That’s looks awesome dang I like that a lot. Maybe rear spring rate needs softened or tires hard? I’m not judging. I did this last year idk September October maybe through the new year built my rock pirate interceptor chassis scx10ii based. It’s fun but I have this toyzuki chassis v2 I think I want to take my 4ws Capra axles shafts and links to transfer. But then I drive my Capra and don’t want to do that. It’s like a good Mexican restaurant so many choices.

If you have a chance to try some class 1 tires on those portals, then try them before changing your rig …soft inserts (Proline Class1 inserts are way too big), and no dual stage…you will be surprised 😉
Class 1 tires eh? I’ve never driven those. Haha that would look so weird on this rig

My rig is straight axle, which I think it was designed for and think if it was on portals it wouldn’t perform the same
Yeah that’s what I’m thinking. I know the design of the chassis runs straights too

I agree with you. I started a build for a c1 and the more i worked on it the more i realized that I’m not a c1 guy so i sold the chassis kept my axles, motor and trans. I will be building a coyote chassis on ar45p with a bta mount. I’m not really a portal guy but will see. If I don’t like them i will be going straight axle as well.
Haha dude I traded for a 10iii gladiator thinking I’d like the scale stuff, but really I wasn’t about it. They look sick, but performance is definitely my preference. A coyote chassis will be sick. I’ll build one of those at some point too.
Hopefully you like the portals. I’m kicking myself for not just starting with f10s
Been following your channel for awhile now. Awesome rig you built and I am sure with the changes it will perform as good. If you’re going to run straight axels check out the dlux od3 trans great little transmission with over drive.
If you get rid of those capra axels please let me know.

Zak, amazing rig, you have there. I'm in the process of getting parts to do my ground up build. I went with Rock Pirates chassis and F9 axles and no rear steer. Will take months to finish. Stay safe, my friend.
Slow is smooth! Why did you choose F9 over F10? I’m super unfamiliar with vanquish!
@HobbyDrop f9 are what came on the Capra stock Axial Housing already had as backups for my Capra and had no problems with them. I'm not sure what transmission I will be going with. 3 gear 3 gear vanquish or a portal trans.
Show use your work bench and how you modify things.

From my experience, all the overdrive is killing the performance. To much wheel slip. If all four wheels are matched in rotation, you will maximize traction. Small amount ok but not 40 percent. Looking forward to more. Thanks for sharing.
Overdrive will throw off traction a little on side hills. But it should help with uphill climbs. I believe I’ve got….20 or 30….percent

What makes this car not legal for class 3
For our areas comps specifically. Idk about other comps. But it’s not legal because the chassis is too short in relation to the wheelbase

@@HobbyDrop thats sweet ! i was wondering if you planned on doing any more midi scale stuff cause i recently built a 1/24th scale truck and cashed out and it pretty much destroys anything you put in front of it 👌
