No surprise here. The quietest, most modest, most highly cultured craftsman on TH-cam forges the most beautiful, precise hammer. Well done. A work of art in every detail.

Torbjorn is right. It's only too late to learn a new thing when you are dead. I'm 42 and work as a service engineer for warehouse automation. For 2 years now i'm carving spoons as a hobby. Few months ago i forged my first hook knife at home. Just pushed the old chisel into the fire in the kitchen and made my first tool by hammering some hot steel on a little anvil nailed into a wooden brick:D
Right now i'm making my first forge in the old bucket. It may take some time, depending on my service travels, but it's fun!
@Torbjörn Åhman Thank you for inspiration and also showing your mistakes. The only person who does nothing, doesn't make mistakes:)

Just not by TA, actually no makers mark on it unfortunately, just a weight mark... Clearly early century factory work, but still made by hand in just the same way.

Hi Torbjorn! Hope you're well and you had a good easter break, jsut wanted to say thanks heaps for this video! I have been making a small engravers hammer over the weekend and some gravers, and I realised I didnt know the order of operations for setting a hammer head on the handle, so followed this and it turned out great! Thanks so much!

Nice hammer! It's good to see the first three attempts, I always find the best way to learn is experimenting and making mistakes. Keep up the good work.

Just discovered your videos; absolutely wonderful work! I'm a 'wood' guy, not a metal guy, but I'm always fascinated by talented craftsmanship . As a wood guy, be sure to add a set of spokeshaves to your Christmas wish list. They will make that handle work a LOT easier!

Wow! I was watching your "half moon leather knife" video, when I saw the hammer and thought that it had a certain brand. So, I searched for this video. And I am glad I did.
Wonderful. Craftsmanship and tenacity. "Two days of experimentation" is a credit to you. Thank you for sharing this video.
