6:00 "I think I might get this done today, and that makes me happy." Ginger Runner, your videos make me happy. Your videos and running are an inspiration to so many. Thank you for your enduring artistry and bravery. Long may you run.
Mate, your films are as honest and reliable as your reviews. You have one of the best running channels on TH-cam and this video wasn't an exception. Huge respect for what you do and for keeping it real !
Did you like the music?? It is available on iTunes (and Amazon, Spotify, etc) right now! Just search "Ginger Runner" - the new album is "Canterbury" :)
I have a 50k coming up next Saturday in Bloomington Illinois. Totally undertrained coming off an injury but going for it anyways. Thanks for the inspiration.
Congrats to you and especoially Kim. I remember the Expectations video where she was having so many problems on that long race so its great to see her crush this one.
Hong Kong 5am on a Saturday. Up and ready for my run. Last thing to sort is a loo break. While I'm here get some motivation from the best running video creator on TH-cam. Thank you thank you, Ethan.
watching ur race videos are so inspiring, last couple of months have been little to no running and i think watching this video is what i needed to re-spark that motivation, thank you
It takes a lot of guts to put your self out there.... I want to make videos but am afraid of what "friends" or others will think of my honesty. You have the same issues many do, and on top of that expose it to the world. Top notch. Keep it up.
It looks like such a beautiful course--congratulations to you both!! Your videos have really inspired me--and after mostly running road races, I ran my first trail 50k about a month ago!! Thanks for all of your content!
Great video, and glad it's not just me with issues building up to these things - as someone else said, I love the quote - "run an ultra - just do it!!. Got my first official 50k next month, so will remember that!! Great running Ethan & Kim, from across the pond! :-)
Nice work as always! It was cool meeting/running with you even for a brief moment last week. Keep doing what you're doing bro and congrats on the PR and Kim's finish!
Thank you so much for posting this. I needed to see this today. Running my 50 miler tomorrow and I'm getting butterflies. I'm a bit nervous about it. This video was a great way to calm those nerves. You and Kim did awesome!! Her emotions at the end says it all! Looking forward to tomorrow!
Great job like usual. Congrats to both you and Kim. I ran my first marathon this weekend (Ottawa Marathon), had your tunes the whole time blasting and helped me push to the end. Cheers!
Fantastic video. I particularly liked Kim's emotion as she finished. Thank you for continuing to inspire me to run. Very tempted to go beyond the marathon distance now.
well done. thank you for continuing to allow us into your life, your emotional/mental/physical struggle, as well as your victories. it shows humility, honesty, and integrity.
Every mini movie you make inspires me to do longer races. So far my PR is 44.3KM. My wife thinks I'm crazy but thank you again for sharing your journey's with us.
Awesome - congratulations on both of your finishes and on the vid. Executed so well and super inspirational to watch. Doing my first ultra in 4 weeks - very much inspired by your journey
loving all your videos!!!.. as they say in Sunny Scotland.." your pure dead brilliant man"!!!..believe me it's a compliment,!!..keep on running ginger!!!..x
Congratulations to you both, what an incredible trail and mountain range. Great video the Drone shots add such an incredible depth to the experience! THANKS
Thanks Ethan, you got me into running! I am only up to 15km so far, but I have some big goals in my head. Step by step. Thanks again and keep it up. Well done Kim too!
Really dig your videos. I'm still new to trail as I started doing some at the end of last year and so hooked on the adventure of each course I do here in South Africa (Cape Town). Your videos are inspiring. Keep posting them.
Thanks for the inspiration to sign up for my first marathon! Won't make it due to an injury with 5 weeks to go:( but there are plenty others I plan on running in the future! Thanks and love the vids!
dude... im sitting here with my ginger runner stuff on, beer in my hand, only just ran 5 trail miles... if there was a little ginger runner flag i would have that in my other hand lol my furthest distance is 13 miles. i have my first half marathon next weekend. im a heavier runner and... at times i feel like im dragging the running community down by calling myself a runner. (which is silly because i run, fat or not, and so i am a runner by definition) i dont know if having fat guys as fans reflects poorly on your channel... i dont know why it would lol ANYWAYS long ass story short, you inspire me, amazed by your drive and musical creativity. your wit and humor is 'A' class. it takes people like you to get people motivated and outside which is an amazing ability that you have. DO NOT STOP DOING THIS. train race beer! lol you are the peoples champion sir. i admire your character. i sound gay... which isn't a bad thing! lmao im straight i assure you. good lord im done talking now. keep tearing it up dude!
Run Monkey For what little my opinion matters, keep doing your thing! You're out there, putting one foot in front of the other and (hopefully) enjoying it. That's all that matters, right? Respect to you.
Well done, Ethan. Congratulations to both you and Kim. I'm about to take on my 2nd 100 miler post last year's amazing (and amazingly difficult) experience at Cascade Crest. Hope that the great race at Sun Mountain helps build the confidence and motivation for you to think about what your 2nd 100 mile race will be as well.
Bighorn. I'm dealing with hip issues so I will be chasing cutoffs. But still looking forward to another memorable...hopefully not as cold/wet... experience.
Great video Ethan, what a day out there. You captured the day and the course wonderfully and I'm in the video, so I might be a little biased. Well done.
Great Vídeo, awesome race, I'm dreaming and choosing the place to run my first ultra, maybe here in Brazil or anywhere, USA have wonderful races and many options, thank you so much to share with us.
Another great video! Thank you so much for sharing this special day! Congratulations on getting it done AND all that under 10hrs plus filming!!! Really AwEsOmE!! Congratulations again to Kim as well!! How are you both feeling??
Nice video as always ! I'm so familiar with your songs that I wait for the beat changes to see how you make your video/narrative transitions :D Anyway congrats for you and Kim, I'm sending anti-anxiety vibes from french Alps !
I love these videos, you are my inspiration to do my first marathon and possibly first ultra. do you come up to wa often? I live up here and see you doing all these races here.
Wow, well done to both you and Kim! Have you made a video about what your camera set-up is for a run like this (mounts, etc)? I'd be really interested in seeing how you manage to both race and make an awesome video at the same time!
Just awesome as usual. Keep it up guys you are amazing and inspire me to keep running. you should use periscope and live cast your runs, I would love to see you running live.
Go Kim! Keeping her first 50 hush, huh? I get it. And woo Ethan on the new PR! Maybe running the 100 helped you get shorter races done faster? Higher mileage base improves fitness and speed, no? Films like this make me gotta get out there for an ultra someday, for now still working up to my first marathon. Thanks for your inspiration.
I think higher mileage improves the ability of your muscles, joints, and other tissues cope with the beating- but assuming your pace is low relative to your VO2max, I don't think you're going to improve much cardiovascularly. So that depends on your pace in the run, not the mileage. And speed would be improved by...speedy training, haha. Interval training, HIIT, etc, anything that gets you to your lactate threshold, near max-effort in short durations, with short rest between.

Run Monkey For what little my opinion matters, keep doing your thing! You're out there, putting one foot in front of the other and (hopefully) enjoying it. That's all that matters, right? Respect to you.
You run, ergo you are a runner! 1 mile, 5km, 1/2M, marathon or Ultra you run because you like it, just like the GR, just like all runners.
Thanks, Ethan for another fantastic video!
I LoVe your videos - so much so you have encouraged me to enter my first 41 mile ultra next March!
I so look forward to you videos. They really inspire me!!

The aid stations were great! Very well stocked and volunteers were great!
