That's how basically I started this audio hobby. I bought CX31993 Pro for my daily phone which sounds great on Alternative Rock and Pop songs. But then later on, I became interested in investing to DAP so I bought Sony Walkman A55 (with custom firmware) and the sound is far different from my phone.
I have both Odyssey HD and CX-Pro, they are definitely worth the buy. Even i already have E1DA 9038D and Qudelix 5K, i still decided to invest into these dongles and they provide decent sound quality, very enjoyable and of course they are small and very comfortable to bring along.
I'm quite new in this hobbie, i had a sonata hd pro and didn't see why ppl like it so much cuz i didn't. I had a powerdac v2 which i found "okaysh"(not worth the price though), now i'm with a es100 mk2 from radsone, and though i like it i know it is not what i was and still looking for, so i'm considering sell it and get either qudelix 5k or e1da 9038d. Anyway Which sounds better in your opinion, qudelix or e1da 9038d?
@@troy13152 in terms of sound quality i prefer 9038D, it provide more soundstage, more transparent and refine sound than Qdelix 5K( as USB DAC). But that's the trade off because 5K is very comfortable and have more use since ig is a BT Dac. So i think if you prefer sound, go for 9038D or 9038S for more power. If you want more comfortble, go for the 5K. Beside, i used to have ES100 but i cant compare sound quality vs 5K because that was long time ago and with different IEM. But the 5K is winner with better Bluetooth signal, better TypeC port and build quality. Hope it helps, sr for my bad Eng
I recently bought VE Odyssey HD and VE BIE regular version. Very impressed by their performance for the price. I also like their simple packaging. Simple packaging and more concentration on the performance of the product at a lower price is what I like and VE has done well. Looking forward to more DAC/AMPs and IEMs from them in the future. I don't use Earbuds though as they don't fit my ears that well and they keep falling off
So to make my nintendo switch headphones sound louder would this dongle work or do I need something like a sound blaster g3 to get louder sounding headphone sound from the nintendo switch?
thanks! you are so on point. I 'm just starting and just getting into this rabbit hole in audiophile stuff. I like what you said if you are just starting $10 is not bad or something like that. So you hammer the point I wanted too and later you said just go higher if you want more. thank you.

I have lg g8x with quad dac which triggers the high impedance mode with monk plus. Sounds great and with donut foams even better.. Does odessey hd has a better pairing with monk plus when used with lg g8x?
Cool video. I am a beginning to the DAC world and am trying to learn more and more. I have been using the $9 Apple lighting 3.5 mm headphone jack adapter. Why? It includes in built-in DAC and only costs $9 and not over $100, right? Supports lossless music and up to 44.1 kHz. Thank you!
Great video Sir. Question. I have a LG V60 with its own DAC. Now here's my question. Any dongle goes thru the USB-C port. But I have the dual screen on my V60 which uses that magnetic adapter. So can I use a DAC dongle with that adapter?
That's a really good question. Juan bagnell will know, I suspect. I'm pretty sure the v60 adapter allows some kind of data transfer. I'll actually test it out today. I know the G8X does not have data transfer at all on the adapter. Of course, the v60 already has a hi fi dac internally, which is probably going to be better than the dongle dac anyway. But still, would be good to know. Stuff like qudelix 5k is ideal bc it has Bluetooth as well
Hello sir, After connecting the headphones to this,( venture Avani) do the mic, previous track, next track work in the headphones? I mean in line controls. Thanks
Thanks for explaining to us your take on dongles and the hype haha. Ordinary consumers like me don't understand the thd and measurements listed on the box. DAP manufacturers are facing tough competition from dongles, tws, etc. But it still depends on one's preference in sound and how serious they want to take the hobby. Something like the cx or odyssey is good for anyone into audio or not. But an entry level dap is still viable (at least for my needs). The ovidius costs more than a shanling m0 where I live. 😂 I'll stick to my m0 for more serious listening and dongle when I'm lazy.
@@WildLee Wow, first with monk go and now with (a possible new dongle). 😂 I saw you were talking about the issue of suppliers increasing chip prices.. I look forward to seeing what ve has for us. 👀

Very well explained man. Portability is important for many.
so as synergy
Now I understand (clearly) why my Odyssey HD sounds so much better when plugging into laptop comparing to my phone :D
better driver and better power condition

Good timing, i bought odyssey hd but it does not work with my ipad air 4 (ios 4.5), could be apple problem..
use a usb adapter to type-a, then type-c again....typical apple...

without hack, it is triggered by headphone impedence
no app will do anything to achieve 2VRMS output.
search " how to trigger high impedance mode on LG V20" on youtube.

hard to say, depend on your taste, ohd is more analogish sounding than lg quad dac for sure
Can i use this cx31993 on my g8x? My g8x's audio jack cannot detect both my earphone and headphone
