Actually, simone had a pep talk with suni after she fell on vault and told her to trust her gymnastics and then offered to stand close to bars for support and suni told her she needed her there. So cute.

I was thinking that the leotards are a bit much! I get it that the ladies may be bored with less glam outfits, but I think that these are OTT. That said, her beam routine was beautiful!

If Suni wants AA, she will have to upgrade floor which is riskier given there's only a month left and she would need to bring back her double double and possibly do 4 passes which is a lot for her. If she wants to go to be a beam and bars specialist, it might be a bit wiser given her injuries to focus on those events, both of which she's capable of medaling in.

GOOOO SUNI, honestly Simone may indeed be best, but to me, Suni is the epitome of graceful, and that's rare in USA gymnastics these days. I pray she's stays healthy, and keeps feeling and doing well! I also pray she gets to go to the olympics, and gets at least at least one bronze there!
Suni and Simone are two very DIFFERENT types of gymnast. Suni is supple elegance and Simone is power elegance and for this reason, neither could do what the other is best at and that is why I absolutely love them both. I want them both on the team for Paris and it looks more and more a sure thing.
The long lines and artistry-focused routines are out there. I believe the next era in USA women's gymnastics will be all about it. Look at Nola Matthews and Claire Pease, who will rise in the next season or two. Look at lovely Shilese, whose bars routine was truly missing at this championship, and her floor. (Really hopeful her shoulder responds to the care and rest so we can see her in Trials and Paris).

Yes, a combination of the supple along with the power is why the US is where it is at today. I promise you, when Simone retires, many Americans will learn to appreciate what she brought to the sport because it is guaranteed they will not have such dominance again, at least not for a long while.

I don't think the strength will go away; it was there before she arrived with all the girls doing Amanar vaults, etc. Yes, the Karolyi era had big issues and we can all be glad it's over, but the strength influence remains. Now that we've left the United States of Amanar and moved to the New Republic of Cheng, I believe we will see a shift towards the sort of strength and style combo that's made Suni and Shilese top performers, and was effective for Morgan Hurd as well.
She is one of the gymnasts that I love to watch. So elegant and graceful... Her leos are always so beautiful too. This one is on the top of the list with the green leo!! I know Suni will do just fine at trials. I will continue to say, "She's the definition of NEVER GIVE UP."
Alot more difficulty to come on floors for Suni. She's playing it safe as this is first time she's doing all-around (all 4 apparatuses) for a couple years. I have no doubt she will peak in time for Olympics.❤❤
Imagine how she could’ve scored if she didn’t fall and didn’t water down her bars. If she keeps this up, she’ll be on the team and will be able to place in the top 4 even with Shilese at trials. It’ll really come down to who hits and who chokes at trials, and I’m hoping that for Suni, she’ll hit everything. The team needs her for bars and beam

The first time she had to wait a whole additional year to get on the Olympic stage; the second time her body betrayed her. You can't choose your moment in sports. I can't even imagine the kind of focus, drive, and sheer mental toughness needed to finish as high as she did. Not 100% just yet, but momentum is on her side. Looking forward to an inspirational trials!
That beam dismount always makes me think of collegiate gymnastics but she makes it look elite. I mean she’s an OGM so I’m not surprised but it’s so pretty
One of the best things about the Karolyis leaving was it allowed all the gymnasts to start wearing some incredible leos. It was Martha that loved the pink colours which was made into a rule

I agree. Right now, I think that Simone, Shilese, Skye and Suni are essentially locks. The 5th spot is between Jade/ Jordan and Kayla in my opinion.
