A trick for sewing with pets: Create a decoy project. Lay out a piece of fabric on another part of the floor and pretend to be working on it. Your pet will be drawn to it, which will allow you to lay out your actual fabric and work on it.
I’m also making my wedding dress so this was a great video to watch! Thank you for sharing your process! I might give the duct tape method a go to get a better fit!

Omg it’s so frustrating and as much as I try to move on from it my brain won’t focus on anything properly until I’ve remembered the word …. In fact after watching your video I was so focused on the word you couldn’t remember from the cotton you were using … then about 3am I woke up and though ….. CALICO …. is that what you call it … we call it calico in the UK XXX
This was a great video!! I have a similar concept for my own wedding dress that I'm currently mocking up. Going to use Daria's rose café bustier and the skirt from simplicity 8743, plus some sort of sleeve! Can't wait for the next one to follow along your journey!
Your hair/look reminds me of Natasha Richardson from The Parent Trap (Lindsey Lohan one), it’s like…casual elegance, I dunno, hope that made sense 😅also your adhd moments crack me up, it’s like watching myself get things done😂
All the very best for this gorgeous construction ❤️ Edit for advice : use iron on thin cancan cut in the exact shape of your skirt hem with the same fabric backing. It is incredibly easy to sew and less hassle and if done good enough will you the floof without the wonkyness
@@ashbentley you can also try the thick interlining with fabric on the other side .. it is the same process and the same application that can can has. both are different grain thickness and have little difference except the cancan will need reinforcement. the white interlining backing won't cz when cut cancan can absolutely be a little scratchy.
