Yuki Yuna is a Hero: Chapter of Washio Sumi (結城友奈は勇者である: 鷲尾すみの章 Yuki Yuna wa Yuusha de aru: Washio Sumi no Shou) is the newest edition to the franchise. It will be the official animation of the novel and has been separated into 3 movies (Friends, Spirit, and Promise), and will then air as a television show. Significant differences will be seen between the animation and the book, and the movies will be slightly different then the anime.

Sonoko is the strongest, at least mentally. She handled going through mankai 20 times, being incapable of doing anything for almost 2 years, without seeing her family and friends, and still accepted her life.
Literally sonochii is the Strongest lf all the Yuushas of Yuuki Team,, she has the power of 21 fairies, all the weapons and abilities of all of them, and the mankai...
Yeah i agree that she is mentally strong specially the last scene where she smiled at washi. She spent 2 years on just reminiscing the past where She, Washi, and Gin are together.

sonoko really is by far the saddest hero, first she lost Gin, then she said to praise wasshi which she later on couldn't, and lost wasshi. Sonoko's story itself makes me want to cry, this song just makes it worse

She's one of the most mentally strongest persons ever and she deserves all the happiness in the world.
Emi Evans has the most wonderful voice and she's good at mixing different language in every lyric.
This scene where nogi sonoko fought to protect her world and her friend was already sad enough due to the fact that she was truly alone in that moment, no longer having her friend and teammate Washio by her side, due to her loss of memory, but with the incorporation of this song in the background, it's a beautiful heart touching scene. I can't imagine how Nogi was feeling.
The moment when she realised her heart already stopped beating. I CRIED.
Second verse can actually apply to Gin.

Now that Yuuki Yuuna season 3 is out and we were able to wtness Nogi's ancestor fight the mega vertex all by herself after Takashima Yuna died, this just shows how strong the Sonoko family is.
The bittersweet end of Washio Sumi, but the beginning of Togo Mimori.
But like a flower in spring, she is eventually made whole once again.
Ughhh I just finished Hero Chapter and when this starts playing as Gin’s spirit appears next to Togo (and everyone joins her) I started full-on ugly crying. THE FEELS. IT HURTS.

Sonoko was thought by Taisha to be the one person who would step in if a Hero goes out of control. There's a bit of dialogue in one of the games where Sonoko tells Taisha officials to go F themselves when they ask her to "bring Fu and Mimori under control", i.e. kill them, especially bringing up Gin's name to try to guilt her into doing it. Not surprising at all that Sonoko would be absolutely livid at the prospect.
"If everyone dies, I'll make sure to say I'm sorry to Mino-san when I see her."
"How can you say that? Gin Minowa gave her life to save us all, you know."
"So you expect me to just ignore what the living Heroes are going through? I don't think so."

I love that one of the core elements of this story is that the heroes are often purely, undeniably *selfish.*
Sonoko was going to let Togo destroy the wall and to hell with humanity, and in the end all of them teamed up to take Yuna back *knowing* it would doom the entire world. In nearly every other series this would be a bad thing, but here it’s actually what saves everyone and I adore it so much, these children said “absolutely not, if this world can only be sustained by sacrificing our loved ones it can go to hell” and *that’s* what convinced the Shinju to use its dying “breaths” to save them all.

The way this struggle prevailed emphasizes the point of the story: a song of praise for humanity and the human nature - to live by their free will, with dignity, to love and be loved. The future that humanity obtained for themselves wouldn't be an easy one, but it was their own future nonetheless, and it was all thanks to our Heroes that never gave up the very core values that made them humans themselves.

Yep, the two soundtracks were in fact done at the same time, since WaSuYu and N:A released within a span of a few months. In fact this track and its arrangement sound _VERY_ similar to various variants of Vague Hope from NieR Automata, it's uncanny.

That final notation reminded me instantly of how Heisoku no Kakudai from End of Evangelion ends. Fitting, as YuYuYu is the true Evangelion of Mahou Shoujo.

That's some hella sketchy and pointless semantics tbh. It's not lost on me how much inspiration Takahiro/Project 2H takes from various Heisei Rider series like Kuuga and maybe Fourze as well, but that doesn't disqualify it from being a magical girl show. Precure also takes from KR/toku and you don't see anyone not calling that a magical girl show.
I can think of only a handful of magical girl shows in the Heisei era that aren't toku-inspired tbh. If its a cast full of girls endowed with supernatural powers fighting like Henshin Heroes, then it's still a magical girl show lol.
