making it
When you initially light it...Can you see the diesel at the bottom of the burner pot (1-2 teaspoons) or is it hidden by the burner ring?
It is kinda hidden but get a torch and on the right angle and yes you can see it in the bottom,
What is the fluid mixture that you use in the squirt bottle?
Its in the video i think but any way i make a 50/50 mix of diesel & meths, doesn't have to be exacted,, bloody good heaters,,
