A heads up. If you have subtitles on you'll see it's Other Saga saying the another white asshole line. So it would seem that Sagas negative thoughts, doubts, and insecurities manifested that statement not the Saga we play.
You are 100 percent right. And the cop thing happens when they are becoming taken. I was more focused on the way the lines failed to fit in with the rest of what was going on in the plot. But yeah these are particularly negative versions of all of these characters. Thanks for pointing that out. Thanks for watching!
@@digitalhauntology I honestly interpreted the deputee's comment to be about "city folk" or "outsiders" then their race, since they started the line complaining about "These Government motherfuckers" but I suppose racism is another way to color that dialogue, if you wanted.
I'm gonna have to wait to watch this one for a minute cause I'm gonna play this one soon but I'll just leave this comment saying keep up the good work man. And they also released a 30 minute version of herald of darkness my Spotify is in shambles.
I think that’s fair haha. Melanie Liburd is British. And then Saga’s mom is Swedish, so I kinda ignored the accent haha. It ain’t perfect, but it never distracted me the way that something like Heavy Rain could at times. Thank you for watching!
@@digitalhauntology yeah it just felt so weird when the quality of the game was so good in every way except in this case the voice actor couldn't get down the American accent, it was distracting for me but it ended there, it didn't effect my rating of the game as a whole it was just slightly odd. And if course I really enjoyed your thoughts and editing!
It’s always weird how it’s the little things that can really get to you over time haha. I’ve definitely played games where one small design choice or voice actor irked me throughout, so I get where you are coming from. A Finnish team trying to get a British actress to nail an American accent, might have just been on too many hoops to jump through. I really appreciate the kind words. Always trying to learn with each video. Glad you enjoyed it.
When you played the part about "another white man..." I clenched instinctively, being a woman of color...you know what I mean...I DO agree though, full stop. It stuck out. Like you said, just one scene of that happening to her would've made the whole line better.
Haha, I totally understand. You never quite know how those kinds of conversations are going to go nowadays. But this channel is inclusive and I try my best to talk through social issues with as much nuance as possible. It was just a strange scene, but I used it as a jumping off point to dispel some of the worst criticisms of the game that I had been reading on the internet. Thanks for checking out the video, and everyone is welcome here.
As someone else pointed out, Saga's line is coming from her echo, the second voice that's trying to beat her down and keep her trapped in her own mind so the dark place can feed off of those negative thoughts. I think we've all secretly harbored those thoughts. I'm not talking about specifically racial issues, but that feeling of mounting resentment and presumption of motivation. These thoughts are rarely true, as we don't have insights into how people think, or why certain things are done. That's just my interpretation, anyway, and personally I'm glad they didn't do more than hint at it. Nothing kills my enjoyment of a story like the shoe-horning of politically charged rhetoric, derailing the narrative in the hope of farming some cheap engagement. If the story is about that kind of thing, great, but otherwise, why include it?
Theres 1 problem here alan cant make large scale thing's happen without the clicker. The most he could do in control was latch on to the hiss invasion he literally could not start it. And even when sagas daughter gets involved until scratch got the clicker she and her dad would have be perfectly fine. Alan was 100 percent limited to the area around watery and cauldron lake. And the only reason alan could effect anything in control is because within the oldest house is the oceanview motel which is directly connected to the oceanview hotel which is in the dark place.
First, thanks for the kind words. And as far as the neo-gamergate stuff goes. I understand your perspective, but this channel does have a political bent to it. It’s Digital Hauntology after all. I’m a self admitted leftist, and art is a black mirror to the society that creates it. I don’t bring this kind of analysis to everything I cover, but if there is a particular discourse surrounding a title- I’m always down to dive in and explore it. And I’d be happy to never have to talk about gamergate ever again, but history has a way of repeating itself. Thank you for your thoughts. Glad to have you here. Hope that stuff doesn’t overshadow the stuff that you like about the channel.
Hahaha, I couldn't disagree more. I love the way that this game blends it into gameplay and the direction is next level compared to the old school Command and Conquer cutscenes. But to each their own. Thank you for watching!

@@digitalhauntology Hell yeah! Great vid definitely going to take a look at the rest of your remedy retrospective!
I really appreciate it.
That’s awesome.
Hope you enjoy the other videos!

It's more so tye dark presence turning her against alan. It did the same with the 2 deputies
Most reasonable take on the sweet baby inc situation I've heard so far. Great video
I appreciate it.
I tried to have a nuanced take on the matter.
Thank you for watching!
I felt Saga being black actually made sense since Hatch was Black in Quantum Break and Door is his echo / double whatever.
Yeah, it made sense to me too.
I’ve just seen some people complaining online, that’s why I brought it up.
Thank you for watching.
Also she was barely a character before
I'm gonna have to wait to watch this one for a minute cause I'm gonna play this one soon but I'll just leave this comment saying keep up the good work man. And they also released a 30 minute version of herald of darkness my Spotify is in shambles.
Makes sense.
I hope you enjoy the game. Thanks for the support 🙏🏼
That song is the gift that keeps on giving.
My only critique of this game is sagas voice actor, she sounds weirdly British when she's supposed to be a Virginian
I think that’s fair haha.
Melanie Liburd is British.
And then Saga’s mom is Swedish, so I kinda ignored the accent haha.
It ain’t perfect, but it never distracted me the way that something like Heavy Rain could at times.

True that British is weird but it didn't annoy me at all
Yes. It was very distracting, but I enjoyed her otherwise.
Great video and discussion on the sweet baby inc stuff.
Thank you. It’s really appreciated
I’m glad you dug it. Thanks for checking out the channel.
It's time 🤘🏻
Your Remedy retrospective was a masterclass overall. Congratulations 🎉
Thanks man, still learning.
Appreciate the support.
Congrats on the recent success of your channel.

@BlastMagicianYGO it literally is this it's the dark presence trying to turn her against wake.

Love your videos, but you should stop mentioning dumbass gamergate type shit and giving it creedence in my opinion. Doesn’t deserve the time of day

No way
I'm glad this shitty game hasn't made its budget back.
It's not shit for 1 and it totally has. Of your on about the white man line it's literally the dark presence trying to turn saga against alan.
