Blakely showed well, but before I pick her for the olympic team she needs to do what she did on night 1 of nationals again on night 2 as well as both nights of trials. Her 2 world championship appearances she showed errors. She has to show she can be consistent and trusted to hit in team finals during 3 up and 3 count. DiCello showed again her consistency and That she could be the 3rd AA and plugged into any apparatus if called upon. Wong did what Wong does. Ms consistency and reliability. On the 2 events she will be on the team for (bars and beams) she did exactly what she needed to to do (probably needs to up her bar difficulty make her more valuable even if not the most difficulty she could do). Carey did vault like expected, showed serviceable bars and beam, but probably needs to start upping her floor difficulty to get her scores much closer to 14.000 Sumanasekera showed she is steady and reliable Rivera was the biggest overall surprise. Ok. How showing consistency over this meet and Trials can definitely tells us that Skye or anyone else for that matter will be consistent in the Team Final? Mind you this is a rhetorical question because there is NO WAY we can predict what someone will do when it is their time and we should not try to either. If Skye comes in at the 2-4th position at Trials she will have most likely met the criteria that the selection committee has set out and that is all she needs do to make the team. As such, what was done or not done by these gymnasts in the past must be given minimal cogitation as it is not really indicative of what they will or will not do in Paris.
She didn’t score a 14.400 on that vault shown lmao. They didn’t event show the correct vault- she stuck her vault cold and scored a 14.400 on Friday at Championships.
Yes indeed. I felt for a bit that she would not do it for AA either but the way she has been constantly performing it I am starting to think it is more than just a possibility but surely no YDP for team.
I will still give Jordan a nudge in front of Kayla for now. She’s been consistent in both meets so far. But, Jordan cannot make any mental mistakes going forward - she has to be 💯.
The team with the highest medalling potential is: Simone, Shilese, Sunisa, Skye and Jade. I agree with your team, except I feel skye is inconsistent, so I think I would switch her out for someone else from your alternative list. Definitely agree Simone, Suni, Shilese and Kayla
Shilese has NEVER broken 14 in international competition on the floor, so it's unlikely she'd score that high at the Olympics. She benefits from overscoring within the USA.
@@helloitslouisx NEITHER Shilese nor Kayla's vault will score that well internationally. None of Shilese's DTY's at the WC scored even close to 14.3 let alone 14.4. MDJDS competed seemingly the most perfect DTY at the WC and the best she got was 14.4. I think the judges here are being delusional and so are some people on here. Only Simone, Skye and Jade will score anywhere 14.4+ on vault internationally.
We have to trust that the judges know what they are doing. Besides, this competition doesn't define whom is making the team, just who they will invite to tryouts,I'm sure Jade will be asked. Only the two top spots get an automatic invite.

While I appreciate this very much! I do! I think focusing on the highest scoring team makes gymnastics a lot less personal and interesting. Also judges are only human and obvs some gymnasts get scored better than others, even for the same mistakes. Fully agree, I think the U.S. focus way too much on the team competition. Gymnastics is mainly an individual sport and the gymnasts compete against each other most of the time. Plus, the team medal is just one to win out of six! Sure, all five team members get a team medal if they succeed, but it counts just as one medal for the U.S.
