✔️Disclaimer: Guys, this is for every hp/iem or earphone and not specific to this only:-There's always a deviation in the frequency response as you increase the volume. More volume either give you more bass or more treble in some cases. Sound signature can differ from one to another depending upon your source device, DAC, audio format and compression 🙏 -----------🎧
✔️Audio equipment sounds best when they get warm, so give a little time to your DAC for a warm-up. You will surely hear the changes in your audio.
🔴Tips:
✔️Always try to use some good EQ app like wavelet (for android) or Dolby atmos on your mobile in case you are not getting the sound you want. ✔️Getting deep bass: always choose accurate sized eartips for your ear. Foam eartips give you the BEST isolation.
✔️Always listen on low to mid volumes so that your eardrums have a long run to sense and judge the high frequencies spectrum.
✔️DAC doesn't always guarantee to produce a heavenly sound to you, sometimes it makes the audio worst (especially the bad ones)
✔️Sometimes an aftermarket cable can improve the sound quality of your iems.
✔️Multi drivers earphones do not always sound super good, sometimes a single full-range dynamic driver creates wonder to your music experience.
✔️One iem/hp/earphone is not always suited for every music genre ✔️Expensive gears (exceptions are there) do not always give you the best experience.

Nice review. Looks like you know what you're talking about, which I can't say for a lot of tech reviewers from India. I was going to by this DAC but I got more confidence after watching your review. Bring more such videos in the future, possibly on DACs with a Lightning connector.

Liking it so far.
Compared to astell & kern xb10 (only other dac amp I have), this is less loud. As expected since there's no amp per se.
Liking the sound signature though :) and also the absence of the Bluetooth buzz that I was used to on the xb10, is a welcome change! :)

Type C jacks are digital in many cases and require active iems or active headphones meaning...the headphones C jack must have a DAC built in. Now you can buy a type C DAC and there are many.
Like abigail, avani from venture electronics are available on headphonezone. Tiandirenhe CX32993 on conceptkart.
For beginning you can buy cca cra or Astrotec Vesna etc.

sure bro, will make some day. trebles are on the right side of the frequency graph, mostly frequencies above 2khz comes under treble which we call highs...include mostly instrument sounds, many of the instruments also come under bass bro.

So nice review.... Nicely explained... Certain smartphone have dedicated dac like lg v60, lg g8... Can you elaborate which dac brands use in their portfolio and which is the best.. And is DAP a better buy than dac/amp...
phone specs can tell you the dac chips used in those phones. Also, the chip alone can't give you the real dac feel unless it mingles with the nicely designed output stage and a great power supply. Although consumer grade dacs are enough to enjoy.
Daps are good because they have built in chips.

I think yes. Dac won't interfere with sound levels. It just passthrough the built in dac on mobile.

why it is damage dac, a dac is just far away from amplification. It just convert from digital to analog. It has no amplification.
But if you have a dac and amp combo, the dacAmp might work as a preamp.

my phone also has 3.5mm port but also has a type C charging port. This dongle uses your charging type C port to connect....just remember one thing...your phone should support OTG function properly.

VE Odessey is very good, just both these dacs have different sound signatures. CS pro has a cirrus logic chip and the sound is more soft and mellow compared to Odessey, Odessey is more forward sounding bro, has a bit of amplification too. I like CS Pro more, other person choice might be different from my choice 🙂

dac may or may not improve the sound and it is reality. However it helps you listen to music with sample rates above 48khz like 96, 192 and above.

you can buy BL03 and use it directly with your phone..no DAC required initially. You can buy any DAC later on.

Hi, for the dongle DAC you can buy any if you want sample rate above 48khz like 96, 192khz and more. Otherwise Tempotec Sonata HD Pro, fiiO ka3, fiiO ka1 con be considered. About speakers add a dac between your source and speakers but the JBL won't be that much resolving that give you upper quality. Please subscribe if you haven't yet :)

ssp has more bass than ssr, ssp is a little weak in the treble department. So overall ssr is kind of reference type while ssp has more warmth in the sound. ssp would be the choice I think. Now you can also decide what you want in the sound.

I'm using this dac since a year,audio quality is quite good with my nokia G20 smartphone.but when I'm connecting to my Dell windows 8.1 laptop, no audio output from dac,no drivers found for your device msg arises,is there any proper driver for this dac?
mine is working perfectly with Windows 11, no drivers needed. Windows autodetect the dongle, however please check in the device manage if you find some errors with some of your usb ports..or try different port or try some different pc or laptop.

I got a c to 3.5 mm converter for my phone......but when I connect my kz iem, there is a hissing noise accompanied by the audio.....The audio itself is fine .....but can you suggest me why there is a hissing noise ?
Also my phone is Moto edge 30 fusion.....and the dongle is from portronics......will my issue get resolved if I get the CS-PRO ??
I suspect portronics .. it's not an audio brand bro, they don't disclose thd and snr values. May be cs pro work well because I myself and many others do not face any hissing / noise issues 🙂

Hi , i have trn st1 , first i used them with my phones audio jack it was great for my first iem experience then i switched my phone that doesn't have a jack and i used a 150 rs dongle that my phn supports , but i feel the sound quality is not that good now with that dongle , should I purchase this one to get better sound ?
why not..get a good dongle DAC...if it does not improve the sound exceptionally ... it won't degrade it either. So, get one if your mobile only has a type C

Spatial audio is in the recording basically... separation and dimension is also depends upon the kind of iem or earphones you are using. Overall it's a good DAC for the price.

I think these dongles are quite sturdy, better than apple and google dongle in terms of strength because the cable ends are reinforced.

currently I have no DAC using on board audio from realtek
using 3.5mm connection to my headphones (oneodio a71D)
on my pc I am not using default realtek drivers but install Dolby atmos for gaming audio driver which improved my audio quality drastically like night and day in terms of stereo experience directional sounds footsteps bass in music
I just have to switch profiles
like on gaming while gaming
on music while spotify
on dynamic when movie/youtube

Don't go for this. Nord 2 doesn't support this for some reason. My money got wasted on these. Instead go for the Abigail dac with the cx pro dac.

I didn't check this on PC for mic, however, the same thing works on mobile with a clean voice.

Will it work with Samsung galaxy s22+? I see many people have type c with otg, still it doesn't work on their phones. Not sure if it'll work with the galaxy.
if s22 supports otg functionality, no one can stop this dongle to work with that phone.
But as you said, even with otg it's not working...mmm me too helpless then. You can try other dacs.

no matter what mobile device one has, the sample rates are capped at 44.1 or max 48khz. If you want to listen above 48khz like 96 or 192khz..you need this.

Is there a constant noise at low volume? I'm using a portronics' 3.5 mm to usb type c converter. There is a noise which is constant when any music plays.
No noise at least in my case and I haven't heard such from PPL. Portronics is not an audio brand and we can expect cheapness from such brands.

I ordered CX31993 yesterday can you tell me how this DAC is compared to the CS46L41, the product is yet to arrive.
it's good, these sounds almost same and you won't perceive much difference listening side by side.

When I compare this with my Portronics' DAC. The instrument separation, bass, stereo sound - everything seems better in portronics.
I would suggest you to have a look at this DAC too, it's priced at ~260rs.
