All you actually need to do to take off is flip the little lever near your legs and then push the throttle button thingy in and it goes forwards it's great, did a killer flip on my first flight and racked up some real G's, my character almost passed out
Good overall tutorial, I would have expected a full tutorial to go through the entire checklist, for example the flight instruments, instead of just skipping. You're good but a constructive criticism always help make us better. Keep up the good work man. Peace!
hahaha! cell phones interfere with radios???!!! I think not! I have my phone and iPad on when I'm doing my RW flying. They interfere with nothing.... The official C172 POH does not have this on their checklist. The Hobbs meter reading is recorded before you start the engine as it starts recording when you put the battery on. Magneto check: You should only be concerned if the RPM drop is larger than 100RPM or if the engine stops during this check, it is not safe to fly
Tony E the cellphone part was only a joke because it's mentioned in the pre-flight checklist in the description. thanks for the correction on the Hobbs meter and magneto check, I'm still learning!
The cell phone entry does appear in the checklist you provided in the info link. As a pilot I do wonder why the airliners get PAX to turn them off. There really is no reason to do this.
Try adjusting your throttle (black knob) and your mixture (red knob). Too lean of mixture can cause overheating. Too much sustained full throttle constantly can also put a lot of strain on the engine and cause it to overheat.
Thanks for the comment! As you take off in propeller driven aircraft you encounter an effect called torque. This forces your plane to veer left as you move down the runway. You have to compensate for this by pressing on the right rudder just enough so that your plane will go straight. Hopefully this helps!
Get a joystick and the issue is solved! Trust me! I had the same issue when I took off the cessna 172 with mouse and keyboard. Its crap. So I bought a joystick and tried it and its awesome. No more problems like that
ShakeyBalance Got it! Saw the video now better in detail and had my first good take off as well, thanks too you. In FSX it was more simple the pre-flight. But this is way more fun! Thanks for awnsering, subscribed!
Considering going with a new platform. Xplane 11 is all I have for now. Haven't had time to flight sim in quite a while anyhow. Thanks for the comment!
I here yah. I guess I have to do a lot of tweaking 2 x plane. FSX Steam is my go to Simulator. Lockheed Martin Prepar3d 4.2 is Awesome. U will love it. Super smooth. Flight Sim Word is discontinued. I still have it on Steam. It’s awesome 2. But FSW didn’t have a large cult following. Everybody switched to Prepar3d or X Plane. FSX hold its own👍👍👍
If ur flying Airliners or jets ok. Any taildraggers or tricycle aircraft flies like junk. The sailplane is okay but hard to find thermals and ridge lift.

great vid, goes pretty well with the 172S flight manual.
Thanks! :)

Thanks! I appreciate your feedback
I crashed my plane following this tutorial
Did you try unplugging it and plugging it back in?
Same. I tried it and my plane basically turned upside down.
when you make a video have some oomf in your voice and sound energetic but apart from that great tutorial!

you know, if you really hate someone you can take a phone nobody uses and put it hidden in the storage compartment while its on
Temp keeps reaching red once I take off and I get a Low pressure warning, can't figure out how to correct this?

Thank you :)
Fantastic tutorial, thank you!
Thank you for taking time out of your day to watch my video!
How do you check the turn coordinator is working when ur on the ground? Thanks.
What's your pc specs
What controls on the keyboard are to control the rudder?

Is your copy legal?
I think they put in the constant left roll as a form of copy protection

How did you get to see your steering wheel please?
Dennis I only know for X Plane 11, click on the yoke to remove it and click on the black circle it leaves behind to bring it back.

I'm still stuck 400 rpm.
Check out the preflight and starting checklist linked in the description below!
how to take off, i am so confuse man
If you skip to 0:00 there is a well-explained guide for that! thanks for commenting!
X plane fly’s like crap. The scenery is nice but the planes fly horrible
The Cessna Skyhawks on x plane fly like crap. Take off is like so crappy. I stop playing x plane 11 for 2 years. I play fsx fsw pd3. Just feels better

They fly more like the real thing in x-plane, unlike fsx/p3d.
