    This is the foundation of where we started our company: Quality is a requirement, not an option. Color doesn’t have to be complicated; it can be conquered. Home is a reflection of your ideas and personality and a safe place to land at the end of a hard day.

    Usually cheaper paint costs more in labor to make it work.
    I stick with select, it works, I can apply it faster just by being more familiar with the product.

    And in spite of all this information the fact is that 99% of paint contractors come in with cheap ass builder grade paint. They then water it down. Then they whip out their airless sprayer and spray one and only one coat on your walls and call it good to go. Professionalism in this industry is a true unicorn.

Unless you can show me specific INSTRUCTIONS from the manufacturer where they state you can thin down interior / exterior paint with water and the exact mixing ratios. Its very simple.....there are NO instructions to add water to paint, because by doing so you are altering a very specific chemical reaction in the paint and therefore the paint will NOT perform correctly in the long term!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Decent information. I've been using SW Duration and Emerald lines with great success and really like them, bought at the SW store and not one of the big-box chains (they carry a lesser grade version). Both go on smooth, cover well and blend into cut-in areas with no noticeable marks. Usually Duration satin on the walls and Emerald egshell on the tongue and grove ceiling (pine) or matte for drywall ceilings. Proper prep, including the primer, is utmost of importance.
    I personally see no reason to spend more than $60-75 a gallon for a decent paint. I stay away from the sub $45/gal paints... they are cheaply made and are not good IMHO.

      Great Question! So you can use a ProCryl, SherCryl combo from SW. However that maybe over kill. Most paints on a prefinishes Metal siding will be fine. Ben Moore Regal select, Sherwin WIlliams Emerald / Super paint will work just fine. Check The data sheet on their websites for to verify what paint you choose. Also make sure if there is a current coating on the surface to find out what the coating is. ie. oil or latex

    I recommend PPG Breakthrough because it’s cheap for more of a premium waterborne and dries in 15minutes when you need to get it done fast. Or Benjamin Moore Corotech Command as economical higher end single component waterborne. I’m actually kind of done with Sherwin Williams and their nonsensical pricing. Only products I’ll use from them is the Sherwood line which most homeowners will not be using. Don’t waste the money on Gallery Series and Emerald Urethane is no better than Duration, Resilience, Solo or Super Paint IMO soft and rubbery and takes forever to dry and cure.

    Let's go Behr

  • @msk3905
    @msk3905 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I used to use BM exclusively but years back they did something with the formula and I was finding it hard to apply but more importantly i was getting spot color bleed through? Switched to Behr and they has worked fantastic for the countless gallons I applied both interior and exterior, comes in at a great price point. SW is great paint but you pay for it and I have recently used Regal select, expensive but applied great and color holding up but $$. Wife needs a “brand” name paint otherwise I’d be using Behr. BM Regal Select is not the best paint for a bathroom if you have any steam.
    I am not a painting contractor although I did start a painting contractor back when I was in grad school and have painted countless countless rooms throughout my homes, Behr color has been spot on consistent gallon to gallon (and does everyone not know you mix gallons before switching?) and has held up as good as any BM paint that I have used. I needed to do a quick job of exterior color change on a house, went from a yellow to light grey so used the Behr product just below Marque that was a paint in primer and primer in one, it still looked great after 10 years of New England weather, not one area chipped or peeled. I understand your comments and would expect any contractor to not use Behr but if you painting yourself it is an excellent paint. I guarantee that if I painted one room in BM, one with SW and one with Behr 99% of people would not be able to tell the difference.

    All these comments sound like diyers.. S-W is for the most part the choice of paint for any contractor.. I was raised on MAB.. anyone arguing for aura or emerald just doesn’t like money.. ultra spec is par with 200 not super paint.. Ben is par with super paint and not as good as cashmere.. personally I prefer cashmere over duration or the regal line.. cashmere egg is 🔥 and my price is 30 a gallon I believe.. all this still doesn’t comp to scuff X from ben or scuff tuff from S-W.. I get scuff tuff which I like immensely for a much much better price than Ben (nearly 15 a gallon difference)
    At the end of the day it’s all about application.. expensive doesn’t mean good and a shit paint job won’t be saved because you painted your bathroom with aura..
