    Well, hello everyone, slowly we are getting back with our vlogs. We have done a lot and you wouldn't believe it but we - or better said Gerben - managed to do a DIY installation of our WEBASTO heating system.
    YESSSS not boat yard - not what we normally do, but this shows that most of us can install a system like this 😎
    Thanks for joining us again, next week winter sailing (yes we know it is spring and everyone enjoys the white beaches and turquoise warm weather sailing, but it is the first time sailing with Eleanora - a special one)
    Love,
    Rianne
    PS For the special podcast we recorded, follow this link:

    -----
    Little background of the podcast episode:
    Ever wondered how life would be as a start-up founder? Or more importantly how you make the impossible possible?
    You get a glimpse in our most recent podcast episode.
    Join me in an interview of Gerben about his start-endeavor of buying out seed investors and making a deal that was well challenging.
    To be honest challenging is a huge understatement.
    Gerben needed to raise 1.2 mio in just 6 months.
    If you are an entrepreneur or thinking about stepping into the entrepreneurial arena, big or small, this is a must-listen!
    And if you think why is this if any importance to me?
    Well this podcast is about so much more then buying out seed investors.
    It is about having a mindset to make the impossible possible, and that mindset is one anyone can use.
    As we all have desires or dreams that we maybe not dare to dream, but what if we did, and what if we were 10x more courageous, and what if we had a mindset that we just had absolute certainty that we would be able to do it, even though we had no clue about the how?
    That is what this podcast episode in essence is about.
    Plus we touch upon the investor scene, masculine energy, ego-driven negotiations, and emotional maturity.

    Installation for Dummies! Love it. I would've just cried! But you know me - I would have started at the beginning and kept going, tears and all. I am SO very happy you are back on the Tube, and it is such a delight to see Eleanora's face and how Benjamin is growing. Keep on keeping on. Sending love and sunshine. xxx

    I agree with your choice. The one tip that I can give you is, if your are installing the heater unit in a small area, use the heater air intake to cool the space where the heater itself is. I have 2 mufflers in a row on my Eberspacher (same) type of system keeps noise down. Also the water hoses from and to the unit should be isolated from the hull by suspending with rubber. The reason is that the hydraulic noise created by the coolant circulation pump transmit noise to the boat hull.

    I thought let’s check out your podcast. I normally don’t like the podcast set up but then listening for 10 minutes wouldn’t hurt. #008 all the way to the end .. so much to recognise. Great I can advice anyone with little business experience to listen and consider.

      Yes quite a task but very fun to do and always good to know all the details of a new system onboard so when things go wrong you understand the systems, especially in remote places like Patagonia 😂

    Bonjours vous quatre. Très heureux de vous retrouver. Votre projet de voyage en Patagonie est magnifique et le choix du système de chauffage Webasto est judicieux. Je connais très bien ce système pour l'avoir utilisé pendant des années ( j'étais routier international ) c'est un système très efficasse et très fiable. Bonne continuation. Amitiés du sud de la France. Olivier.

    Just had a baby and now off to Patagonia you two are brave, are you going to New York on you're way for your life's dream ? If you get time go to the Falkland Islands and let Benjamin see the Rockhopper Penquinn's he'll love them and have a British pint in the Victory Pub there's usually some Royal Marines in there off duty of course. During WW2 my late Grandfather was in the Famed British Army Commandos he worked with the Free Dutch Commandos so you may as well have a drink with the modern day equivalent.

    get a CO meter for safety - the heater hot air pipe can rust and leak and on a fault the CO and smoke can also come out of the heater inlet air pipe - also when running properly they produce very little CO and burn with little smoke - smoke means incomplete combustion due to excess fuel or carbon blocking the burn chamber etc - I am sure webasto advises running it on high for 15-20 minutes before turning off to burn off any carbon - well done

    • @FeeltheBreeze
      @FeeltheBreeze  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Jim for the great advice. We installed some CO alarms and run the heater as advised by Webasto to avoid any problems.

  • @waltervanderboor

    Great decision we have one although slightly different from yours but with -20 outside we kept the temp easily at +20 inside. It’s a great way of heating but consider extra isolation inside cabinets. We actually put isolation and carpet on our floor. ( which we threw out in the tropics)

    • @FeeltheBreeze
      @FeeltheBreeze  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, yes the next step will be isolating, how did you isolate the cabins? Seems you had an amazing trip from
      -20 to the tropics 😍

  • @BillyNewport-ez2vn
    @BillyNewport-ez2vn ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Make sure you can remove and reinstall it easily. You need to clean the burner every 1500 hours or so or else the burner cokes up and that gets expensive.

      @@FeeltheBreeze I am Chilean, I normally sail south of Puerto Montt. It is by far the most beautiful area in Chile. You can only navigate in summer. The extreme south (South of the Gulf of Penas) even in summer is hard navigation, with many storms, in that area you have to take 4 long ropes that float to moor the boat to the trees or rocks on the shore, you need 4 , one for each corner of the boat. It is not uncommon to have them wait a week or so waiting for the storm to end. Any questions you have let me know.
