There are many reasons why a happy ending wouldn’t be possible for the Hero Club without Takashima Yuuna (although the same could be said for other original heroes like Nogi Wakaba). @JamieMieLi The anime/manga didn't outright state that Gyuuki is Takashima Yuuna, but there are strong pieces of evidence that supports this. The strongest evidence is when Gyuuki enveloped Yuuna and Tougo in a cocoon, and then Takashima Yuuna appeared. Another strong evidence is Gyuuki's sakura 5 petal symbol on its body (you can see it here 2:55), which is identical to the symbol on Takashima Yuuna's 5 petal sakura hairpin. Additionally, there's a scene in the end where Yuuki Yuuna said, "Gyuuki, are you..." which implies that Yuuki Yuuna was about to ask, "Gyuuki, are you.. Takashima Yuuna?" because she recognized the connection between the two. Lastly, When TakaYu and YuYu talking to each other, TakaYu mentioned that she is a spirit, while Gyuuki is also a spirit, in English translation they are called Fairy, but in Japanese, they called them "Seirei" which means "Spirit". In your last question, TakaYu simply wanted to talk to YuYu because she didn't want YuYu to suffer anymore so she offered to take the curse instead. It's a typical selfless act from TakaYu.
We now are up to Yuuki Yuuna S3 I think Episode 9 or 10, and we are at the point when the Hero Club searches for Yuuna to stop the Shinkon. And the Sentinels are ready with a canon. I tried to see if there was any correlation between the real world where the Sentinels are and the Forest that the Hero’s are in but I can’t figure it out yet. Oh well time to sit and wait for the S3 to finish

Notice also how Dai-Mankai Yuuna's final punch resembles her own final slash of her battle-axes while screaming out "KONJOU!" I think if you don't blink and miss it you can also kinda see her silhouette overlaying Yuuki's tbh.

I watched this anime a few years back and remember very little about it as soon as I finished watching all of season 1 and 2 I just assumed thats a rap after netflix pulled it and never brought it back but knowing a season 3 is out now doesnt really make me jump for joy I thought season 2 was a good point to end the show on idk maybe I'm wrong but the whole everything is completely fone and happy endings don't always work not to say it should always be depressive just that having stakes and sacrifices are what good stories and fiction are based around
Have you watched season 3 yet? It's more of a gap filler with just about 10 minuets of material in the future and with the story of the Sentinels and Karin, but also the story that plays in the City during this time and teases the start of the whole Hero/Shinju/Taisha story with adapting the vital changing plot of the Nogi Wakaba team with reading her Hero record. It's an absolute interesting idea to explain the whole world building to anime only fans.
Wakaba is the bird (crow or raven), or the bird is both Wakaba and Hinata (both appear at the same time in the "all Heroes/Mikos assemble" scene when the bird arrives, you hear Wakaba's voice in the world where Yuuna is lost). The only other Heroes to reappear outside of the assemble scene are Gin (her weapon) and Takashima, both in season 3 scenes expanding the final battle. The spirits are more than likely manifestations of Shinju's power, and Gyuuki happens to be the strongest one.
