      @ Not all of them deserve to be considered, IMO games like Max Payne 1, 2… NFS Most Wanted, are some examples of games that deserve to be called ART. I grew up with them and loved them.

    •  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@andermendz what's art? that definition changes from person to person and I don't think we're at a time where (as a general public) we can or should rely on institutions to decide who or what is considered in their very narrow definition. While not all games are groundbreaking, they all involve an artistic process in all areas of their development.

    • @andermendz
      @andermendz ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @ Art for me is greatness in all the aspects of the game, from gameplay to the story and visual aspects, a great example of what you said is the recent AC: Mirage i'm sure that game was involved in several artistic processes, but it's a pretty bad game in my opinion, all games require creative and of course artistic “processes” but at the end it's something that we cannot explain like AC mirage, is not going to be remembered for equivalents like Story telling of MP1 or bullet-time from MP2, Story and gameplay of NFS MW and CARBON, or the atmosphere of S.T.A.L.K.E.R, Return to the Castle Wolfenstein , and the recent (I've been playing it a lot) Alan Wake 2.

In one world there is a Jack Joyce (protagonist of quantum break) in another he is Tim Breaker the sheriff of Bright falls (Alan wake 2). In one world Alan Wake is a writer and in another he is Doctor Darling (control). They are, and they are not.
      There is a reason why remedy casts these same actors in different roles for the different games. They are connected but also they are not. And the one who connects them all and yet keeps them apart all the same is Mr. Door.

      @Sam-vk8xd ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tudorserban111 You’re right on that. Alex Casey is Max Payne in all but name and that’s only because of rights ownership. Although, Remedy has clearly left some doors (Warlin Door, hehehe) open so that maybe some day they can involve these other games into the world. With the whole worlds where he’s seen x thing and y thing happened in Dylan Faden’s (Control) end game dialogues and even Tim Breaker’s (Alan Wake 2) dreams about being someone else somewhere else (clear reference to Quantum Break).
      I really hope Quantum Break’s rights come back to Remedy and they make a sequel and bring it into the Remedy-Verse. Wow what a nice documentary. It’s always fascinating how much effort went into a game. I’m a developer myself because of people like them. I bought Max Payne when I was fresh out of school just now realizing, 23 years later that Sam is Max. Remedy is something special in this business. Keep on

    And this is exactly what most gamers these days need to realize...Just how complex and time consuming it is to create a triple A product that actual plays and feels and looks like a triple A product.
    So when the next time you yell and scream "why is GTA 6 or any next big game taking so long", you really need to think about this vid. My advice to all gamers out there who are waiting for the next "big game" or are disappointed how some games turn out at launch....just go and play some older games meanwhile, expand your taste for other genres. Thats what Ive been doing for the past 15 years and as result I have more games on my backlog than I propably ever have time to play/finish them all and it gives me the freedom to choose from newer games which I really want to play sooner rather than later. For example right now im playing Jagged Alliance 2, game from 1999, still great fun, even though ofc the game is old and looks old and before that I also even played original Jagged Alliance and its spinoff Deadly Games and even managed to enjoy those, and next im ofc gonna play Jagged Alliance 3 that was released this year. Its actually quite interesting/fun to go on a journey to play a game series from beginning to the end, especially when you get to see how the games in the franchise have evolved over the years.
    As for Alan Wake 2, well as much I wish I could support it and go buy/play it right now, I wont....because Im one of those who wants to support physical media to the bitter end for various of reasons...from collecting standpoint to the fact that if some product is only digitally available, it limits consumer choice and one day that game might not be available to purchase anymore due to licensing issues for example. But atleast my huge backlog makes it possible for me to just wait that one day they will release a physical version or if not, then my choice is not to pay full retail price for a digital only game that is still a triple A product. If I were to play games only on PC, then ofc there digital is the only way to go these days, but even there there is for now only 1 place to buy Alan Wake 2 and thats also something Im against, even though I understand ofc that without Epic as the game's publisher and financer, it would not have turned out the way it did.

      Haha no it’s been announced! Here’s a tip - if you really want to get an inside scoop on Control 2 - play Alan Wake 2 (which is sitting at a 92 on Metacritic) because per Sam Lake, Alan Wake 2’s ending will indeed set up the events of Control 2 and tie in Control 1 for the “RCU” 🤙🏽

    I would absolutely love it if some outfit took Remedy on to make a tv show, or even if they did it themselves, their short films were so good, and the last 2 game intros they made are just phenomenal, Control's intro blow most tv show intros out of the water let's not even talk about Alan Wake 2.

    Rarely do we get a genuinely good horror game, Alan wake 2 feels like a love letter to horror fans, the jump scares are corny but aside from that, the tension, the build up leading to certain moment that makes your fingers sweat and heart pound. Its really hard to create that feeling and sustain it throughout the game, never being fully safe and always having to check whats behind you. I hope more game devs look here for inspiration because this game is just a fun horror game

    I like how remedy is starting to use just straight up actors and real sets for cutscenes. I mean if the graphics are so damn good and only to emulate the actors, why not just use the actual scenes that they produce? I totally see their vision and love it all the way. A Remedy game is like a fair ride, you dont lack fun you dont lack difficulty and its never too easy, and all you really gotta do is get in. Once your in, your almost always hooked and it never feels like a chore like alot of games today. The stories become a lifeblood and you always want to see them through

    Alan Wake 2 is so good. I can't wait to see the DLCs they make. I hope they continue to do a lot to add to this amazing creation so we can keep playing it in new ways. I remember the 1st time i saw max Payne covered in gaming magazines. I've been fascinated by this dev team ever since. I love the passion they put into everything. The ability to toss around objects in control, the ability to interact & open anything in max Payne even if it's meaningless. It just makes u feel like you are interacting with the world in such a unique way. I'd love to see what they continue to do. They deserve so much support for them to create anything their heart desires. They've proven their abilities. Their passion. I hope to see more from them. I'd love to see the physics's they included in control, put into the amazing environment of Alan Wake 2. It's such a detailed world. I'd love to mess around with it more. A lot more. I can't get enough of this stuff that they make. I also loved the detective forensic evidence work they did and I'm all for more of that going forward
