Wim, If you're listening, can you please advise? So a guy had me in a "Danaher" seat belt (he called it, a gable grip kind of thing) that was super annoying to try this move on. I don't know what it is exactly or what I was doing wrong but it made me come back and watch this video and search around for a solution with no luck. Please advise what I should do with this big knuckle looking gable grip. I noticed it becomes very weak when I pull it down with a hand to get my chin into my shoulder but there is very little space there when I drop 25:42 .
Wim thank you so much for sharing. TBH I used to dismiss the mirroring principle but lately I am really enjoying your content and have starting implementing many things into my game. About the single under pass or the fireman pass, I've found that it works great against jiu jitsu guys but against high level wrestlers they start to sit up and work the wrestling switch or look for reversals using body locks or crotch locks. I'm not sure if you've encounter this, if so how do you deal with it? Thanks again, really appreciate the content!
Hey Guillaume! Thanks a lot for your message man 😊 I takes a while of playing with the mirroring before it starts to make sense. Timing is very important. In general, everything with (high level) wrestlers is harder because they never accept bottom. That is the most important thing BJJ people should pick up from wrestler. I can give a few hints that would work, but for an actual fix, I would have to see or feel you roll. 1). Always keep (rotational) pressure 2). Don't focus on putting guy down 3). Focus on control, inhibiting movement and wearing him out 4). Controlling the feet / low singles, seem to work best in general and also with wrestlers. It always will be harder though. The average wrestler understands better than the average BJJ player how the body moves I think.
Van zo up to date te blijven .

Can you email me a picture or video of the exact grip / situation?
